e.l.f Liquid Eyeliner Review

I usually love ELF products but this liquid eyeliner was a huge miss for me. It's a bit transparent for my liking and it takes so long to dry that you end up smudging it everywhere. Granted I'm not the best at applying liquid eyeliner but every time I've used this I've ended up with eyeliner all over my hands and sometimes even nose which doesn't happen with other brands. I will not be purchasing this again.

Liquid eyeliner is just something I am learning and I definitely wasn't expecting ELF liquid eyeliner to do the hard bit for me. It's easy to hold. The packaging is a little cheap and plasticy looking but that doesn't bother me at all when it's such a bargain!

My first thought was that it goes on quite dry. As a beginner, I don't know if this is a good or bad thing. If it was runny I would end up with it all over my face but then I didn't feel like it assisted me in putting it on because there was no smooth flow. That could also be due to me being a little bit challenged in this area. Haha. Once I manage to master that, however, I will love this product. It stays on all day and night and keeps looking strong! So as long as you put it where you want it in the first place you'll look fab! xx

I'm glad I went for a cheap liquid liner just in case I decided that liquid liner wasn't for me at all. It's a good way to learn and get the feel for it, in my opinion. :)

I find this liquid liner sooo easy to apply. It is very pigmented and really glides smoothly along the eye and easily creates great shape.

My pet peeve is how long it lasts. It doesn't smudge which is a bonus but it tends to fade and flake after a while.

All in all a great liquid liner for the price. I still often wear it I just avoid it when I know I have a long makeup day ahead.

I adore this eyeliner. Once I have this bad boy on, it's there all day, and if I forget to take my make up off, it's there all night too. I find this eyeliner one of the easiest to apply, as the brush allows you to get closer to the lash line. The colour of this eyeliner is the most opaque out of all of the liquid eyeliners that I have used. I have really sensitive eyes, and unlike other eyeliners, this one has never agitated my eyes at all.

Decided to try this eyeliner out after my other E.L.F liquid eyeliner (in the cylinder tube) ran out. I didn't like the brush at all, I found I couldn't get a good wing from it because the brush was so thin. I found the colour was quite transparent too, so I needed to put multiple layers of it on. For the price you can't really complain, but I'll definitely be sticking to my other eyeliner.

I bought this eyeliner from iherb in a 3pack with two other glitter liners but it sat on my makeup table as i love my Maybelline Precise Liner so much, Then it ran out so i gave this a go. I have to say i love the wand its great to get a wing but unfortunately its not a great staying power eyeliner and wipes away quite easily which i havent found a fix for yet . Above all a average eyeliner but who can complain at $3

This product is really comme ci comme ça, or so-so. The product has a really nice, flexible brush, however it is a bit too thin and therefore to do wings, you must be very precise when filling in. This product is also a bit too watery in consistency and therefore it gets smudged too easily. The colour is nice and opaque, but doesn't have very long wear power and therefore it rubs and flakes off a bit. However, for it's price, this product is good value. Although it's not my favourite liquid eyeliner, if I am in need of one, I will use this.

I bought a three pack of these liners on IHerb for only $3 and considering the cost, they are incredible products. However, if I was to ignore the bargain factor I would like to point out a few issues.

I got a plain black, a gold glitter and a silver glitter liner in the pack. The black liner is very watery and it's quite hard to build into a solid line. To remedy this I had to fill in the line with another liquid eyeliner by Coral Colours - luckily both are matte black so they blended well. I'd also say that the glitter in the gold and silver liners should be a little finer, as I think that would look better on the lid. Those are the only 'cons' that I could see, and they're pretty minimal in the grand scheme of things. There are far more things to love about the product than there are to loathe!

The applicator wands are amazing, I wish all liners were made this way. The black liner has a very fine pin point brush that makes it easy to create a variety of liner looks! Usually I find it hard to get a precision line with most liquid liners as they have a felt tip style applicator - but not the e.l.f liner! It is really awesome :) I found that it was great for creating wings and drawing the eyeliner outline, which I then filled in with a 'felt tip style' liquid eyeliner. Even though I need to use two different products, I think the overal effect is worth it.

I also found that I could line my eye with the black and then put an overcoat of gold or silver liner on top without making the undercoat run. This meant I could create some really striking eye looks!

In terms of wearability, these liners stay put all day! They may be watery when first applied, but once they dry they're there to stay. Best of all, they are as easy to put on as they are to take off! Just wipe with a cloth and they're gone, no panda eyes afterwards. These benefits, along with the price, make this a product worth trying

This was one of the first liquid eyeliners I used to create a winged eye, and I've had a love/hate relationship with it ever since. First of all, I love the slim tip and the precise wing it creates. I also really like the small tube it comes in as its great for travelling with. I don't like that this eyeliner takes a while to dry, and smudges easily. The formula is quite thin, and is a light black, almost grey colour. I find that I always have to apply a few strokes of eyeliner over the same area to get the dark black colour I want. The staying power on this also isn't too great, smudges easily. I still come back to this eyeliner because of its thin tip and the precise lines it gives.. But the formula of this product dissapoints me. Would be great for beginners or when you aren't going out somewhere for a long amount of time. This is also very affordable :)

Moving from a pen eyeliner to this, I am very happy with the result, my winged line is so much more smooth, defined, and darker than when i used a pen. I do find that the end of the brush is quite long and a bit square rather than tapered into a point, which makes it harder to get a really sharp point on my wing, but it is awesome for the price.
