Mac Studio Fix Foundation Fluid provides matte finish that is a buildable medium coverage. I find this foundation is easy to blend and is long wearing. As I suffer from oily skin, a long wearing foundation that doesn't slide off my face is a must have for me. The only thing that it does have a faint paint smell. It doesn't bother me but some people might not like it. I have repurchased this product time and time again. It also has a SPF 15 protection which is great all year around. I would recommend the purchase of this product as it is a holy grail product of mine. The $60 investment is truly worthwhile.

Tips: I would recommend using a buffing brush for a flawless application,
I really like this product, I was unfortunately matched incorrectly so the shade I was given is too orange for my skin tone but I still wear it when going to town/nights out. It's perfect for long wear and I find it lasts all night with minimal touch ups and sometimes no touch ups are required. I think if you have a really good foundation brush it goes on so smoothly and evenly and is an over all nice product to use.
Tips: I pair this with the napoleon auto pilot underneath with the Rimmel Stay matte powder on top for a flawless long lasting finish every time!! There is an Orange real techniques brush I use to apply this foundation and its amazing, but I cant remember what name it says on the brush, might be a powder brush but it applies this foundation so well!!
I love, love, love this foundation. I have an oily complexion so I'm apprehensive when it comes to wearing liquid foundation. This foundation so far has been the only one that does not make my skin more oily and lasts long. Coverage is great!
Tips: You don't have to use a lot to cover your face. Use the moisture finishing spray to help it to last longer.
I got matched by the staff to the wrong shade in this foundation (so annoying!) but never the less, this foundation is great! It's a thick consistency and has a good full coverage but it doesn't look cakey! It looks quite natural for a full coverage foundation and settles into the skin well, it is a matte finish which is very drying as soon as I apply it to my skin so moisturise a lot if you're like me! But I can tell it would be great for oily skin. There's a great amount in the bottle, and you don't use much. There is a great colour selection, even a colour for someone as pale as me! I found this went on well with a angled top brush, flat top brush and a beauty blender! It won't irritate sensitive skin but let the skin breathe well. Annoying that there is no pump, I suggest buying one as you can use it on other products once one runs out! It blends out well and lasts such a good amount of time without budge or transferring, great in the camera and won't give off any shiny patches :)
Tips: If you have very pale skin I suggest getting NC 15 (yellow under tones) rather than NW 15 (pink undertones) which will make your skin look very orangey pink Moisturise lots before putting this on if you have dry skin
One of my favourite foundations, looks natural but covers imperfections up really well! Spreads and blends super easy. This foundation was one of my first foundations, I didn't really know much about using foundation but I found it so easy to use. It is very similar to revlons 24 hour colour stay foundation, so that would be a good dupe if you were wanting something a little bit cheaper.
Tips: I use this with a stippling brush, I find it has the most flawless finish that way :)
I was given some samples of this from a friend. I've never used a MAC foundation before. Or high end foundation actually.
I loved it so much I brought it right away! The bottle is heavy. It feels solid and not cheap. It isn't decorated all fancy or anything, just nice and simple. The lid twists off with the help of a kind of rubbery feel on it. Means it doesn't slip when you have moisturizers on your hand.
The hole into the product is a good size for the liquid to come out easy enough. I would tap it on the back of my hand and use a beauty blender to apply onto my face.
It goes on so easily! It's so creamy. So smooth. So lovely! My skin tends to be sensitive and I never reacted to this. The formula of it makes it good for applying with blender or brush. Its great to cover all uneven colours on my face. I could even use a flat head brush to polish it into my skin. My skin looks flawless using this foundation.
The foundation lasts all day even in heat. It doesn't dry out my skin and keeps it looking nice and dewy.
It's easy enough to remove at the end of the day. I use the MAC oil off makeup remover.
I just love it!
Tips: If you know your colour you can order online to save some money
When I went into Mac to buy a foundation, I wasn't expecting Studio Fix to have the amount of coverage that it does. I find this foundation slightly too heavy to wear on a day to day basis and I do have to really buff it out to make it all blend in. However, I love this foundation for nights out and occasions where I want my skin to look flawless and well covered.
I like this product but not enough to quickly recommend it to girls in the chocolate club. I'm in the shade NC42-NC44 and unfortunately MAC doesn't make this product in NC43 so I have to put in extra effort to cover my neck and décolletage so I look somewhat normal.
It comes in a small glass bottle and you have to pay extra for the pump (buy it!) - it's a tad annoying because the foundation is already $60 but a pump will help you control how much you dispense. It has a thick consistency which blends out nicely to give medium coverage however I find that it dries quickly so I tend to work a little faster compared to other foundations. It pays to build up the coverage so there's no risk of "cake face"- but whatever floats your boat lovelies.
My major issue with this product is that it oxidizes on me. When I first apply it, it almost looks natural (even if slightly lighter or darker) however half an hour to an hour later I find that it's a bit too coppery or "orange". It looks horrid as if I didn't bother to get colour matched and believe me I was naughty and got 4 different MAC MUAs to colour match me and they all came up with the same; with 2 of them saying NC43 (the one that doesn't exist) would be perfect. Yes. Great.
My other issue - even though you'll have it with any other foundation with SPF - is this foundation leaves you with the dreaded white cast when taking pictures particularly at night. I have the pictures as a constant reminder that ashy is NEVER in - ever.
The main reason why I continued to buy this product is because I love how it sits on my skin, it doesn't feel like I have foundation on. The finish is semi-matte but because I have oily skin it tends to look dewy which I like but then after 6 hours it's leaning more towards shine station.
I highly encourage EVERYONE to always get a sample (MAC or any other brand if possible) to test over a few days before committing to buying it. I don't regret my purchase (cough repurchases) but it's safe to say that I'm moving on.
Tips: I conceal what needs to be concealed. Then I dispense one pump onto a clean piece of plastic (it will dry quickly on your hand) and use a foundation brush with quick sweeping motions to distribute the product.
Ive really enjoyed the quality of Mac foundation, the only thing that annoyed me was the need to set it with a powder but I guess 99% of the time that is normal :)
This was the first high-end foundation I ever bought (the start of an expensive addiction) and even today it still remains one of my favourites. I love the coverage level, it's medium-to-full but is sooo easy to build. I was quite a beginner when I first used this, but I found it easy to build and blend.
A little seems to go a long way for me, and it has pretty great staying power - without making your face look too matte or flat - which some long-wearing foundations can do.
My only wish was that MAC didn't charge extra for a pump! Would have loved one with this but I don't want to fork out an extra $10-15.
Tips: Applies amazingly with a flat-top foundation brush! I dab a bit onto a flat plastic surface (e.g. a compact lid) and work with my brush from that. I stipple it on then use circular motions to buff it out when my face is all covered.
