I treated myself to Luminous flush from Mecca a wee while ago - and I haven't regretted a cent! I honestly haven't touched a single other blush since I got my hands on it. It is the most gorgeous pigmented pink with a slight coral tone. The texture when applied to the skin is almost creme like and not powdery in the slightest. It can be applied lightly for a subtle look of or built up for a heavier flushed look. In my opinion these blushes are worth every cent and I desperately want to get the trio! - even though I already have Luminous Flush.

Tips: You will be amazed how well the product lasts! I've been using mine every day since I got it, around April and you can hardly tell I have touched it!
It is no secret that I love Hourglass products. I feel like their products are made to enhance natural beauty, and sometimes that is what I am after. After loving so many of their other products I knew I needed this as soon as it came out. Then I saw the Ambient Lighting Blush Palette and I knew I needed it. So this year as I saw it starting to run out on a lot of sites I nabbed it straight of the SpaceNK website. It wasn't the cheapest place to get it but I just needed it.
The packaging is the high end that you would expect. It is in a shiny golden sleek palette that is quite long. The blushes inside are smaller than the usual ones but still big enough to fit your blush brush into without touching all of them at once. It feels very sturdy which is great. There is a small mirror inside the lid as well, although I'm sure I'll never use it.
All the blushes are marbeled in effect and in this you get the shades Luminous Flush (Brighter Pink with Gold), Incandescent Electra (Peachey Pink with a soft cooler pink), Mood Exposure (Mauvey shades). With the wide range of these shades I really feel like for natural blush shades I will never need to buy another blush again. I love that you can just do a light swipe or build up the colour. They all leave a very natural healthy glow across the cheeks which I love. I do find that because of the natural finish they do start to fade on me by the end of the day and would need a touch up at the end of the work day to get them back to the original shade. But because they are so beautiful I don't really mind, also a great product to take travelling as you have a whole lot of blush looks all in one palette.
A beautiful poppy-ish shade with peach/warm undertones. I love this shade so much. Buildable, blendable. I like to apply this with a duo fibre brush so I can work up the colour to a nice healthy glow (because that's the point of blush, right?)
Sure, the Hourglass ALB's are expensive, but they're worth the money. Even the packaging feels very luxe :)
Luminous Flush is a beautiful rosy pink shade with marbled champagne swirls and TINY flecks of shimmer. I love everything about this blush except the shade.
Now I definitely did my research but I guess it's more to do with personal preference. This was described by many non-BR reviews to have coral and I'm a sucker for any coral-like blushes. Unfortunately this blush is just pink pink pink and it could be that I'm so warmed toned that it's so pink but it doesn't give me that lift my other blushes give me. Even when applied on lightly it's still a little too much which is so strange because I'm all about those clown cheeks haha but it turns out even I have a limit.
The blush comes in typical Hourglass packaging - mirrored taupe colour, beautiful and elegant (and so it should since it cost a week or two of lunch money!).
The texture is finely milled and feels soft and buttery when swatching. I notice when you sheer out the product the pigmentation is still strong so less is more beauties. The lasting power is amazing, I had this on for 12 hours and it only began to fade around the 10th hour.
I bought mine online from Mecca Cosmetica, free shipping on purchases over $NZD75 and took 2 working days. Their system isn't too bad but I didn't receive a tracking number even though it says you'll get one.
I don't think I'll purchase any of the other shades as those didn't show up too well on my skintone but they are seriously great blushes just not the shades for me and yes I would still recommend to others.
Tips: Despite not liking the shade I still use it by applying a light layer and adding a more coral-like blush (i.e Milani Luminoso).
There is so much hype around Hourglass at the moment so being a blush lover, (and a makeup addict lets be honest) I had to give one a try. I live hours away from a Mecca counter so purchased this online going off of swatches and online reviews.
My initial impression of the packaging was a little disappointed. The casing is a gorgeous rose gold but is a plastic type material which makes it seem a little cheap in comparison to the luxe metal packaging of other high end brands such as Clarins, or even the sturdy matte plastic packaging of Nars. My first swatch was also not that encouraging, the blush seemed a little powdery and kicked up a huge amount of product when I dabbed my stippling brush into the compact. Changing my brush I swiped it once across my cheek- no difference. Twice, oops too much! Feeling a little robbed I continued on with the rest of my makeup. When I had finished I looked at my blush again- this is when I got it! The blush just melts into your skin seamlessly almost like a cream blush would. The colour is absolutely perfect on my pale skin. I thought there would be a bit of luminosity or shimmer (there is a little super finely milled glitter in the swatch) but instead I just looked really healthy and rosy like I had just been for a walk. Feeling a little more mollified I carried on with my day. At the end of the day I checked out how the blush had fared (as this is usually the first product to fade on me) it was still there almost as good as when I had first applied it. Seriously the longevity of this stuff is quite magical. This is a seriously pricy product but I can see why it is so sought after. If you need your makeup to last all day and you are a blush lover like me then you need one of these in your life! I am still working with this one however in how much to apply to my face without it being too intense.
Tips: Don't use a stippling brush as it kicks up too much product, softer bristled brushes work best here.
These are gorgeous shades but are a waste on my NC42 skintone. I have to really load up the brush and use soo much product to make them show up. I don't have the heart to destash or sell because they're so pretty. But I wouldn't repurchase.
I love this blush, it is a gorgeous colour that applies beautifully. although it seems a bit powdery at first it actually blends really seemlessly into the skin and makes your cheeks look fnaturaly flushed and glowy. The only downside is the price although you do get a decent amount of product, - would definitely repurchase ?(if I ever run out!)
I'm so glad Hourglass have brought out smaller sized versions of their blushes as I've been keen to try one but not wanting to pay $$$.
I have Luminous Flush and in the pan it looks beige with slashes of pink. I was dubious that it would do much on the skin, but I was proved wrong.
One application and my cheeks have the most gorgeous natural flush. And it's buildable without being garish.
The packaging is divine. I love the reflective nature of it and it even has a cute little mirror.
So easy. So gorgeous. Perfection!
I have the shade Incandescent Electra which is a stunning soft coral colour. This colour is wonderful for those with a porcelain skin tone as when used with a light hand, and thoroughly blended, it can look like a natural flush. I also apply this sparingly to my forehead, almost like a bronzer, to add some much needed warmth to my face. However, I believe it would also look beautiful on light and medium skin tones, it would just require more product to build it up.
This blush has a lovely buttery texture that makes blending a dream. I also find that within a few minutes of application this blush melds into the foundation to create a softer more subtle finish, which I personally like. The blush also has a soft shimmer in it which creates a healthy glow.
Tips: If you have fair skin, like me, use a light hand otherwise it might look like you have sunburn.
Hourglass Cosmetics is such an amazing brand, I have tried a few of their products and non of them failed to impress! Their products are expensive for the reason!
I own the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in the shade Luminous Flush, it is described as a champagne rose, it's a beautiful pinky-coral that gives me that natural flush!
The blush is very pigmented and the texture silky. I tend to apply heavy handed when it comes to blushes, Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush is one that you only need to apply a little, light handed to get that natural look or can be build up to a more intense look (If applied too heavy handed I'd end up looking like a clown haha).
Luminous Flush would last all day / 8 hours for work on me. Even when my foundation have faded a bit, the blush still seem to stay on!
Overall I highly recommended this blush, at the moment I am trying to get my hands on the blush palette. ^^ Just can't get enough of Hourglass!
Tips: Apply light handed to avoid turning into a clown! Hahah :p
