The brush curve is a little difficult to get used to. I prefer a larger fluffier mascara wand so I found this small short plastic bristle wand didn't give me the result I wanted. I think this would be good for someone with short lashes whom wanted to get close to the lash base with their mascara

Lancôme Grandiose Mascara is a wide-angle effect bottle of magic. From the luxurious black and silver packaging with Lancôme’s signature rose, to the most amazing mascara formula to the magical swan-neck wand.
Initially upon seeing the shape of the wand I thought applying my mascara was going to be very awkward. Applying Lancôme Grandiose Mascara is far from awkward. The brush glides through my lashes effortlessly - so no tugging. The wonderful curvature of the brush reaches my eyelashes from corner to corner. And there is no more touching of my face (bridge of my nose) with the wand.
I do not have long lashes an upon application I am left with the most amazing lift and length. I have no need for layering and this amazing mascara formula is also clump free. Lancôme Grandiose formula dries quickly and is a true dark black in colour. Absolutely stunning.
I used to use Lancome Hypnose regularly, but recently have been swapping about a bit. Going back to Lancome I thought I would try Lancome Grandiose as it was new. The blurb says the mascara provides volume, hold & intensity (colour). The volume is definitely there in length but not thickness. The hold is very good & it lasts all day. I also find it comes off almost like a tube mascara when you remove it with eye makeup remover. The colour is a really nice deep black. The patent-pending “Swan-NeckTM” wand is very unusual & I have to admit to needing to find a 'YouTube' clip to see how best to use it. It is great once you get the hang of it & it does help with applying the mascara & being able to reach all the lashes especially the ones in the corner. The main point of my review would be that it is great for short lashes to get length, but it does not really add any thickness to the lashes.
Tips: Try the wand to get a 'fan style' to your lashes & if you need length but not necessarily volume
