I umm'd and argh'd about whether or not to purchase this palette; like many I was distraught when Lime Crime stopped stocking NZ shelves but I since then I have continued to buy directly from them online. I read so many great reviews on this palette and watched countless tutorials on using it that eventually I just had to buy! and I wasn't disappointed! I feel as if I am still a beginner when it comes to blending etc so from a newbie's point of view the application of this palette came as a breeze! All colours go beautifully with one another ensuring a foolproof finish each and every time.
Immediately I was in awe of the packaging, its simply stunning! I was impressed by the quality of the eye shadows all of which were extremely pigmented and not crumbly at all. Each eyeshadow is individually named which is both cool and so helpful (particularly when following tutorials!).
I do feel as if I don't use this palette nearly as much as I would like too, perhaps this is because it does create a particular kind of look (grunge) no matter what combination used. But regardless of this I am so happy I have this in my collection and I would not hesitate to recommend it to others.
This palette was my first experience with Lime Crime eyeshadows, and for the most part I wasn't disappointed. 7/8 shades are decently pigmented and easy to work with. Venus: slightly shimmery dark red/burgundy, very pigmented Shell: glowy pink duochrome, pretty pigmented Aura: glowy champagne/gold, pretty pigmented Crration: burnt orange/brown, very pigmented Icon: weird shimmery brown, extremely sheer (worst shade in the palette) Rebirth: bright shimmery coral/pink, very pigmented Divine: light purple/brown, good crease colour, buildable pigment Muse: deep red, very pigmented but slightly weird texture, almost like tiny crumbs
Overall this is a pretty good palette, I love the colours, the shade names are cute and the packaging is gorgeous. It's a very well thought out palette but I wish the brown was matte and actually pigmented. It's barely useable, so that's really disappointing. For a vegan and cruelty free palette, it's definitely a great option if you like warmer toned shadows. I'd definitely recommend it despite the few problems it has.
