MAC studio fix is a medium coverage build able foundation - this means it can be used to create more of a full coverage as well. It is very long lasting - especially with powder to set - and seemed to even be good out in the elements and even seemed to be water resistant in my experience. The product is liquid but once applied has quite a matte finish. At $60 RRP the price is higher than some, but the pay off is in the quality of the product. The bottle is glass so not ideal to keep in a handbag and the screw on lid makes applying a little difficult but you can purchase a pump from MAC which you can screw on. I have sensitive skin and it was fine for me. I would recommend MAC studio fix to anyone who likes the option of a bit more coverage.

Tips: Set with powder to reduce shine and keep it in place for the day. Purchase the pump for easy application!
Found this product too heavy and cakey looking for everyday wear or even ever. Went in to Mac and they applied will not be using this product just feels yuck and heavy on my skin also
I went into a MAC store and got a small sample of this foundation and i just had to buy the whole bottle because I instantly fell in love!
Firstly the number one concern for me iwith foundation is color matching. I absolutely cannot stand having an off foundation tone. I have very yellow undertones and find it quiet hard to find anything yellow enough for me. In winter I was matched to nc30 which is gorgeous and a perfect match and in summer i go up to nc40. I love MAC's color system it makes it so much easier to match yourself accurately.
This foundation has a matte finish which is generally what i prefer as i have oily skin. Although it is very matte its still easy to create a more dewy look with this simply by using a illuminating primer/moisturizer underneath. The formula is a liquid which i like and its not too watery or too thick. Its very easy to apply and achieve a flawless finish with this product.
The foundation is in classic MAC packaging with a glass bottle and plain black lid. Its very sleek and simple which i really like. One downside is that it doesn't come with a pump. It makes it alot harder to get the product out and you can end up wasting a lot of it. Of course you can buy the pump from MAC which costs $14 i believe. I think its quiet cheeky and unfair for the company to sell them separately and make all that extra money. You'd expect a product of this quality and price range would come with a pump! But that doesnt deter me at all :)
The coverage is excellent its definitely full in my opinion but you can easily sheer it out to achieve a more natural looking medium coverage if that's what you prefer. I like full coverage for a flawless base and this is perfect for that. Even though this is kind of pricey you dont need much product to cover your whole face so one bottle will last a long time.
This foundation is also very long lasting. With a primer it can easily last a full 8 hour day without touch ups and still look great. Another bonus i like about this is that there is spf 10 in it so you have a small amount of sun protection.
This is a fabulous product that works perfectly for me Its long lasting, full coverage and great for oily skin. I would highly recommend to anyone with oily skin as it may be too drying for other skin types. For me its one of my all time fave foundations and totally worth the money!
Don't think it was the right foundation for me. Definitely feels too thick and heavy. It doesn't really blend well compared to other liquid foundation I've used before. Also its heaviness makes it really obvious that you have makeup on, whereas I prefer a more natural look. Also my skin can be slightly dry or slightly oily depending on the season. When my skin is dry, the foundation made it look even more dry!! And when my skin is slightly oily, putting on the foundation makes me more prone to a breakout. I find it really difficult to get the product out of the bottle. I either end up with not enough or far too much. Also don't really like the smell either.
I've tried a lot of foundations in my time (not that old but hey I've tried enough to say that?) and honestly, I did not find this foundation to be some god sent... I found that it did not blend in like other foundations I've used, but I can't say it was totally bad. I do use it from time to time, but it just doesn't work for me. it might just be me, but it felt too oily at times, and the colour did not easily match mine, I wouldn't buy it again, but at the price I bought it for, I wouldn't throw it away either.
Just saying, there is definitely better!
I use this for my going out foundation/special event. Its very full coverage and thick! It leaves an amazing flawless finish and works well with the mac mineralize powder!
It can look very cakey if you put to many layers on.. and the smell of it is quite strong.
It has a fantastic colour range, I am fair and its hard to find a foundation that actually fits my skin tone without leaving a foundation line! I use nw15. I always get compliments on my skin when I'm wearing this.
I wouldn't wear it on an everyday basis as its more on the expensive side and very very full coverage.
Tips: Works well with a beauty blender!
im normally a fan of MAC products (not so much the price of them!) except their foundations, this one especially, I find them very thick and heavy on my face and it looks very caked on, not to mention it blocks my pores and leaves my skin feeling terrible the next day, and the price of it is definitely not worth it. Overall not impressed with this at all.
I used this studio fox foundation for a year. I found it gave me great coverage but it would easily "sweat" off my skin. My skin would also become a bit oily. I did love the colour I had as it really brightened up my skin. However I moved onto a different MAC foundation that lasts a bit longer and sticks to my face. I'm not sure if this was a "skin type" issue or a makeup issue but this is my review of the product.
Tips: Apply with a Fluffy brush so that it gets applied thinly and blends.
I absolutely love Mac makeup the foundation if applied with a good brush gives a flawless look. I first tried Mac in the states and when returning home I had to order this from a store in Auckland and have it posted to me. Not the cheapest foundation but well worth the cost for a great foundation.
I didn't find that this product was for me. I didn't like the coverage it gave me, it wasn't as natural as I expected. I would use this for a ball or if I was going out. I used it with a stippling brush, I will try with a beauty blender to see if I have a different result. I found I quite costly so I was expecting it to be flawless
