MAC Studio Fix Foundation Fluid SPF 15 Review

I havent used this product for a while, but only due to money limitations. I strive for a perfectly floorless look and this is the only foundation that has ever given me the exact coverage that I want. You can apply layers easily for extra coverage. For me though, I found the foundation seemed to bring out the oil in my skin, which meant i needed to use powder to lock/soak up the oil.

This foundation is quite pricey and there are plenty of alternative cheaper foundations to this product. However with that being said I was determined to make this work for me. After try it for a week I discover every time I used a dirty brush the foundation would dry up and separate on my face. Once I started to clean my brush before every application it was working but still wasn't as perfect as I wanted. Then I discovered shiseido Ulitmune (a kind of serum) and used it in my everyday skin care routeing. The foundation started to sit perfectly and last all day. It is possible to make it work ! Now Studio fix Fluid would be in my top fie foundations.

I use this for my going out foundation/special event. Its very full coverage and thick! It leaves an amazing flawless finish and works well with the mac mineralize powder!

It can look very cakey if you put to many layers on.. and the smell of it is quite strong.

It has a fantastic colour range, I am fair and its hard to find a foundation that actually fits my skin tone without leaving a foundation line! I use nw15. I always get compliments on my skin when I'm wearing this.

I wouldn't wear it on an everyday basis as its more on the expensive side and very very full coverage.

Tried out a sample of this to make sure I didn't waste my money on: a) wrong colour or b) wrong texture. I have to say I absolutely loved this anditreally blended well and gaveme a flawless beautiful glow to my skin. I have oily skin so usually half through the day I end up quite shiny. This did give a bit if shine in my t zone but nothing a little of powder wouldn't fix. I love the coverage and the way it sat on my skin, I used c4.5 which was good as it was yellow or pink based. This is one product I will continue to use and repurchase.

I was on the hunt for a new foundation. Decided on this one and felt great about it. I love the coverege. I think it could blend a little nicer as i don't feel it spreads over my face very far etc. I do have to bronze a little more using it as I think I could be one shade lighter to what I got matched to but over all I love the staying power and and look of how my skin looks with this :)

Ahhhh so this was my first MAC purchase and OMG I love it. felt so smooth on my skin. the colour was a perfect match. felt so light and that's a bonus cause I hate make up that feels super heavy and cakey on the skin. will deffo be buying more of this. and not to mention I brought it on the us mac website so was super cheap for only $27 US dollars!! what a steal. Cant wait to buy more mac products

I do really like this foundation it has really good coverage and very buildable. I do find it does feel abit heavy but even using a small amount I found does go along way. It does dry quick but for my skin I don't have to apply it too fast I just buff it out really good and it blends in really well. The smell of this foundation I found isn't very nice at all for a high end foundation. When I apply this foundation I apply a thin layer then reapply to areas that I have a lot of acne scarring. This foundation lasts me all day when applied a pressed powder over the top. Would like to buy again for sure.

Ive really enjoyed the quality of Mac foundation, the only thing that annoyed me was the need to set it with a powder but I guess 99% of the time that is normal :)

I am a huge MAC fan and used Studio Fix for years.

The packaging is simple and classic as most MAC products are. To get to the product you have to unscrew the lid and get your brush in there. It can be quite hard to get the last bit out of the bottom when there isn't much left.

This product applies well, a little seems to go a long way and you can easily build up. It provides a really good medium level coverage and leaves your skin looking velvety and matte. It lasts well - basically the whole day for me.

I find this foundation to be a bit drying, so would be hesitant to use this in winter when my skin is crazy dry.

This foundation was my first high-end foundation a few years ago. It's a lovely foundation, great coverage that I find to be long lasting, and it has a very matte finish. However one winter my skin went through a period of being very dry, and using this foundation made it worse (dry, flaky, tight) as it's so matte, so I would recommend this foundation more towards people with normal skin, or at least using a very hydrating primer underneath! When I'm not fake tanned I use the shade nc15, which is fair with yellow undertones. I find the match to be pretty spot on, ideally it could be more yellow but I do find my skin to be more yellow toned than the average person so I can look past it. This foundation has a pretty big shade range though which I think is great, especially for darker skinned people as not all brands cater to those skin tones. It blends out great with my sigma F82 brush. Because it is so matte I find it doesn't need to be set with a powder, but if I'm going out and want as much coverage as possible I like to put the studio fix powder over top and they work beautifully together. Overall a great foundation for most skin types!
