L'Oreal PRO XXL EXTENSION MASCARA

I love this mascara! It gives me great length and volume as it says it would. Both the wands have this almost grip like design so it really seems to grab each eyelash and coat it with mascara. The second wand has a nice curve to it to help curl your eyelashes but I would still curl my eyelashes beforehand. The only thing I don't like about this is that the ends are not flat so I can't stand it up when I'm applying the mascara; I'd have to hold it or put it on its side. It doesn't budge much but the end of the day there might be a tiny bit of transfer. I will definitely be repurchasing this when my one runs out!

This mascara is not what I would wear everyday, due to there being 2 steps. One end is the primer and the other end is the fibers. It's just a little bit more time consuming for me, having to undo one end then do it up and then undo the other end. The L'oreal pro XXL mascara does give you fuller looking eyelashes and lasts throughout the day but I did notice a bit of smudging on the undereye which has always been a pet peeve of mine when it comes to mascara. It was also fairly easy to remove with just a cotton pad and warm water. Will definitely be using again. Just not everyday.

I'm a die hard two step mascara gal, primer always! I usually have two separate products, primer and mascara - so I was excited to see this mascara is a dual ended with both products in one. Hooray to one less product in my makeup bag!

The formula of the primer (1) is similar to a thin mousse. I was worried that it wouldn't stick to my lashes since it seemed slightly dry, but it did stick giving them a really light coat. The mascara end (2) is a much wetter formula, darker and contains fibres. It layers on top of the primer really well with one coat. A second coat adds a lot more length and volume, without being clumpy. I was cautious that the fibres could make the lashes look too clumpy, but as I kept adding layers, the lashes got longer, not clumpier. I was extremely impressed! The mascara definitely lives up to its claim of 'providing a lash extension effect' and for this reason moves into second place in the rankings of my All Time Mascara Favs.

Applicator - The primer applicator is a nice hourglass shape that allows for a light application. The mascara side is curved which really helps with applying more product, giving curl and volume, and getting to the inner and outer lashes. Wear time - It lasted throughout the whole day, smudge free! I did notice a slight drop in the curl of the lashes around the 4/5 hour mark, but the length wasn't effected. Then, I put it through the sleep test. Yep, I slept in it! There was no smudging, but there was a bit of flaking. The lashes didn't hold their length (I'm guessing the flaked bits came from the length of the lash) but my lashes were still black and coated when I woke up. Tear test - Thanks to Aunt Flo and the PMS that comes with it, I put this mascara through the tears test. It held out pretty well, but it's definitely not waterproof. The wearability reminds me of a tubing mascara as it tends to come off in flakes rather than black smudges down the face. Don't get me wrong, there was definitely still a bit of smudge when the lashes got wet but it was a lot less compared to traditional mascaras.

I was really impressed by this product and it will take a permanent place in my makeup bag. I would repurchase it based on how it makes my lashes look as well as value for money. I would recommend it to a friend, as well as all mascara fans who have managed to get this far through my review. Go grab yourself a great mascara gals - run, don't walk!

I’m always saying this… buuuuut…. I am a natural redhead and devoid of eyelashes and eyebrows. I don’t like having to faff around getting them dyed or extensions etc etc. This is my solution- finally!! The difference is absolutely definitely noticeable. Product is in an attractive tube. Nice and slim to fit in my makeup holder. Step one is an different style of brush head that I’ve never used before and I did struggle at first to get my flow on. But after a bit of practice I got the hang of it.

Step two wand is very easy to use and really defines and extends lashes.

No odour and does not sting if you accidentally poke your eye… (don’t recommend trying that though)

I am a runner and after a 10km run my mascara is still looking ship shape with not a smudge to be seen. Washes off well with standard face cleanser.

A massive plus is the affordability of this one! Retails around $27. This will be my new go to mascara.

Ok I'm a real fuss pot when it comes to mascara's! I was really happy to be chosen for this trial as I do love L'Oreal products and it sounded great.

I liked the tube, the colour was a nice dark purpley colour and quite streamlined. Each end was clearly labelled with a 1 or 2 so you could tell which to put on first. I like how the middle of the tube (part you hold onto) was ribbed like so you could grip it easily.

The brush for the volumising primer is shaped larger at the end than the middle, so I used this first to prime the lashes - on it's own this actually gave my lashes a bit of volume/length at the get go.

The next step is the super fibers - this brush is curved, both brushes are a good size and have the longer bristles which I like. The second step was applied straight after the primer, I wasn't really sure if I should wait for the primer to dry first, so applied straight away. I used the "wiggle" from base to tip to ensure a good coverage.

It actually works really well, it definitely lengthened my lashes and gave them a kind of false lash effect which was great.

I also tried waiting for the primer to dry first before applying the fibre step, but I think it works better if you don't wait for them to dry, that's just my opinion.

One other good thing about this mascara is that I got it to wash off pretty easily, which I wasn't sure about as I'm really fussy about being able to get it off without losing lashes!

I like the mascara and would use it again, the only downside for me is the time to apply several coats and dependent on the price also.

Great mascara for length and volume, it works as it says, is also non-clumpy, and brushes are nice to use. For me the downside is having 2 different products I would prefer 2 in 1 as I tend to just use one end in the haste to get ready. However this is a small downside. It comes off reasonably easily with oil cleanser and only had one instance of it smudging. Overall I liked it.

I really wanted to love this because for special occasions I currently use two different mascaras, one for volume and one for length and this 2 in one product could've solved this. However, unfortunately I didn't love it. I really liked the volumising step one on it's own, I felt it did a great job of adding volume without clumps and the brush didn't have an excess amount of product on it like some mascaras do. But I found when I added step two, the lengthening mascara, it didn't really add to the overall look except for going clumpy and making multiple lashes stick together which kind of undid the volumising effect of step one. So I'll continue to use it but only step one and I don't think I'd buy it again.

I have been using the L’Oreal PRO XXL Extension mascara, this mascara involves two steps via two different wands.

Step one is the volume primer - this layer applies easily and looks great. Step two adds the fibres for lengthening (the wand is curved) - this layer also applies nicely. I found it better to add the second layer straightaway (before layer one dries).

I found the mascara sat neatly on my lashes and lasted well all day. The mascara made my lashes nice and fine/wispy without clumps or flakey (bonus!)

I did struggle to remove the mascara completely at the end of day, as I had black eyes in morning!

Overall, I found this mascara left my lashes looking great!

The only downside is whether I could be bothered with two steps every morning
