MAC Studio Fix Foundation Fluid SPF 15 Review

Studio fix was my first ever high-end foundation and it was the only brand that I knew at the time that would have a suitable shade for my skin colour. I really liked the formula that this foundation had, as it didn't feel too cakey at all. The coverage was light-medium coverage although it didn't hide everything, I was glad that it was able to bring out a natural look. Although it was great, I found that it brought out the oils in my face which made it shiny throughout the day, which I hated. Also found that it caused flashbacks for me due to its pH. I used it until the bottle was finished because I didn't want to throw my money away just like that.

I really like how this looks on. Its a nice formula, applies nicely and they have a good colour range. But, it makes me break out. I do tend to have sensitive and acne prone skin, so if you don't, you'll probably be fine, but because of this, I won't be using it again.

It is also on the more expensive side, and I find that Revlon Colourstay is a really good (and cheaper!) alternative to this (and Estee Lauder Double Wear).

These are full coverage, matte finish perfection. I bought this and the pump for myself and loved it, easy to match with my shade of skin which changes between nc42-44 depending on seasons. I have since bought 5 more for my makeup kit and it's suitable for all skin types as long as you prime the skin according to the clients skin needs.

Does have a paint smell to it though

I tried this foundation for the first time the other day and had a very bad chemical burn. I have since found out that I am very allergic to Titanium Dioxide. Because this is one of the top ingredients in this foundation ( and all Mac foundations) I will not be using this again.

However in saying that it looked amazing on and it went on easily. It is a shame because I really liked the over all finish and I was able to get a good colour match.

If you have really sensitive skin I would not recommend any Mac foundations.

As someone with super pale skin and a neutral undertone finding foundation for myself is hard work. That and the fact I'm a dance teacher and need something that's going to last all day.

Through trial and error I have found my favorite foundation. WN13 is my shade and the best thing about this foundation is it lasts all day even when I'm sweating.

The only touch up I need to do during the day is powder my nose as it get a little shiny. Otherwise it stays perfect.

This foundation was my first high-end foundation a few years ago. It's a lovely foundation, great coverage that I find to be long lasting, and it has a very matte finish. However one winter my skin went through a period of being very dry, and using this foundation made it worse (dry, flaky, tight) as it's so matte, so I would recommend this foundation more towards people with normal skin, or at least using a very hydrating primer underneath! When I'm not fake tanned I use the shade nc15, which is fair with yellow undertones. I find the match to be pretty spot on, ideally it could be more yellow but I do find my skin to be more yellow toned than the average person so I can look past it. This foundation has a pretty big shade range though which I think is great, especially for darker skinned people as not all brands cater to those skin tones. It blends out great with my sigma F82 brush. Because it is so matte I find it doesn't need to be set with a powder, but if I'm going out and want as much coverage as possible I like to put the studio fix powder over top and they work beautifully together. Overall a great foundation for most skin types!

One of my first mac purchases and I love this although I got the wrong colour first try it goes on smooth and lasts well. Good coverage without being too caked. Teamed with a beauty blender and finished with mac powder it's great! Must try. Though mine didn't have a pump which annoyed me a bit I'll def use again

I asked for the palest shade of any foundation that MAC offers and was given this absolute beaut. The only foundation I have found to be a good colour match. Has better coverage than any concealer I own and looks so nice on the skin!

I love this product. Not only can I have a nice layer for the day that gives my skin a soft, smooth look.... I can come home and build it up for evening wear in next to no time. Nice and easy to apply, and last all day long. No need to powder, unless you want to.
