Lime Crime Velvetines

I was quite unsure whether to jump on the lime crime bus. I had seen some mixed reviews, and it took my a long time to take the plunge.

I first bought one of these, and I wear it nearly every day. I love that I can put it on at home in front of my mirror every morning, eat and drink and all the usual things one does and come home time it is still on.

I'm forever touching up lipstick, but I simply don't need to with this. It is amazing - a must have for every make up lover

I bought my first ever LC Velvetine for a Halloween look, and I was worried about transfer and longevity of the lippy.. no one wants it to look worn out after a few drinks or have to constantly touch up.

Well first the packaging: very sleek, cute and girly but not in an unsophisticated way. the cost: well it is up there, but is it worth it... yes... and no. Yes for day to day colours but not for once offs or colours you will only wear now and then.

The lippy: it's a smooth liquid, smells of a hint of vanilla... glides on effortlessly. I was worried being a liquid as I am used to bullets only so thought it would take a bit to get used to but have had no issues applying just the right amount and no bleeds/runs or transfers... just make sure product is dry before you eat/drink or kiss :) It lasted a few hours before I needed to touch up but that was more due to the dark colour and wear showing up more readily.

Removal: a good make up remover is a must especially with the dark shades

Dryness is to be expected with this type of product so make sure you have a good lip balm t the ready and prep those lips before hand... flakes are not a god look.

I LOVE THESE. And as they are a little pricey for my pocket i went in search of cheaper dupes. But after trying a few of the other 'matte lip laquer' type lippies It didn't take long to conclude that there is NOTHING in this world that is as good as these! These are the Lip sticks of all lip sticks and I love them. The packaging is cute, the colour pay off is fab and only a little product is needed AND it lasts HOURS!!! They are worth their money for sure and If my pocket allowed, I'd have them all!!! <3 <3

I have three Lime Crime velvetines and I really love them, especially red velvet. They dry into a matte finish on your lips and literally last hours so they're great if you're going to a party and don't want to keep reapplying lippy if you're drinking. Super impressed with the formula, hope they bring out more colours :)

I have Pink Velvet and i love love love it!!! Its a nice deep fuchsia pink colour. Gorgeous packaging as always from lime crime! I love the roses!! :) The wand makes the lippy easy to apply too. The formula drys to a matte finish and you don't need to reapply very often like other lippys. It has awesome staying power, it lasts for hours!! If you have dry lips you definately need to moisturise first with a lip balm. I have also put a gloss over the top if my lips feel a little dry and have found it to last well also. It smells nice too! I would love to get Utopia as well!! They are worth the money and I definately would recommend this lippy to anyone!! :)

I've been tempted to invest in a matte lip colour for a while now, but have been a bit skeptical as I've heard issues about bleeding etc. I got the opportunity to try a LC Velvetine and was instantly converted - they look amazing on and I got so many compliments on it, plus it lasted hours without needing to be reapplied (even when drinking and eating). I'm tempted to go out and buy the whole collection now!

I was amped to finally be able to purchase a LC Velvetine after hearing so much positive praise about them. Utopia had recently been released and I had to have it.

I was a little anxious at first try, I hadn't really ever used a liquid matte before and I worried how it would wear, but honestly, it's such a beautiful formula and wears so well.

I find that I need to prep my lips first, as they do dry out a wee bit with this. A quick sugar scrub followed by a light application of a hydrating balm is enough to set the colour for long-lasting wear. I love that I can apply it and not have to worry about smearing and smudging (ain't nobody got time for that!).

I always get complimented when I wear this shade, and I really think it suits everyone.

I just heard LC are pulling out of NZ & Australia, so I need to get Suede Berry and Pink Velvet before they're gone!

I was excited enough to place my first order for some limecrime a few weeks ago and was extremely excited to try it out. I purchased Red Velvet, it is the perfect Red ever and I was happy with my choice.

Firstly the packaging is sleek and stylish and very girly which I love to bits. The applicator is very easy to use and the product smells amazing!

The wear was good although I did find a few problems with it. You need to prep, prep and prep your lips! This is with any lip product application but especially with the velvetiness. As they dry matte, if you have any dry skin at all on your lips it causes flakes and doesn't look very nice. You need to make sure you use a lipliner because I found that in the corners it does bleed abit.

I also found it extremely hard to remove. Overall I did like the product, and will keep trying it until I found combination that works for me.

I was lucky enough to be gifted one of these from a friend - Utopia, and the other Pink Velvet I picked up from Cosmic Corner online here in NZ. Lime Crime are no longer going to be stocking Aus and NZ though but from what I have heard from others ordering directly from the Lime Crime website is quick and has excellent customer service. I also follow the founder Doe Deere on instagram, she is the coolest woman!

Pink Velvet is a super bright pink, bordering on highlighter pink which I love. Utopia is more of a purple with a touch of pink. I'm still not used to wearing a purple, I see it on myself in the mirror and get a wee shock! Bare in mind there are no plain colours in this range so they are all different. I think this is awesome and brings something special and different to a makeup range.

The packaging on these is beautiful. The bottom is a clear frosted acrylic so you can see the shade of the lipstick through the packaging which I love. The lid is a dark shiny red with some pink roses on it. It says Lime Crime in white on the side and has the logo on the top, two unicorns. It feels high-end and classy. The applicator is a doe foot applicator which is quite short in length compared to other applicators I have used. I found the applicator easy to use which was a bit of a shock given the bright colour I expected it to be a lot harder to use.

The colours go on smoothly and almost glossy at first. They don't dry down straight away so you have some time to get them in the right place. They are a wee bit drying when they become matte but I think that is to be expected. Once dried down they also stay on really nicely. I do find the middle budges a bit when eating etc, but the outter stays put. Also when you reapply after eating etc it still sits nicely and looks like one layer.

I can't believe I took so long in trying Lime Crime products, so happy with the quality of these!

I was so excited to try this after all the rave reviews. Nice attractive packaging very pretty, nice to see the level off the lippy and a nice sponge tip applicator. So nice primed lips and a great pencil lip liner around the edge I carefully stick this on my lips evenly all over stick my finger in my mouth and pull it out I hate lippy on my teeth. And such a lovley deep pigmented colour very matt and my lips knew I had it on them sort off a drying feeling. This colour lasted a couple off coffees and lunch with no topping up around 6 hours, and when it decided to come off it was quite patchy but it was the end off the day and the rest off it just came off with makeup remover easy as. My lips did feel dry all day and even through this is a long wearing lippy I have had ones that last as long but are more comfortable for my lips and around the same price. A great lasting product I won't probably wont repurchase as I like soft lips.
