I have used double wear for several months and it certainly does what it says, it lasts all day but you do need a good cleanser to remove it. It is my favorite foundation when I need coverage that is guaranteed to last. The only downside I have found is it can be very drying.

This is actually the best foundation. It covers like it says it will & then it stays in place, even when you get wet.
Tips: I use a buffer brush to apply mine for best coverage/ blending & top it off with some bronzer to make sure I don't look too 'flat' coloured
I have tried two different formulas of the estee lauder double wear - the first has the spf 10 in it, the other does not - the one with the spf in it is the original formula and it has the BEST staying power! it is definitely standing up to its name of staying in place! Takes at least a double cleanse if not more to remove it afterwards. Whereas i have found with the version that does not have the spf in it, it doesn't quite have the same durability - still lasts a long time just not as long and it is easier to remove with cleanser at the end of the day. I think that the new formula - without the spf hasn't yet reached NZ and they are only selling it overseas currently so be aware when buying online whether you are buying the old or new formula.
Tips: I love to use the original beauty blender to apply my EL double wear foundation. have a good cleaner to remove this foundation as it has the ability to clog pores and produce acne if it isnt removed properly - double or even triple cleanse to ensure all the foundation has been removed at night before going to bed :)
I have been using this foundation for a number of years. Becus it is so light I wear it most days. My skin tends to be slightly oily but this prouct does not have the midday slippage. Overall the colour range and ablity to blend is a plus.
Tips: Get the makeup technicans at the beauty counter demonstrate how to apply this foundation. Estee Lauder has just put out a brush for applying foundation, easy to use with this foundation.
Love it! I went in store to sample this but ended up buying it :) I have this in 2W2 Rattan. My skin type is oily/combination.
It is about medium coverage and applies to a velvety texture - it feels very light weight . For those with dry skin type, the SA suggested you mix the foundation with a serum type moisturizer (she did this with me as I was a tad dry that day)
The lasting power of this is awesome, I find i'm not as oily (not expecting a miracle) part way through the day and the foundation hasn't "broken down" to a complete mess after a days wear. One thing i do recommend is pairing this foundation with Estee Lauder Illuminating primer (seriously this is the best primer I have come across - check it out). I believe this primer helps with the staying power and also because it is illuminating it helps with this foundation as it may look quite flat/dull.
Remove with cleansing oil/makeup remover, follow up with your regular facial cleanser to prevent clogging of pores/break outs.
After hearing heaps of rave reviews about Estee Lauder's famous Double Wear Foundation, I finally found the opportunity (and budget) to buy it for myself. This foundation is very full coverage and matte in finish, something that took a while for me to get used to, after using mostly medium coverage, dewy foundations in the past. In order to prevent it from feeling too thick on my skin, I'll often mix it with a little moisturiser before applying. This helps with the consistency for me without compromising its staying power. Overall, it's an extremely good foundation, long-wearing, easily blendable and looks great on the skin!
Tips: I would definitely recommend getting colour-matched instore if you can. I've always found Estee Lauder staff really friendly and well-informed, and they're often happy to offer you a small sample to take away with you.
I use this product when I want to achieve a clear full coverage for my makeup. Coverage and colour is excellent. Nice consitency. Doesnt dry or flake. Doesnt leave my skin oily. No retouches required and stays put. I am really impressed with its staying power and its matte finish. My make up stays true to color and lasts much longer when I use this foundation. I also need a yellow based foundation and found this product matches my skintone perfectly
Tips: I suggest a primer to be used under this to help blend it evenly and I prefer to use a beauty blender to apply it with.
I'm on my third bottle of this bad boy, which has NEVER happened before, so that says a lot!
Double Wear definitely has some spectacular staying power going on (incredibly important for my combination oily skin - even most long wear foundations start sliding off my forehead by late afternoon, but not Double Wear!), and despite being what I would consider a mid to full coverage foundation it's still surprisingly buildable, so when I'm having a rare good skin day I can use a very light hand and get a lovely natural 'barely there' look. Alternatively, you can really build it up for a flawless, airbrushed look for events and parties.
Most days, though, a normal application of the mid-full cover is fantastic for my acne-prone, ruddy skin and evens things out beautifully without sitting heavily on the skin like a lot of fuller coverage foundations do. A lot of them tend to look or feel 'cakey', but I don't find that with the Double Wear at all.
My only lament is that while they have a fantastic range of colours, they just don't quite go yellow enough for my skin tone - but I make it work with some peach toned bronzer on my neck and chest!
Tips: You definitely want to use a brush or sponge for a really flawless application, and while you don't have to RUSH like you do with some foundations, if it does dry it becomes fairly difficult to blend so you do want to work moderately quickly.
Their colours have a tendency to oxidise a bit, so they can change colour a smidge over the first half an hour or so of wear - so make sure you go to a pharmacy or department store that will let you take a sample pottle away to make sure you've got the right colour match!
Oh, and make sure you moisturise 10 minutes before you apply - I find it harder to work with if my skin is too dry!
best foundation ever! I have been using this foundation for 4 years. I tried to change it so many times but I always go back to it because it's prefect for my oily sensitive skin, I always look like I just applied it even after hours! And it doesn't irritate my skin. There are a lot of good foundation but I always wake up the next morning with a break out but not with this one.
Tips: The only issue with it it's a bit heavy so you need to apply a small amount that's why I prefer to wear it in winter or on special occasions during the summer.
I have combination skin (normal and oily in the T-zone) and this is the only foundation that lasts hours on me without slipping or oxidising. I have worn it for 15 hours but it started getting patchy along the chin and nose after 10 hours ( I don't blot or re-touch though) . Using a flat foundation brush makes it look a little streaky and cakey on application but a wet (and squeezed) sponge is fabulous for building coverage. I use a primer (moisture mist premake up cream) underneath it but don't set with powder to avoid the "cakey" appearance. I just put a little bronzer and blush on my cheekbones. My shade is Tawny 3w1. I thought I needed a bit more yellow because it seemed a little dark on my cheeks although it matched the darker parts of my face. However, I have grown to love this shade because of how even my skin looks when I'm wearing this foundation. It covers my dark under-eye circles too and it photographs well.
Tips: Pour the product onto something else other than the back of your hand so it doesn't dry as quick. Try mixing the foundation with a moisturiser to sheer the foundation out if you like a little less coverage and you're not worried about it's staying power for that day.
