The first couple of days I wore this blended over my whole face. Its definitley full coverage (a plus for me) and VERY mattifying. It was also long wearing and didnt rub off too much under my mask that I wear at the office. I thought my skin looked very 'tired' and dehydrated by the end of the day. So, on the third day, I applied it with the sponge dampened and it was a better result...smooth skin, no cakeyness...a consistency that better suited my skin.

Tips: Experiment with different ways of applying..the dry sponge, the damp sponge, and a powder brush as well. Find the best method to suit your lifestyle and skin needs.
This powder foundation comes in a sturdy compact - it'll survive in your handbag!
I used a brush to apply rather than the applicator it comes with - i had to push quite hard to pick up product. It does blend evenly into the skin though.
I was surprised there were only 4 shades in the range but True Beige seemed to work well for me.
It's by no means full coverage, but it does give a nice matte and even base. It didn't sink into my wrinkles and it definitely didn't go cakey.
It lasts the day and doesn't end up looking grubby.
I really enjoyed it, I would use again, but on good skin days. For breakout days I'd need something a bit heavier.
The powder format is very, chalky. It's sort of like wet chalk. Which when you first go to use it a bit strange. It's not like a mineral powder foundation where you're able to amass a bit of product on the brush, you kind of have to work to get the product onto the sponge.
Once it's on the sponge its pretty easy to apply, but it can take a firm hand to blend through, and it does seem to take a long time to do that, which is a bit of a PITA.
It does last though - I mean my days of partying 24hours are over, but it lasts a full working day, in heat, no dramas. The finish is beautifully matte and the texture on the skin is light.
It's a good foundation, it just takes a bit of getting used to.
Tips: Use a damp sponge for easier application.
For starters I chose a shade that was a bit too light for me as I don't usually buy this brand I just made a guess. The compact case is nice, fits in your hand well. It has a nice big mirror and space for a possibly larger replacement sponge. The foundation has a mild scent kind of reminds me of the smell of Nivea moisturiser which I dont particularly like. The foundation is velvety smooth and very pleasant to apply. I personally think you need a primer first or better application and finish would be with a brush as opposed to a sponge but that's just my preference. I like the matte finish as I get a bit oily throughout the day, I did have to top up my t zone but it was quick and easy and to be honest I haven't come across a product yet that delivers all day so no points lost there. This product is probably better for the warmer months for me as the cold drys my skin which isn't great for a powder. In saying that I'm not the biggest fan of liquid foundation. Overall I will use it but I won't go out of my way for this product, I have tried better powders at similar price points that I rate higher. The best thing about this product is the feel factor, didn't feel like I had makeup on and felt nice to apply.
Tips: Much better application with a powder brush
First impression about the packaging was great, its a lovely compact and feels nice in the hand. I researched the product online for instructions on how to use as I have not heard the term foundation in a powder and wanted to get the best use of it. There are multiple was listed to use it, as a T-zone mattifying powder with a dry sponge or as a foundation with a damp sponge, a setting powder with dry sponge or a brush. Used over foundation as a t-zone powder I found it to be really cakey and emphasized my pores and fine lines. Used as a foundation I tried using a dry brush and blending but the coverage was next to none. Using a damp sponge it does go on ok as a foundation but kind of "pills" on the skin. It also gave off a really strong white cast and made blending other makeup products near impossible. Regarding wear time, it did not last a full work day.
Overall I was disappointed in this product because my hopes were so high, the only way I found to use it effectively was with a dry brush and a very light touch and use as a setting powder.
Tips: Large dry brush not sponge
I had high hopes for this foundation but unfortunately it was a fit for me. I found it extremely hard to blend and very drying. I tried using a hydrating primer but even with that it was quite cakey. It did work slightly better with a good blending brush instead of the sponge it comes with and I tried it using a large brush as more of a setting powder which kind of works. This foundation was not the right fit for me but the packaging was very appealing and the product itself looks and feels well made. I will keep trying other ways to make it work for me.
Tips: Use a blending brush as apposed to the spine it comes with.
I was impressed after receiving this and couldn’t wait to try it out. The case is just gorgeous and stylish with the red and silver.
The little case has a sponge for applying underneath where the foundation is- so cute!
The foundation was the exact skin match for me. The formula was really nice and light. My skin looked lovely and flawless. I’m normally a liquid foundation user, so this was a really good change!
I liked the look of my skin using this. No issues with my sensitive skin and covered imperfections. Didn’t stay as well as my normal foundation. But felt so nice on my skin and made my skin look healthy and so much better.
Overall I’m impressed with this foundation and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend.
Tips: You should give this a go!
A lovely compact comes with a sponge and mirror. I have always applied my powder foundation with a brush so it felt quite different applying with the sponge. It applies quite full coverage Matt. It feels lightweight but found it a little cakey on my skin. Settled into fine lines and became a bit shiny by the end of the day. It was ok but not the best I have tried,
The first time I used it (using the sponge that's included in the packaging), the powder crumbled and left a mess on my sink. Then I made a mistake of carrying it in my handbag, thinking it would be safer than carrying a liquid foundation. I was wrong. Powder crumbs everywhere! I tried doing touch up in the car, crumbs extravaganza again. Then the next time I used it, the whole "cake" of powder literally dislodged out of the packaging! I managed to catch it and stuck it back in. Every single time I used it, it crumbled more. By now you should know that the faulty/badly designed packaging isn't my favourite part of this foundation. Messier than using a liquid foundation. I tried using isopropyl alcohol to fix it, but unfortunately it isn't fixable.
Does it fulfill the claims though?
- Covers and lasts like a liquid foundation: actually yes, it does. A single swipe covers a multitude of uneven skin. A gentle swipe has given enough coverage for my panda eyes. Unfortunately it refused to work long on my T-zone.
- Mattifies with no cakeyness: mostly yes to mattifying, but it turned mottled pretty quickly on my T-zone when applied using the sponge. Makes my skin looks like tree barks. It doesn't like the moisturiser/toner/both that I used. Grabbed anything and everything that I used on my face. The powder produced better results when used with a powder brush. Either way, T-zone gets shiny after much less than 2 hours.
- Sweat-proof: no idea as my face didn't normally get sweaty.
- Heat & humidity proof: not for T-zone.
- Full coverage: again, not for my T-zone.
I'm a bit sad, as the shade 130 True Beige is perfect for me. I also like the look of the packaging and the cute mirror in it. But it's way too much efforts for me to apply it, much longer than applying a liquid foundation. A great idea, if only they could make a formula that's more portable and less crumbly!
The coverage on this for a powder was insane! I could have bet money from the finish that this would have to come from a liquid. The finish was next to flawless and it wore really well. I wore it on a warmer Dunedin day last week and still felt like my skin could breathe. The matte finish was the final selling point ot left my skin looking smooth and clear with no hint of shine.
Tips: A must have product for your make up bag!
