This little gem is getting buried with me! Yip! That's right. Never have I expressed such love for a makeup item before. I don't know if it's because it took me so long to build up the guts to purchasing this (kind of pricy), or the fact when I did find somewhere online to buy it from I stuffed it up so badly I sent it on a round the world trip first and was about to pay $50 odd for delivery! Once I Realised my error the company cancelled my order. Since then many friends have heard me cry about how I need this in my life. Where do I buy it from so I'm not making another error? Do I really need it??
Well I brought from Mecca NZ. Easy and I didn't mess up the order. Prices in NZD, quick shipping Done easy! Yes oh yes did I need it in my life!! Like Oh my gawd yes where have you been!
So it got here and looked all pretty in the amazing cover. With amazing mirror and sturdy closing feature. How do I use it?? What's it really for?? So off to youtube I went and watched Jaclyn Hill. Oh my! It made her look amazing.
Off to the mirror I trotted, did what I seen her do and walaa! I looked pretty darn good even if I do say so myself! Had to take a selfie just to see if my eyes were lying, and nope Yay I look good! The comments on IG agree with me. Now that's saying something!
So this delightful pack of 3 magic powders will be always restocked! How do you use it you ask?? Well what I do is get a soft brush, pick either 1 colour or run the brush over all of them, place the brush in your temple and brush out towards your ear. Then start again at the corner of your eye and brush down to the tip of your nose. Add a bit above the cupids bow on your lip and chin and anywhere else you wanna glow!
I've been using it manly over the Rovie mineral foundation powder "Ongelique" and have used it over my Oasis BB cream "The Monroe" So works with powers or creams fine.
It's seriously worth the investment! Off to update the will now! (To be placed beside me in death, do we not part)
The word subtle is splashed across a lot of the online reviews for this product and being chocolate skinned; I wasn't too sure if that would work for me because I love the sparkles in life - in a BIG way :-) But after reading BR's jessickaxnz awesome review I walked out of Mecca with $89 less in the bank (you have been warned haha).
For me this is the perfect setting and finishing powder WHEN I wear minimal makeup (i.e tinted moisturiser, bb cream). It creates a soft "subtle" (there we go haha) glow that still looks like my skin. When I wear full makeup (i.e foundation) I do find it harder to see the benefits but that's mostly due to my skintone and the ongoing drama with looking ashy as opposed to the product itself.
I use my powder brush to apply the product and notice that a bit of powder does kick up so there's some wastage. I don't tap off any excess when applying to minimal makeup because there's no danger of looking like Casper due to the light texture.
I use Radiant Light to set and finish my face while mixing Dim Light and Incandescent Light for my highlight. Dim Light alone is barely noticeable on me so I go a little crazy with it because when you spend that much money you want to use EVERY shade haha.
The reason I think this is worth the money is because I haven't come across any other setting or finishing powder that looks like skin on my skintone and doesn't scream out to the world that I have pores *covers my face*.
If you're after that soft glow from within I highly recommend going into Mecca and sporting the shades on your face for the day to help you make your final decision :-) Do I think it's worth it? $89 well spent.
Tips: To set / finish - Radiant Light To highlight - Mix Incandescent Light and Dim Light Face makeup - Chanel's Tan de Soleil bronzing makeup base
