Picked one up during a farmers sale and wow what a punch in the lips! I brought the hot pink version and it zings with pigments. The applicator is average, but it gets the products on the lips so that's a plus. The only thing that I have a problem with was flaking, after 3 hours my lips had caked up a bit, a touch of lip balm help blend it back out again and it stayed ok for the rest of the afternoon. The flaking might have been down to prep of my lips because the next time I wore it didn't flake as much, so I wouldn't mark it down for that. All in all a good matte finish for a good price that you can get a hold of pretty easy.

Australis Velourlips Matte Cream
What is it?
Highly pigmented lips are the look of the moment, and this lip cream takes it to the next level with its beautiful matte finish! The creamy long-wear formula glides on easily with its doe foot applicator, finishing to a velvety matte look with intense, full coverage colour payoff. Perfect for when you want lasting, matte colour that moves with your lips without flaking.
Time for a change from gloss! It applies creamy, lasts all day and finishes with a soft suede look.A matte lip cream that moves with your lips so you don’t have to worry about caking and flaking.

Tips: Prep your lips, give them a scrub after wearing and some balm before applying the velourlips, It seemed to dry out my lips by the end of the day which I think is what caused the flaky episode.
Iv'e tried many liquid to matte lipsticks and I find the velour lips average in quality. They do tend to take a while to dry on your lips so its kind of annoying applying but other than that they are good for the price. My velour lips just sit in my collection and never get used sadly.
These are fun, super bright in amazing colours and long lasting! They do taste a bit funny but not bad for the price of 17.50.
Longwearing but drying Bright but wear unevenly Probably beautiful on lighter and darker skin tones, but as someone with olive skin set distinctly in the middle, I couldn't make any of the fluorescent colours work for me (Mali-boo, Rio-d and Tok-i-o). I love matte lip creams but these were too thick for me and so difficult to get off, and when they wore off they were so patchy that I got incredibly paranoid
Tips: Make sure your lips are moisturised
I bought two of the Australis Velourlips when they were free with the Girlfriend magazine, I thought it was too good an opportunity to miss out! I find them alright, not terrible but not amazing. They have great pigmentation but I find to make it matte I have to blot my lips, otherwise they remain wet and blotchy. There are a lot better matte lipsticks out there, so unless they come free with a magazine, I wouldn't bother.
Tips: If you have dry, cracked lips I would recommend a lip scrub before you apply this and plenty of lip balm, the formula is rather drying so it emphasises dry lips.
The pigments are amazing, the stay put and definatley go matte. Everything the product is meant to do.... But it's the problem also. Hard to remove and they are so matte the make your lips very dry. If you have cracked or slightly dry lips steer clear these will only emphasis them.
Tips: I use the Rio-D Velour lip (Bright orange) over top of my Mac Snob lipstick to create a beautiful coral colour
After I told her I had tried Chi Chi's matte liquid lipstick and loved it.
I HATED this. It was super gluey, flakey and didn't dry very well. The pigmentation was blotchy and I really wouldn't recommend this whatsoever.
Tips: If you are after amazing liquid lipsticks I highly recommend MUA's Velvet lip Lacquer or Chi Chi's Matte liquid lipsticks.
The colours are all beautiful and they are quite pigmented. They last fairly long on your lips, but they are so drying it's disgusting. They also are sticky on my lips, it feels like I have glue on them and it's disgusting. It makes my lips flake, whereas my other lipsticks have never done that, I always have lovely hydrated lips.
Tips: Just don't buy it please.
This was the first matte lip cream I tried and I was so disappointed because I adore matte lipstick. This was thick, cakey, streaky, dried to a fully matte finish - not velvet in my opinion. It did not move with my lips, in fact it cracked and flaked. I tried this various ways - on bare hydrated lips, over lip balm, with a lip brush for sheerer layers, over lip liner, nothing worked, it was the same each time. Very uncomfortable to wear. I have since tried 2 other matte lip cream products that are much better than the velourlips.
I both adore and dislike Velourlips! Firstly, the colours are gorgeous and he pigmentation is out of this world! I have the orange (Rio-D) and pink (Ma-Li-Boo) and they are so intense (in an awesome way).
However, they're a bit too high maintenance for me to want to wear them all the time! Your lips need to be super smooth and moisturised before applying the Velourlips if you want a flawless look that stays put, otherwise they look flakey/patchy or the colour wears off quickly. This puts me off wearing them if I'm in a rush/feeling lazy.
Their staying power is pretty amazing though if your lips are prepped well! I've found they stay on with minimal wear (which usually occurs in the centre of the bottom lip if at all) even after eating and drinking.
Overall I love Velourlips so I just deal with the fussy application :)
Tips: Use waterproof eye makeup remover on a cotton pad/wipe to remove the product from your lips quickly and with minimal rubbing :)
