L'Oreal Paris Superliner Perfect Slim Eyeliner Intense Black Review

It did what it said - an intense sweeping line in one stroke with a felt-tip eyeliner and its grip zone hold. But during my review of this eyeliner, I resisted myself to yawn because every "Watery" feeling around my eyes, this started smudging straight away! I would expect an eyeliner to be at least waterproof but this just was not. If you apply eyeliner away from the root of your eyelashes - or have dry eyes, this might work. For everyone else - especially for someone like me, who wears contact lenses, this is not for you. It might work if you want to practice at home - but don't try wearing this and send your evening..

When I received the product, probably the first thing I noticed was the ergonomic grip for holding; which is always a bonus with liquid eyeliner, and a plus in my books. I of course made some lines on the back of my hand to check the formula and it seemed all okay. Now, creating winged looks is no challenge for me, I've been doing it for years, and was excited to see how thin I could go - as I tend to do more subtle wings these days - but alas...I couldn't get much product off the very end of the tip, only the fatter part of the brush end. I tried and tried, but it felt so incredibly dry and difficult to run a thin, solid, line over my lids. In all fairness, I have huge eyelids and they do have a bit of skin to get through, but it seemed the formula only wanted to come off parts of the brush/end, rather than apply in a fluid motion that liquid liner typically does.

The formula itself is actually fine, what I did manage to get on, didn't budge after being applied and lasted the entire night.

I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt and hope that perhaps I just got a dud, but when I consider the price point and what else is on the market, this product failed to differentiate itself. When I ask myself if I would be happy to pay for this product, or would I repurchase? No, not really.

Let me first start by saying that I am not well versed with liquid eyeliner. I would love to be because it always looks so beautiful on those fortunate women who master the application of it, but I just haven’t been able to get the hang of it. So if you are one of the fortunate ones, my review might not be as useful for you. But if you, like me, struggle with liquid eyeliner application then this review is for you.

I was excited by this eyeliner as I promised a ‘sweeping line in one steady stroke’, but alas it wasn’t to be. The ‘grip zone’ design sounded wonderful, but did little to help with my control during application. The tip of the eyeliner is long and sleek which I thought would help with ease of application, but it didn’t seem to make much difference for me.

The product however was a beautiful black colour, and given the ability to apply it correctly, I believe would leave a lovely smooth result.

The one thing I can definitely say, even though it wasn’t promised, I can confirm that this eyeliner is definitely long wearing. Even with eye makeup remover I struggled to remove this product, especially right along the lash line.

So while this product is certainly not for me, I can absolutely see potential benefits for women with more liquid eyeliner application experience.

I am currently trialing this precision felt-tip eyeliner, thanks to Beauty Review picking me for the trial team. The colour is Intense Black and it's a liquid eyeliner. It has a grip area on it making it easy to hold while applying. Super Liner Perfect Slim is like most eyeliners in appearance, it's pencil-like with a lid at the end. The font on the front of it is gold and easy to read on the black shiny eyeliner pencil.

I have used this eyeliner for a few days this week. I first swatched it on the top of my hand and it created a stylish, intense sweeping line. In one stroke, it glided on easy and looked precise. I tried it out again, doing the same with a little more pressure and the line turned out thicker and bold. It was fast drying with a black matte finish. I tried a subtle flick at the ends of my eyes to start with. The eyeliner was easy to use. The grip on it helped me use the felt-tip liquid liner with precision. It stayed put pretty much all day without smudging. Later on, in the evening, it wasn't too hard to remove with a cotton ball and makeup remover. I've been using Super Liner Perfect Slim daily to enhance the shape of my eyes for my everyday look. I have tried liquid liners in the past but haven't been too confident with using them. I found this one is easier than others to use, maybe because of the precise tip and because it's pencil-like. Brush-tip liquid eyeliners have been hard for me to use in the past. (Always end up with wobbly winged eyes.) If you're a liquid eyeliner lover though, this would be a great beauty tool to have in your makeup kit to take your everyday look from day to night. Perfect for winged eye and cat eye looks or for beauty spot dots.

I don't think I'd purchase this product myself as they're a little expensive for my budget and I prefer eyeliner pencils to line my eyes. They're easier to use and more my preference. However, I will continue to use this L'Oréal Paris Super Liner Perfect Slim until it's all gone and trial this product.

I like felt tip eyeliner, and I use them all the time. This LÓreal Eyeliner makes nice thin lines, easy for a cat-eye but I did find that it started smearing throughout the day, especially in the outer corner creases of my eye. I feel like there is nothing spectacular with this, and the creasing makes me not want to buy it again. I do like the colour payoff - it is quite a jet black.

The tip was amazing very precise and easy to get a nice winged flick.

The formula when first applied was a bit wet and took a while to dry, when i first applied to looked quite dark and shiny. Once dried however i found it not to be a strong of a black and also became matte.

It claims to be able to apply in one "clean sweep" can't say I was able to do it but i don't have the steadiest hands so maybe with more practice i will get there.

over all is it the best let liner I've tried no, but it does the job and does it well. i just wish it stayed a stronger black colour once dried.

Did I think this product blew me away? No. But I would recommend it if you're looking for a well priced liquid liner without the mess. Felt tip liners are generally drier formulations so I find I can get a bit more precise with my application without worrying I'll get specks of product everywhere. The only negative with this one is that the felt tip itself is quite hard, so be gentle when you're using it. There is good colour payoff although it's not jet black, and the finish is matte and relatively long lasting.

I am used to using an eye liner pencil, due to many bad experiences with liquid eye liners in the past, so was a little nervous and apprehensive but am now looking forward to continuing on my liquid eyeliner journey.

I can't say I was able to do it in one sweep like it claims but maybe with a bit more practice I will be able to achieve that. It has a very very pointy thin tip which made for excellent precision. I was able to get super close to my eyelashes without getting it all over my eyelashes and making a mess.

It was very wet and took a while to dry and as such it ended up transferring onto my lower eye - which actually looked pretty good so I am not really complaining. My eyes did go quite red the first few times I used it but I put that down to my eyes not being used to wearing that much product ... and its hayfever season.

I never felt like I applied too much product but my makeup pads at the end of the day told a whole different story.

It comes in sleek black packaging with a finger grip which didn't actually make any difference when using. I can see where they were going with the idea but it wasn't necessary. Looked quite cool though.

It never smudged or budged or wiped off during the day so my eyes looked just as good when I got home from work as they did when I left for work and for me that's what I am looking for in a product.

I normally prefer to use kohl or pencil eyeliners, as they’re quicker to put on. The few felt tips I have take longer to put on,

The positive: I love the highly pigmented colour and how consistent the ink flow is. It is easy to grip. Easy to remove, too.

The negative: it smudged pretty badly when I didn’t use it with eye primer. I need to literally powder my lids first before the eyeliner has some sort of staying power.

I wouldn’t be buying it, but I’m guessing it could be fine for people with dry eye lids.

I quite liked this product, but it’s not my favourite. It’s easy to apply and I like that the line is fine so that you can build it up if desired. I found that the finished result wasn’t as long lasting as I’d have liked, but not in a smudging way, more of a fading out way. I’d use it again but I mightn’t buy it again.
