I bought these to wear for a special occasion as my natural lashes are pretty lacking.
I found these easy to apply (though the included glue is not the greatest), and they lasted well, and came off easily at the end of the night.
The lash band is quite thick and the lashes are very full and long so the weight may take some getting used to if you are new to using fake eyelashes. For a less dramatic look you could cut each eyelash to make a half lash, which also makes them easier to apply.
These are easily available at Farmers and pharmacies so are a good last minute option. They are often on special at Farmers too.
A good all rounder for a special occasion.
Tips: Let the glue go tacky before applying! And trim the eyelashes to the size of your eye before use.
The Manicare Glam Eyes Gewn lashes are bold and dramatic...which is just the way I wanted my lashes on the particular day I bought them. They went perfectly with my black smokey eye and red lipstick, and framed my entire face perfectly. However, these lashes are dramatic and the ones I normally use are more natural looking. I'd definitely buy again, but only when I was wanting that particular dramatic look.
Tips: Trim the outside, rather then the inside of the lashes when fitting them.
The lashes themselves are very good, easy to use with a nice band. This particular ones are best suited to a dramatic look, which is not one I often go for, so they were a bit too dramatic for me.
Tips: Great to finish off a full face of make up
SO these lashes are for the party girl, you know the one, the over the top loud girl! Or maybe her ballerina sister, or drag queen brother. But you get my point, they are big and dense and BOLD! I gave them a 2/5 for if I would use them again. Only because for me these are a too much. I love me some lash but I would prefer it was one of those "is she? isn't she?" situations when it comes to recognising I have them on. This is the kind of lash I would keep for a dancing recital, a costume party.... Not really even for a big done up night look. They are long and thick. They do what they say they will do, they are luscious looking. And I would recommend to a friend if she were going to a costume party or something similar. But I wouldn't let a friend buy these for a night out. Good friends don't let friends go out looking like drag queens ;) They have a black band for the lash base which can be tricky to blend without having a good amount of black liner at the lash base as well. Having said all that dancers and stage performers, get on board! these will be perfect for you!
Tips: I wouldn't wear these as is. However cut right down the use the outer third of my eye layered under some individuals across the entire lash line will give a dramatic look with not too much drag to it. I also would get yourself down to MAC and buy some DUO glue to stick them on. Theres nothing wrong with the glue provided but DUO glue is the business, and my worst nightmare is a falsies popping off and landing in my cocktail. They also cut up nicely to use as individual lashes, done be afraid to customise your falsies to what you need.
I have used false lashes quite a lot and these were good. You need to prepare them as in trimming to size first. Then I use a pair of tweezers to hold one end and press them into place, then I use the tweezers to gently press them tight against the base of my lashes. Once they are in place a bit of eyeliner makes them blend in. these lashes are really long and glamorous and my husband commented as they are more full on than my usual look. They lasted the whole night and came off easily. I also liked that they are still in shape after removal and can be reapplied, some I have used are unusable after one use.
Tips: Pre trim to shape, use tweezers to place and then press close to lash line. Remove gently and they will be good to use again.
These lashes were easy to apply and the glue held well enough (though not amazingly.) They looked good too but I would recommend them for one-time use, twice at a push and after their careful removal they weren't in great shape. Still gorgeous though!
Glam eye Gwen lashes are, in my opinion a quite full and dramatic looking lash. For the right occasion they are perfect, nights on the town for example, but too lengthy and thick for everyday. The lashes themselves taper at the ends for a natural finish appose to having a blunt cut off point which I liked. The glue that comes with the product wasn't very good and had a messy/poor application, so opted to my own glue after one failed attempt. I did find that I could reuse the lashes which was nice. All in all i would recommend these lashes but would encourage you to not rely on the glue that comes with the product.
Tips: Be sure to trim your false lash strips from the outside edge so you get the gradual increase in length in the centre of your eye and the dramatic length at the outside to accentuate a dramatic finish. If your having problems applying your false lashes give them a slight bend in the centre so they fit the curved shape of your eye more before applying glue so more of the lash sits on your eye.
As expected these lashes are very full and dramatic. If that is what you are looking for, they are probably the ideal lash for you if you have big eyes and you love the glam look. I prefer more natural looking lashes, however these are good for the right occasion: eg. a dress up party, ball or town. They do look great with dark smokey eyes.
They are a great price and last very well, well worth what you pay. Also for a glue from the packet, it is quite effective and stays on well without having to reapply. The wand makes it easy to apply an even thin layer of glue over the base of the lash.
The biggest downside I think is the shape of the lashes. I find that dramatic eyelashes look a bit better if they have more a winged look, shorter in the inner corner of the eye then quickly increasing outwards to open up your eye. I definitely thought these lashes are too long in the inner corner of the eye. Also I had to trim these lashes as they were too wide for my eye and tended to swamp them (I don't have very big eyes though).
If you love dramatic lashes, these are very glam and full on if you have big bold eyes. But if you are looking for a dramatic but still natural look, I would go for another style.
Tips: Leave the glue for about one minute until it is starting to go clear so it is nice and tacky when you apply it!
These were my go-to lashes for years in high school, they're the perfect length, shape and thickness - for a beginner. Now that I've had time to trial several other brands, I prefer to use sets with invisible bands as they're less irritating and are more forgiving if the lashes are sitting ever so slightly out of place. I still think these are a great quality set for anyone looking for less dramatic falsies.
Tips: Use a clear glue, things can get messy when using gunky white glue!
I chose these for my wedding day! Boy! Was it difficult to get used to wearing them. I had my make up artist put them on, they looked fabulous! The only down side was that after an hour the corner started to come off so had to restick with temporary nail glue! Otherwise they hace a lovely feel to them and made my eyes pop!
Tips: Make sure that you are aware of what they feel like on. I would suggest wearing a pair before your big 'event' as it took quite awhile to get used to them the first time I wore them.
