This was the first MAC product I have tried but unfortunately it didn't work for my skin. I have oily skin, enlarged pores and fine lines, all of which were heightened by this foundation. It did noting to hide my pores, sunk in to my fine lines making them appear larger and my skin was looking shiny within 30 minutes. I also found it very hard to blend and tried with various tools but was always left looking rather orange. I think this product would work well for younger skin tones but wasn't for me. The Studio Fix powder foundation however is great!

I used this for a couple of years. When I was younger I really liked a full coverage near matte look.. This Is a fantastic product if you like a very heavy coverage, but I feel like the colours just don't match for every skin type which was disappointing when you spend so much on one bottle. Im quite fair but definitely not the lightest shade and this was always very orange on my skin. I found this very drying on my skin, MAC products tend to upset my sensitive skin, make my eyes water and give me drying around the nose/soreness. I have since moved onto other products as although I do still very much like nice coverage to cover general imperfections this is just WAY too heavy and cakey. I have switched to Revlon photo ready in nude 200 and Max Factor CC cream in the lightest shade, I tend to mix them both together for the perfect colour for my skin. This MAC foundation would probably be a bit easier to wear with a few drops of Estee Lauder illuminating serum!
Tips: Use a primer.. Apply with foundation brush, and smooth out lines with hands. You will need to apply an additional powder over the top of this to set it but try avoid a matte powder as it will age your skin/look very OTT.
A really great full coverage foundation, especially for night time. I have quite oily skin and it stays on perfectly. Only reason I would not recommend for a day time foundation is because I found using it that often that it would react with my skin, I do have quite sensitive skin however. I also prefer lighter coverage for day time. But definately better than other liquid foundations at reducing oil and maintaining coverage throughout the night
Tips: As always with mac foundations patch test before wearing, sensitive skins can often find issues with wearing mac foundations
I've been really keen to try Studio Fix but hate the strong paint(?) smell... I really don't like a lot of fragrance or scent to my foundations. I felt like the colour was very orange too, but maybe I was matched wrong. My skin did get quite oily with this and it wasn't as long lasting as I wanted.
This is a great foundation when its applied right. I found it to work best with a foundation brush, a tonne of buffing and a bit of patience. It makes my skin look so smooth and flawless and I really like the matte finish. It can look a bit cakey if youre not careful but once youve got the hang of it its fine.
I was matched in store to nw22 and since my bf bought one back for me from america it seems too orange so i dont know if it oxidises on me or what. The smell kinda puts me off too. The coverage is full and does leave a flawless finish. Maybe if i got a lighter shade I'd be happier about this product
This foundation is perfect for covering skin imperfections - while using it I didn't need to use concealer as it was such full coverage. It can feel quite thick and cakey at times, or this could be because I have such oily skin! Great and simple for undereye darkness and blemishes, though I wouldn't recommend for a lightweight, everyday foundation.
Tips: Apply thinly with either a Beauty Blender or a stippling brush.
This used to be my go to foundation, I'm not really sure what happened but it just doesn't do what it used to. I find it oxidises really easily and wear off unevenly even with primer and powder as a base. A bit disappointed really considering the price. My third and final bottle I'll be buying.
I found that Mac Studio Fix Fluid Foundation had a very intense smell and I find it is too cakey and unnatural looking for a day time foundation. Its a very good night time foundation as it does provide a full coverage that does stay on really well.
Tips: I found applying with a sponge much easier and gave a more even finish than a brush, the formula was too thick to blend with a brush.
Colour match is good however left my skin too oily after a few hours even with primer and powder to set. I use the Mac waterweight foundation and its perfect. Leaves my skin looking fresh and flawless and would give that one a 5/5 easily.
