i have mixed opininions about this product as well as the mac lipstick. i find at times this founndation can leave your skin looking oily! The thing i like about mac foundation is that it covers up my different skin tone well and also isnt too thick to apply onto your face but it still lets it breathe.

Tips: Applying a pressed powder after the foundation stops the shinnyness and leaves it looking nice!
I've tried a few MAC foundations and thought I should give the one every second person seems to have a whirl. Unfortunately this is not quite the one for me. It goes on smooth and the finish is nice and dewy but I find the colour (I'm NC42 for reference) to be a touch too yellow which can make it look like I've painted my face (in a less than flattering way). I also find it you're not careful the coverage can appear a bit too heavy so you definitely need a lighter hand to apply this one. Will be sticking to my MAC studio sculpt in future.
Tips: Can be difficult to get out of the bottle - I like to cover the opening with my finger and tip the whole thing upside down so I only get a controlled amount out at a time.
Don't think it was the right foundation for me. Definitely feels too thick and heavy. It doesn't really blend well compared to other liquid foundation I've used before. Also its heaviness makes it really obvious that you have makeup on, whereas I prefer a more natural look. Also my skin can be slightly dry or slightly oily depending on the season. When my skin is dry, the foundation made it look even more dry!! And when my skin is slightly oily, putting on the foundation makes me more prone to a breakout. I find it really difficult to get the product out of the bottle. I either end up with not enough or far too much. Also don't really like the smell either.
I used this studio fox foundation for a year. I found it gave me great coverage but it would easily "sweat" off my skin. My skin would also become a bit oily. I did love the colour I had as it really brightened up my skin. However I moved onto a different MAC foundation that lasts a bit longer and sticks to my face. I'm not sure if this was a "skin type" issue or a makeup issue but this is my review of the product.
Tips: Apply with a Fluffy brush so that it gets applied thinly and blends.
I've used this product on numerous occasions and I can say that it gives great coverage and is long lasting. I was also surprised that the makeup didn't oxidise on my face, and remained the same colour throughout the day. It's quite hard to find foundation which suits my medium brown skin tone, but with this product I had the perfect colour!!. But, I suffer from breakouts and this foundation agitated my skin. On the occasions I used it I happened to breakout quite badly the day after. The formula clogged my pores and ruined my skin. This is very disappointing considering the great coverage it gives. However I won't be reaching for it anytime soon because I don't want to go through another mass breakout.
Tips: First test it on your skin for a whole day before commuting to buy it. Or else you may regret your decision especially if you suffer from breakouts!
This was the first big girl foundation I bought, as I thought why not buy the 'best'. There are an amazing amount of shades so there's bound to be one to match every skin tone. I don't really like the packaging because of the matte lid (which gets covered in foundation every time I touch it) and the fact that you have to purchase a pump for an additional ?$14?. I can't believe I'm saying this, but the coverage is not that great, i'd say medium and not very build-able without looking cake faced. It also fades during the day no matter what primer I use and to be honest, I just don't think it delivers for the price.
This foundation looks great when first applied (despite acne scars and discolouration showing through), but I have oily skin and after a few hours it starts to slide off, transfer, and my pores and fine lines are very visible (I am only 19!). It also rubbed off on textured areas, making me have lots of little bare dots on the face. This is also with blotting and reapplying powder. I recommend it for a few hours wear but any longer and you'll be a mess :-s
Tips: Do not wear all day if you have oily skin, and make sure to powder! Also if you have discolouration/acne scars you will need to be generous with concealer.
I use MAC foundations for special occasions, mainly because they are such high quality and really are worth the money. The Studio Fix Foundation is a thick consistency and has excellent coverage, I used this foundation a lot in my 20s when I had an oily t-zone and it was great! However now I am in my mid 30s I find this foundation too thick and coverage too heavy even if I apply it thinly. I prefer the mineralise skinfinish foundation but I still recommend this foundation for the girls out there that like a full coverage foundation and don't have too many wrinkles! :)
I love this foundation and got extremely excited when they released some new lighter colours in NW10 + NW13 but I find that whenever I use it, i start breaking out in pimples which sucks because it really is a beautiful creamy foundation that can last all day. Perfect for work! I still recommend the foundation, maybe try and get a sample first or et them to test it on your skin.
Tips: Using a primer underneath keeps the foundation fresh and helps it to last all day, especially if you are lazy like me and don't do touch ups!!
When I first started to buy MAC products, this was one of the first recommended to me to buy. I have mixed feelings on this foundation. Given I have normal to oily and sometimes normal to dry skin I'm not sure this was the best match for my skin type. The coverage I find to be medium to build-able which is what I look for in foundation, I did find however it wore off quite a bit throughout my t-zone during the day which is my oiliest area. I also found sometimes my skin going dry in my t-zone area from this foundation which I found difficult to understand. For me and my skin type it is okay but It was a holy grail foundation for me
Tips: Check with a MAC counter about your skin type and which foundation would best suit your skin type. Also if you are getting colour matched at MAC, ask to step into normal lighting to see if the colour is right, as I walked out buying a foundation 2 shades too dark which didn't seem that way under artificial lighting!
