MAC Studio Fix Foundation Fluid SPF 15 Review

I’m a fan of MAC products and having a shop very close to me is handy! MAC and Estée Lauder are two of my favourite foundations.

This foundation is packaged in the iconic glass packing, simple with a black lid. Classy and elegant.

The formula is lovely. I like a good coverage for my foundation and this delivers. There’s a good range of colours so you can get a perfect match. It definitely ticks a lot of boxes for me.

I have slightly dry skin that can be sensitive. I’ve had no issues with MAC products. I ensure I moisturize well before I apply this product.

The foundation gives a matte finish that stays on well during the day. It gives coverage that is medium to full. The finish is great and I just keep on going back to this foundation.

I love Studio Fix Foundation! For me it goes on nicely, has a light to medium coverage but is definitely buildable and depending on the heat of the day, I can either set it or not with a powder!

I have combination oily skin and I find that this works wonders for me, however, there is a powerful chemical smell (same with the concealer) but I can deal with that. I like the formulation of the foundation where I can have it more medium coverage for a day look but then if Im going for full glam, I can build it up.

The price point is the only thing that makes me hesitant as $60 for 30mls is a lot when there are some amazing drugstore foundations that are half the price.

This foundation I found for myself was matte. It’s lasted really well. I would not recommend for people who have dry patches as it shows this. Out of all the MAC foundation this is most likely a medium to full coverage foundation which I like as it helps hide most imperfections. If you use this foundation I like to use a beauty blender or flat top kabuki brush. I love how Mac has a large range of different skin colours.

This foundation is the ultimate, it’s so easy to blend and stays on all day, they have a really good shade range and I like that it has SPF too. So when wearing everyday you get constant sun protection.

This foundation used to be my holy grail! In the beginning it worked what I thought was wonders and it colour matched my skin amazingly! However after trying out a few other foundations I came to realise that it did unfortunately come up slightly patchy if you didn’t use a fair amount on your beauty blender/brush. However this could quite easily be just because if my skin type and how the foundation took to it! After using a bit more and making it matte by applying a powder it worked quite well :) It is however quite hard to access, where I’m from we only have 1 Mac counter in a makeup store so when they don’t have things it’s incredibly hard to purchase as America doesn’t ship to NZ directly. This does make some things difficult.

I have tried so many different foundations and Studio Fix is still my favourite. It doesn't look cakey or patchy for my combo skin, although the T zone can get shiny after a few hours. I like using this with the Mac Mineralized Timecheck Lotion as it really gives me a flawless effect. I just wish it didn't have any SPF so I could wear it on a night out. It does seem to give flash back in flash photography due to the titanium oxide from the SPF.

Colour match is good however left my skin too oily after a few hours even with primer and powder to set. I use the Mac waterweight foundation and its perfect. Leaves my skin looking fresh and flawless and would give that one a 5/5 easily.
