This is one of those primers which toes the line between hydrating the skin and filling in imperfections along with lasting all day long. However with that I don’t think it does the best job in terms of filling in pores and lines as say benefit porefessional. It is more of an all rounder for those who don’t have super dry skin or big pores to fill. It’s creamy and incredibly luxurious to apply and really helps makeup stick. For me this is best applied in combination with a truly hardcore pore primer. Probably a bit pricy for me to repurchase for that reason

Reviews
My skin is really dry so when I want to wear quite heavy makeup I find this useful to prime with.
I totally agree with this being described as silky and weightless. It really helps my foundation glide on.
Can't say I have noticed it cancel any redness. It does however do a decent job at minimising pores. I really like how it does not ball up like some other primers do on me.
If this was less expensive and worked better for redness it would probably be my holy grail!
Tips: Try the smallest size first, a little bit goes a long way.
This definitely has a signature texture. When you pump the product it comes out almost like a silky foam. When you put it on you feel that texture - addressing any oilyness on your face but not drying either. I have dry skin and I tend to use this in warmer weather as it holds my makeup together longer. Slightly expensive, but keen to repurchase!
Tips: A tiny bit will go a long way.
I use this primer on my skin even when Im not wearing foundation, as it really does make the skin look THAT GOOD. It slides onto the skin really well and a little goes a long way. When Im wanting to look like a dewy youthful goddess this is the primer that I use under my foundation.
I've been lucky enough to score several samples of this, ranging from sachets to 4.11 ml deluxe samples. I've used it happily and would consider purchasing if I were in the habit of needing primer more often.
I love the packaging on these - the glass jar has a spatula in the lid so you can scoop out what you need - this allows you to scrape the sides which is great!
The primer is a stark white, but that disappears on your skin, leaving behind a smooth, balanced canvas on which to create a makeup look.
I don't feel that this necessarily makes the makeup last longer on it's own, but certainly makes a look smoother and more even. Having an SPF in is an awesome extra layer of security as well.
It's pricey, which is why i've not bought one (that and the myriad samples and things i have to use up, which takes ages because i don't always use primer) but I'd definitely consider it if I needed primer more often
Tips: As with many things I review, you can get this in Mecca, and they will happily do samples. Start there to see if you like it :)
Works well for blurring and feels very silky going on. Extends wear of make up nicely.
I do find it can be make my skin looking a bit dry and can magnify my fine lines under eyes. Good if you like a super matte finishing
This would be my favourite primer. It makes your skin feel so silky smooth. I believe it does extend my makeup and makes it much nicer to put on. I'm not sure about redness though. The only reason I wouldn't 100% recommend is due to the price, but a mini is totally worth it
I love how this product feels on the skin, did help with my makeup application and helped it to last. I have dry/normal skin and sat quite nicely. This product is not a go to for me just because of the price.
I originally tried a mini of this I got given at Mecca and didn’t like it but when I got given another sample I thought I’d try it again as I’d heard so many people say they loved it. I realised I had been using way too much and that’s why my foundation wasn’t lasting very long. Once I halved the amount I was using my base looked amazing!! It definitely increases wear time and doesn’t leave me looking like a greasy mess. I would recommend powdering down your foundation as it does tend to create a tiny bit of a white caste just with foundation. I’m guessing it’s the spf in it. I always wear sunscreen everyday so I don’t really see any benefits to having it in the primer but some may like it. It is an expensive product but then it’s by Hourglass so it’s to be expected. The only thing I don’t like is that when you get to the bottom it’s really hard to get the rest of the product out. I used some bamboo skewers broken in half and managed to use the rest of the bottle (needs must right) I’ll definitely purchase this primer again as I really love how my foundation looks on top of it.
I am the queen of the oily t zone - and have forever been on a quest for the perfect primer and foundation combination so that I don't need to blot every 2-3 hours. I have found it!!! I originally purchased a NARS primer from Mecca and was suggested I try the Hour glass primer also so I purchased the smallest vial at $30. I am amazed with this product! I have used it with my 2 fave foundations (Estee Lauder Double Wear and Nars Sheer Glow) and they compliment each other perfectly. I do still find that I need to blot once or even twice during the day but that is nothing compared to how my previous primer/foundation combos have separated in my t-zone. Don't let the price put you off, it really is worth it and once I've finished off my little bottle I'll be heading into Mecca to stock up on the bigger bottles.
