Such a gorgeous colour!, a little goes a long way with this product, it goes on full and with a heavy pigment. However, i found its staying power wasnt too effective and am left with it only on the outer lip and it had all worn off in the middle within a couple of hours or after a drink

Tips: to avoid it coming off an leaving only the outer, apply a bright pink lip liner underneath and fill in the enitre lip before applying this product
i love Lime Crime, so a week ago i decided to get the Velvetine Wicked and i love it :) quite dark but gorgeous, got so many comments on it. I hope they bring out more soft colours as theyre all quite bold (which i love but a soft colour would be nice); but overall amazing product :)
Tips: First time i applied it i found it hard to get a straight line with the applicator, so take your time while applying this :)
I love the look of matte lips, so I am a fan of Lime Crime Velvetines. The colours are rich and stay on for a long time. It does rub off after a while, it almost chips off from the inside of the lips, but need to worry about it coming off when you eat or getting any on your teeth!
As it is also a stain you need to be careful when applying because once it goes on it is hard to get off.
Tips: The only downside is that they can dry out your lips a bit. So it is a good idea to use a lip balm or moisturiser beforehand to stop any cracking on your lips.
I loved the Lime Crime Velvetines, although they do dry out your lips. I put lip balm on top every couple of hours which seems to do the trick.
Tips: Make sure you use a good lip liner as the colour bleeds.
Absolutely love lime crime products!!!! It's such long lasting an the color holds amazing!!! I would recommend this to anyone an also can't wait to try out some of the brighter colors
I have tis in pink velvet i purchased it as i wanted something long lasting for going clubbing without having to reapply throughout the night whist drinking and I was not dissapointed. Firstly the packaging is so cute with the metalic looking lid. I dont think this is a colour i would personally wear day to day but defineatly one for those nights out. Its long lasting and doesnt come off! The formula is very drying so I have to use my lip scrub and moisturise before i apply. The finish is matte but if you prefer a glossy look you can always apply your favourite lipgoss over it. Im unsure how to discribe the smell but its defineatly not unpleasant.
Tips: Precicion is key, it takes practice so dont worry if it doesnt look perfect first time practise makes perfect.
I own black velvet and utopia and love them both! They don't dry out your lips and last quite a few hours. It's great when going out clubbing and don't want to keep re applying your lippy. Utopia is such a vibrant colour that it's easy to have subtle eyes and look great! Certainly need to stock up on the rest of the colours.
The only downfall with the velvetines, and any other dry, matte lip colour is that to much application can leave the colour looking cracked and actually start to chip off. So any re application only needs to be on the bare part of the lips, or remove it all completely and start fresh!
Tips: Line your lips with a matching lip liner before applying the gloss. Helps keep the shape of your lips!
I was lucky enough to be gifted Lime Crime Utopia by one of the beautiful BRAs - and I was SOOOO excited! I've always wanted to try one, but my wish list is insane and it kept being pushed down the list by other 'must haves'.
First of all, I adore the packaging - it's so fun and funky, but still manages to look like a luxury product. But is it as beautiful on the inside as it is on the outside? Absolutely. I love the liquid formula. It went on easily, although you do have to be careful as it can bleed a bit on older lips, and if you go over your intended lip line it can be a mission to fix. The first time I nailed it, but since then I've had to have a couple of goes each time I wore it. It doesn't take long to dry and after that it's stuck on your lips. Seriously! I smooched my wee girl and she didn't have a mark on her. There were marks on my coffee cup, but it didn't translate to a loss of colour on my lips. Amazing!!
So did it last for long? Yes. It easily went four hours before I wanted to give it a wee touch up. But that being said, my experience did change on different days. On the days where my lips were smooth and hydrated, the Lime Crime stayed on longer and looked fresher, and when I did reapply it applied nicely. However on days where I'd forgotten to exfoliate and moisturise my lips it looked quite cakey and dry rather quickly.
That being said I would still recommend - if you're not one for fussing about with your lips after the initial application, this is a winner!
Tips: BR have taught us it's a crime not to prime, and the same goes for this product. It's a crime not to prime before you apply Lime Crime.
I bought my first ever LC Velvetine for a Halloween look, and I was worried about transfer and longevity of the lippy.. no one wants it to look worn out after a few drinks or have to constantly touch up.
Well first the packaging: very sleek, cute and girly but not in an unsophisticated way. the cost: well it is up there, but is it worth it... yes... and no. Yes for day to day colours but not for once offs or colours you will only wear now and then.
The lippy: it's a smooth liquid, smells of a hint of vanilla... glides on effortlessly. I was worried being a liquid as I am used to bullets only so thought it would take a bit to get used to but have had no issues applying just the right amount and no bleeds/runs or transfers... just make sure product is dry before you eat/drink or kiss :) It lasted a few hours before I needed to touch up but that was more due to the dark colour and wear showing up more readily.
Removal: a good make up remover is a must especially with the dark shades
Dryness is to be expected with this type of product so make sure you have a good lip balm t the ready and prep those lips before hand... flakes are not a god look.
Tips: Exfoliate your lips regularly and use a decent balm in between use. If you use a gloss or another lippy over this product it will wear off and loose staying power.
And I am converted. Have seen lot's of my friends making purchases recently and have finally jumped on the bandwagon. My biggest issue was I didn't want to buy them online, I wanted to see them in real life and swatch the colors. I discovered a shop in Wellington CBD sells them, so off I went. I purchased 'Suedeberry', a bit brighter than I initially wanted, was on the hunt for 'Wicked' but obviously it was sold out. Goes on somewhat easy but I think it will take a while to master, I would definitely recommend lining your lips first to avoid it bleeding out. I love that its touch proof but the inner did wear throughout the day with eating and drinking but nowhere near as much as what a normal everyday lipstick would have. I loved being able to go into a meeting and not worry about smudging or needing to re-apply. I will definitely get 'Wicked' when the new stock comes in.
My only issue was the removal.. not as simple as just wiping it off, the only thing I found in my bathroom that actually took it off was my toner, which probably wasn't the best thing for my lips so any suggestions would be welcomed!
