I have been using MAC make-up for years, since I was a teen in fact. I have felt a sense of loyalty to them, I guess because I have been using them for so many years and some of there products are all time favorites of mine. I have used Studio Fix Foundation for the last couple of years and like the look the product provides. It gives the skin a dewy look and it's long lasting, which is always a major plus. A rather significant downside for me is that it caused me to have frequent breakouts. I have combination skin, that can be more problematic due to hormonal changes and is pretty sensitive, thus i try not to wear make-up everyday but when I did apply the foundation, I got more breakouts. I assumed that this would be the case for most foundations but after feeling fed up, I tried a a new product from a different brand and have subsequently found out that my new foundation does not cause breakouts. Sadly, I wont use this product again but would possibly recommend it to friends that do not have breakout problems.

Tips: Apply the foundation with a brush or with your fingers for a more even coverage. Don't use a sponge or pad as it tends to waste a lot of the product
I didn't find that this product was for me. I didn't like the coverage it gave me, it wasn't as natural as I expected. I would use this for a ball or if I was going out. I used it with a stippling brush, I will try with a beauty blender to see if I have a different result. I found I quite costly so I was expecting it to be flawless
My skin type is combination and this just doesn't work for me. The colour is nice and coverage is full however I find it cakey on my nose and goes oily on my forehead. For what you pay for it I expected much better. I prefer face and body even though the coverage is sheer as its buildable without being at all cakey looking. The only pro to this foundation is you don't need concealer.
I tried this foundation and really wanted to love it, but felt underwhelmed (especially for the price). It oxidised on my skin quite a bit and made my complexion look really dirty. Also pretty hard to blend, and started looking patchy after a few hours.
Tips: Blend quickly, you might also have to touch up during the day so carry it with you.
This was more heavy coverage in my view. I don't like a lot of foundation but I found this to be more mask like and best suited to a night out or for those needing heaps of coverage. I would recommend it to those who wear a full face of make up.
Tips: Definitely start with a little bit and build from there.
The coverage of this foundation is good, but its smells like chemicals and its very cakey, if you don't mind heavy feeling foundations then this shouldn't be too bad but I didn't like it and it look orangey in patches also
POSITIVES: it is medium to full coverage, makes your face look smooth, has a huge range of shades making it easier for you colour match
NEGATIVES: oxidises within a few hours, made my skin break out really badly, even with primer and powder it starts to slide off within 4-5 hours, has a really strong smell to it.
I've used the foundation with numerous primers, moisturisers. i was told it was good for oily skin but i dont find that it is.
I really like how this looks on. Its a nice formula, applies nicely and they have a good colour range. But, it makes me break out. I do tend to have sensitive and acne prone skin, so if you don't, you'll probably be fine, but because of this, I won't be using it again.
It is also on the more expensive side, and I find that Revlon Colourstay is a really good (and cheaper!) alternative to this (and Estee Lauder Double Wear).
Tips: Don't use this around your eyes, it settles into your fine lines really badly! Use a concealer instead.
I heard great things about this product and along with hearing that Mac cosmetics has a great range of quality products and decided I would try something new and purchase this product. The makeup artist put the foundation on my face, I wasn't 100% happy with it, it did look cakey on me but not full coverage. I purchased it anyway thinking it will grow on me and i'll find different ways to make it work. But nothing worked, this MAC Studio Fix foundation made me look cakey, didn't cover any of my blemishes. My skin didn't look smooth, it brought out my imperfections even more. I feel that this product is amazing on some people and makes their skin look flawless but with mine it didn't do anything but make it look worse.
Tips: If you have dry skin in some areas and also oily skin I recommend using a bb cream underneath or a primer (primers didn't work for me but for others it has). This foundation tends to cling to imperfections otherwise I think it would be a great foundation.
This foundation is quite thick and heavy feeling on the face and the shades are just annoying! I feel NW shades are to pinky and NC shades are to yellow, so I would have to mix to get a tone right for me. It needed to be worn as a full coverage and with a primer applied otherwise it would go patchy! I also found it also broke me out….BIG negative.
The positives are that it can be built up to be a very full coverage, and there are many shades.
