MAC Prep + Prime Skin Review

This was the very first primer I used and while it is expensive it is definitely worth it.

It comes in a black cylindrical container and contains 30mls; one problem with this type of container is you are unable to see how much is left however the pump dispenser allows you to control how much you want out and has the added bonus of being hygienic I typically need between 1-1/2 pumps to do my entire face.

The primer feels rather silky I suppose a bit like silicone. It has a slight shimmer to it which adds a subtle luminescence to the skin without looking like you have rubbed glitter all over your face. It guides/absorbs into my skin well and It makes my make up look fantastic and last all day.

Very lightweight formula which completely evens out skin tone and any redness you may have, all the while adding radiance and a glow to the skin. One of the best primers I have ever used, a really good base to any good lasting makeup look. This is a primer one should always have as a staple go to for a primer, it really does its job of prepping and priming with the added benefit of radiance. Makes ones skin look healthy and bright.

I have pretty regular/dry skin and this primer make my skin so soft and ready for foundation application! Will definitely repurchase.

I've had my tube of Prep and Prime for months and months as I find a small amount goes a long way!

My skin feels gloriously smooth after I apply this, and it does a great job of smoothing over the visible pores on and around my nose ready for a great foundation layer. I usually apply it with my fingers followed by a liquid foundation.

I don't find it does anything about redness though, but I don't need it to as that's why I use the following layers!

The packaging is really great, it's never leaked and no product goes to waste. The actual product is a thick ish fluid, it's white and shimmery but the shimmer doesn't show through into my makeup.

It's lasted a long time so I would buy again!

This is a great face primer, it just does what it is suppose to do! It makes my face feel so smooth after application, and really makes a difference to the finish of my foundation.

It is a white colored primer with a slight amount of shimmer, that doesn't leave any color on the face. It is moisturizing, which I love because I have normal to dry skin and the shimmer adds a very small amount of dewiness to my face. A little bit of this product goes along way, and on most days if I have moisturized I will only need one pump, so a bottle of this will last you a while. I think a good primer is worth the price as it improves the look and lasting power of any foundation.

This was my first ever primer I bought and I haven't found one as good since. I haven't tried another high end primer though as they are just too expensive for me, so have to stick with drugstore now.

I use 1 pump for my entire face. It glides on like a dream, moisturising and smoothing. My skin feels like velvet after application and makes my foundation apply flawlessly.

It helps my foundation last longer which is one of the main reasons I buy a primer (I do not like to powder my face at all).

I only have two complaints. 1. The price. It is sooo expensive I have never bought it again even though I loved it! 2. Although I like the look of the sleek packaging, the bottle is not see through so you cant tell how much you have left.

I have tried a couple of primers, and I have another one on the way to try soon! However the MAC Prep and Prime is definitely my favourite, the slight illumination provided is really handy when you aren't a pro at highlighting.

I often wear the primer with just a light layer of powder foundation over the top when I am in a rush, or not wanting to wear much make up due to either running out of time to put it on or general laziness. It makes the product stay beautifully and is great for evening out skin tone even though it isn't a true 'colour correcting' primer.

It is quite expensive, however 1-1.5 pumps provides ample coverage and if you know you are going to use it regularly then you can pick it up in the occasional sale.

I don't own my own mac prep and prime face but my friend does and every time i get ready with her I feel as if its a a step I can't miss out. I feel as if My foundation just has a more flawless finish and looks a lot better after using this product. Need to get on to buying my own, if anyone knows a cheaper version (dupe) of this please recommend i find that mac products can be overpriced but I guess you have to pay money if you want good products.

when i first put this on my skin my face looked like a disco ball, it was very shimmery and i was scared it would stay like that but no! after putting my foundation and powder on i had a lovely healthy glow to my skin! it feels so hydrating and makes my foundation easy to apply and not patchy. if you have oily skin, only use a wee bit on targeted areas like your cheekbones for a under highlight as it could make your skin look super oily.

When I first bought this product ( early last year and it's still going strong ) I was looking for two things most people look for quality and value. It's a primer so it's better having a product which meets both criterial rather one or the other. Let face it - it plays a big part on the final result.

So it has a beautiful shimmer and light mousey consistency and blends In to your skin leaving a soft surface for you to work on. Lovey smell as well.

For the price and the length of time it has lasted me I was pretty happy. I'm glad I have this product and would be sceptical trying anything else after using this.
