Glam Pro Magnetic Eyelash system by Manicure consists of two products: a magnetising liquid eyeliner, and magnetic eyelashes, both of which are sold separately.
The magnetising liquid eyeliner has a revolutionary formula that contains tiny invisible magnetising particles, and is long lasting and smudge-proof. The black eyeliner is packaged in a 5ml liquid eyeliner tube with a fine eyeliner brush.
The first time I tried using this liquid eyeliner, it went everywhere (in my eye, smudged on my eyelid) - it was a disaster. Using this eyeliner definitely takes a bit of practice, especially if you're like me and you're used to using liquid eyeliner in a pen style tube. I haven't used liquid eyeliner on a brush for years! Second attempt went better, and the liquid eyeliner stayed in place all day, did not smudge, flake or transfer.
Once the eyeliner was applied, I waited a few minutes for it to dry completely before lifting the magnetic eyelashes out of their case. I have the Natural ones called "Willow", and they're lightweight, reusable, and simply clip onto the eyeliner with three little magnets situated on the lash band. No mess, no fuss.
One thing I didn't like about this eyelash system is that the video on Manicare's website says you can simply pull the "Willow" lashes off and clip on the more dramatic "Khloe" lashes to go from a day to night look. when I removed the "Willow" lashes to show someone what the magnets looked like, it pulled off chunks of eyeliner off my eyelid, so it's not as simple as they say. The magnetic eyeliner does need to be touched up before they can be reapplied, its not as simple as take the lashes off and stick them back on again.
This happened the second and third times that I used the lashes, and I double checked the Manicare video to see if it happened to their "Glambassador" as well, and it looks like it does, although they sneakily cut the video and she comes back with perfect eyeliner before putting fresh lashes on. If you know what you're looking for, you can see where the magnet lifts off her eyeliner in the video, just before they cut the scene. (I'll post a pic of what happened with mine on the Photo Wall).
Overall, this magnetic eyelash system was much easier to use than traditional lashes and eyelash glue. They're easier to fit, as there's nothing sticky on the eyelash band, so you're able to place them right up against your lashes and move them around before having to clip them in place. I loved trialling this system and even though the initial cost is a bit pricey (it's the eyeliner that's expensive), once you have the eyeliner, replacing the lashes if/when they wear out is actually not that expensive. I'd recommend this eyelash system and will definitely continue to use them.
This was a really awesome trial to get and I have really enjoyed trying the Glam By Manicare Magnetising Eyeliner & Lash System.
First you apply the eyeliner, the give it about a minute to dry, then the lashes just stick right to it. It does have a very similar effect to glue, but I personally find it easier and less messy than glue.
The lashes do stay on all day, but like glue ones, can come up at the corners over the course of the day, and need more magnetic liner to fix.
I absolutely love the liner. The lashes were good quality lashes, but I felt needed four magnets, so you could cut them shorter at the end if need be.
This was an amazing improvement from the click on lashes from the likes of Ardell and with these ones I now feel magnetic lashes could replace my glue ones as they actually sit on the lash line and behave just like glue ones. My one suggested improvement would be a whole magnetic like rather than intermittent magnets.
Would I buy them again? Yes.
Tips: Be careful and precise with the eyeliner, otherwise you may use a lot more than you need just fixing around a stray bit of eyeliner.
