Lovely feel primer

I love how this product feels on the skin, did help with my makeup application and helped it to last. I have dry/normal skin and sat quite nicely. This product is not a go to for me just because of the price.

Hourglass Mineral spf 15 Primer

I love Hourglass products so got the small version of this primer to try out. Personally I like that this has mineral sunscreen in it, although I personally never go a day without a good sized dollop of spf moisturizer all over my face and neck I don like having makeup that boosts that spf protection. The second thing I like is the short ingredients list. It doesn't make me break out and feels really light on my skin. Lastly my makeup lasts and lasts and it pairs beautifully with the same brand of foundation. The big obvious downside is the price $30 for under 10mls and the second one it isn't a photo friendly primer so while your makeup looks so good in person and you want to capture it it doesn't transulate that way with a flash unfortunately. It also leaves a bit of a white cast on your skin, but I guess if you cover it with foundation it's not a huge deal. It didn't help reduce redness for me either and I'm kinda disappointed about that claim. Other than that it's a lovely primer, suits oily skin and goes really well with the foundation from the same line.

Tips: You only need a little bit. I recommend getting the smallest size before you shell out big bucks for the regular size.

Not $82 Worth of Amazing

This is a good product and I would definitely use it again given the opportunity however I would not purchase it or recommend it to a friend to purchase as I don't find it much different than its cheaper alternatives.

I have the 10ml 'vial' and it has lasted me a good 3 months so far with fairly frequent use (not everyday). The packaging is a gorgeous glass vial, which I love, however the applicator is a weird spatula which I find unhygienic - I end up wiping this onto sanitised hands then applying to my face with my fingers. It's probably fine for a 10ml as you use it up pretty quick but I wouldn't want to be doing that for a year with the 60ml version! I far prefer pumps for this type of product.

The product itself comes out a white colour and feels luxuriously smooth and silky. It applies amazingly and a little goes a long way however I feel it turns translucent on the skin (which is fine!) but definitely doest conceal any of my redness. It does make the skin look and feel very smooth however I can achieve this same effect with another 'drugstore' alternate product I own.

I haven't personally noticed any superiority in terms of makeup wear time compared to my other primers and I haven't tested it's claims to repel water.

Overall I feel that this is a really nice luxury product that does most of what it claims but in my opinion there are equal products available far cheaper. I don't think its worth quite that much money however if price isn't an object, this is a really nice primer.

Maybe they have recently changed the packaging...one of the other reviewers said that theirs came in a squeeze tube! I am using the 10ml vile from a Mecca BeautyLoop box, and it has the spatula thing too.

Spatula? My 10ml has a pump so I'm wondering if they changed the packaging. What I like about this is that it is mineral SPF not chemical :).

Doesn’t work with my oily skin

To be honest, I love this in winter but in summer it is a disaster. The formulation is beautiful, doesn’t feel siliconey (is that a word?) and just sit beautifully over my moisturiser!! But in summer, EVERYTHING just falls off my face !! Makeup starts separating etc. it’s good to use a water based primer with a water based product or vice versa which I did, but still no luck !! I would recommend but just not for oily skin.

Doesn't tick all the boxes for me

I like this primer but it doesn't tick all the boxes of what makes a great primer. The main reason I picked this up is because it's good for the skin - it doesn't break me out, it hydrates and I feel like my skin has had some love under all my "face paint".

I have the 60ml in the new soft tube packaging and I feel they should have kept the old packaging with the pump. The primer is runny and there is very little control on how much you squeeze out. The primer has a white cast to it so for the chocolate beauties out there you will need to rub/blend this baby out because ashy kodak moments will never be in - ever.

Unfortunately the primer doesn't help to make my "face paint" last longer and it could be because I have oily skin so I find that I have quite the shine at the end of the day which is strange considering it doesn't happen with other primers.

I wouldn't repurchase this again but I do feel it takes care of my sensitive skin.

Tips: If you have the soft tube packaging, hold the tube horizontally and tap the top of the tube to dispense a small amount of the product.

I apply moisturiser then the veil primer for skincare benefits followed by W7 Magic Face primer for prolonging my makeup.
