Maybelline Great Lash Mascara Review

Ive used this Mascara many times in the past now and I keep going back to it. It has a small brush which I prefer and makes it really easy to use. It last a long time and does not get clumpy or thick like some Mascara tend to do. I also love it as the brush makes it really easy to do the smaller bottom lashes. It may not give the big 'false lash' look but it is definately a great everyday mascara.

This mascara was my go-to for years. I found the brush was easy to use (some brushes do an amazing job, but are darned hard to use!) and the formula never clumped. The formula was pretty good about not smudging and it didn't dry out.

Did I look like I was wearing falsies or naturally had eyelashes to dye for (see what I did there??)? No. Did it coat my lashes and frame my face without smudging or otherwise drawing attention to itself? Yes. Win!

I tried this because I saw a friend wearing it and it made her lashes look fantastic. It had already been on my 'to try' list and her look convinced me it was worth trying.

On me however, it was a bit more average. The mascara felt fairly standard for a Maybelline mascara and gave me roughly the average length lashes I get with a Maybelline mascara. When I applied lots and lots of coats I could get a more significant amount of length and a bit of volume, but with that many coats of mascara, my lashes also felt a bit heavy and gluggy.

In terms of clumping, I wouldn't say they never clumped, but they didn't clump a lot which was good. In fact overall I didn't really feel this mascara thickened the lashes which I think contributed to the lack of clumps.

Packaging-wise its a bright, simple design that is eye catching and classic.

The mascara itself does have potential, but you need to already have long lashes to discover that potential to some extent.

Pretty sure that this was the first mascara I ever tried about 7 years ago. So this product has certainly been around for a while! I think that this is a good product for beginners as it is affordable and the brush is on the smaller side. Sometimes big mascara brushes can be tricky to control when you're first starting out with makeup, but this one is nice and small.

This mascara won't give you super dramatic lashes. I would say that it's better for wearing during the day, if you don't want to look too 'made up'. It gave my lashes a decent amount of length, but I never noticed a significant difference in volume. I don't recall it flaking or clumping, but towards the end of the day I did find it to be a bit smudgy. This mascara can be quite wet, so make sure you give it plenty of time to dry.

I probably won't buy this mascara again since I now prefer big dramatic lashes. But it certainly served me well during my teenage years.

I like this product. It produces a nice dark Lash without clumping and lasts all day long. Only downfall is a couple of coats is needed but it still doesn't clump or look to thick.

I think the selling point of this mascara is the price and how long it's been around. It's fairly inexpensive as mascara goes and been around since the 70s or something like that.

It didn't do much for my lashes. I found the spoolie very easy to use but it left my lashes as straight as ever. Mine are very short so I have to use mascara to make it look like I have lashes in the first place and this one just didn't do the job as well as previous mascaras I have used from Maybelline. I did get the waterproof one and that held up very well since my eyelids are supremely oily so if that's what you're looking for and nothing else, this mascara will do the job!

I doubt I'd get this again. There's mascaras out there that are cheaper and could potentially be better than this one.

This is not a good mascara, despite it being a cult classic and favorite of many it just didn't work for me. It's affordable though, but if you want a better mascara there is only a $5 difference anyways.

The brush is very average, just a normal spoolie, which could be where I went wrong but I am not impressed with it. The formula is average too, inky black in colour and a good consistency - not too watery and not too dry.

But when I try to apply it on my lashes it just comes off in huge amounts, causing my lashes to clump and when I take a clean spoolie to comb out the clumps all of the length comes off.

The lasting time was good, I found it didn't smudge too much on my oily eyelids and only had minimal flaking to my surprise.

Maybe other people could make this work, but for me it just doesn't. I may end up trying the 'Lots of Lashes' version of this, it looks like it may work better for me but as for the classic I really don't like it.
