BH Cosmetics Forever Smokey Review
BH Cosmetics Forever Smokey Smoldering and sexy, create a customized smokey eye from sophisticated to bold. This all-in-one pigment-rich smokey palette for eyes, lips and cheeks allows for infinite possibilities. Palette features 6 deluxe sized eye shadows from silky shimmers to velvety matte shades, 2 neutral blush shades, 1 highlighter and 2 everyday lip colors. Everything you need to do a smokey eye like a pro.
This featured in my February Favourites for a very good reason.
The bronzer, blush and highlight are pretty bad. They're chalky and not very pigmented at all. Also they're quite hard to blend and the highlight, unless used wet (I only use it on my eyes anyway) barely shows up. For some people, it could be nice in a subtle way, but I love a full on highlight, so this isn't for me.
The lip colours are good, but not on the lips, I love using them as cream blushes. They're not overly pigmented, but enough to leave a pretty flush on the cheeks or just a tint to the lips. They're quite nice feeling although they can dry out the lips a little.
Now here's the stars of the show. The eyeshadows. If you've seen my other palette reviews, you'll know that a good, matte black is a must have for me in a palette, so of course, this palette has it. I use this colour for eyeliner no matter what other palette(s) I may be using for my eye look. It's super blendable but once it's on, it's not going anywhere. Super pretty smoked out on the lower lashline. The rest of the eyeshadows have either a shimmer or satin finish. Not so great for a lot of people, but for me I don't mind. I feel like with such a small palette (in terms of shades), you really need to choose the shades very carefully and I think BH Cosmetics nailed it. 2 browns, a deep purple, a silver, a grey and of course, the black. You can do a super subtle neutral smoky eye or a hardcore, deep dark, one. All of the shades are really pigmented, easy to blend and the quality is amazing. I got mine for $20 and even though I don't like the face products, I feel like the palette was worth every cent. BH make amazing eyeshadows and this palette is no exception.
Tips: To intensify the highlight on the eye, use it wet.
