Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation Review

Didn't think I'd like Double Wear as my skin leans more towards being on the dry side - but if I put a layer of facial moisturiser on before my primer, it gives me the most flawless and long wearing finish of any foundation I've tried. Love this.

I bought this foundation originally because my mum used it, and at the time she had nothing bad to say about it. I can honestly say I won't be buying this foundation again. It certainly lives up to its name of double-wear and stay in place foundation! It stayed on all day plus more! It took me a lot of scrubbing to get this stuff off and even once i had my pores still felt clogged. I also found the coverage to be too heavy for my liking and very cakey looking. I also had problems with it drying my skin out. Very disappointing!!

I bought this when I wanted a full coverage foundation, and it did exactly what it said, however I have normal skin and it cracked and dried my skin out and made it feel cakey! Not an everyday foundation for me as it's difficult to remove also and I feel it clogs my pores but if you want a flawless long wearing foundation this is perfect!

I purchased this when I was a bridesmaid in a wedding. I had read all the reviews and took in account that on the day I would most likely be to busy 'celebrating' to bother with any major touch ups etc. It when on beautifully and I was impressed (although I suspect I was incorrectly colour matched...but that's another story) it had the best coverage of any foundation I've used thus far. It stayed on all night long even through standing around in the heat all day, dancing and even the dreaded 'wine drinkers glow' so there I was congratulating myself on such a good purchase. However when it came time to take it off I had to use makeup remover and cleanser and everything else I had at my disposal. And also I have used it since a few times and found my skin looks a wee bit dry. And I found it gave me the tiniest of breakouts along my forehead.

I have combination skin (normal and oily in the T-zone) and this is the only foundation that lasts hours on me without slipping or oxidising. I have worn it for 15 hours but it started getting patchy along the chin and nose after 10 hours ( I don't blot or re-touch though) . Using a flat foundation brush makes it look a little streaky and cakey on application but a wet (and squeezed) sponge is fabulous for building coverage. I use a primer (moisture mist premake up cream) underneath it but don't set with powder to avoid the "cakey" appearance. I just put a little bronzer and blush on my cheekbones. My shade is Tawny 3w1. I thought I needed a bit more yellow because it seemed a little dark on my cheeks although it matched the darker parts of my face. However, I have grown to love this shade because of how even my skin looks when I'm wearing this foundation. It covers my dark under-eye circles too and it photographs well.

My life was completely changed for the better the day I found this foundation.

This foundation is the best I have personally found and I wear it nearly every day (i'm addicted!). It has excellent coverage and stays in place for 8 hours plus... what more can a girl ask for! I use a foundation brush when applying this foundation and have found that I do not need much on my brush in order to cover a large area. The range of colour matches in this brand of foundation is great and means that so many girls can try this out! I have found that I need to apply a moisturizer and primer prior to applying this foundation so it doesn't dry out over the day, however this is a minor for how fantastic the foundation itself is! Go trial it now!

LOVE IT This is the only foundation that i have ever worn that has stayed on around my nose and under my nose, usually after an hour or so it peels or rubs off. This lasts so long and love the formula. I did have to get matched twice as the first time the guy matched me to warm bone which was very pink on my skin, but once I found my shade I absolutely loved it. The design is classic and lasting in a glass bottle. The PRICE is pretty ruff being $80 a bottle but it lasts ages and is totally worth considering its an amazing product.

I recently received a sample of the ever so raved about EL double wear, and am sad to say I am not a fan! It made my skin dry out terribly and also made me break out even after washing my face twice! In saying that, everyone's skin reacts differently and my skin is normal/dry. The lady did tell me it may make my skin dry since I do have mildly dry skin (being winter). I so wish my skin didn't react to it because it is a super foundation and definitely lasts a long time!!

This is my all time favourite foundation. It is natural, has good coverage, slides on and lasts. The foundation is silky and easy to blend into the skin and probably one of the best foundations I have come across to date. It is a little more expensive but worth every cent. I find that the coverage is exceptional and there is no need to use a concealer with this.

This foundation is amazing! You only need a tiny bit and it covers evenly with my real techniques brush (or my fingers if I'm rushing!). It gets rid of my redness and creates a perfect matte finish. Lasts perfectly all day with no touch ups. Only negative is that it doesn't really hide pimples (you need to slather on concealer for that). Totally worth the price and lasts ages!!
