This is my usual go-to foundation, and to be honest, I'm a big fan of MAC products as they are generally long lasting, have good coverage and are kind to my skin. I find the Studio Fix really easy to blend (with my brush) and it sets with powder for a long lasting base. I like that you can really build coverage to go from day to night, and I find that I can blend with my BB cream in the day to get a medium coverage to really maximise the longevity of my foundation (as it is quite pricey in NZ). This is one of the only foundations that doesn't make me break out, which is always a huge bonus. It's not cakey and has a smooth texture, it glides on the skin and quickly sets from dewey to a matt finish, which is further set with the application of powder. One thing I don't like is that it doesn't have a pump - I did have a bottle of this that did, but it seems they aren't making them anymore? I also feel like my colour may have slightly changed (new formula perhaps?) and I'm not liking it as much - it's now a foundation I feel is a bit more suited to my skin in summer versus winter, so I'll need to go and find a more suitable tone for the cooler months. All in all though, if you're looking for a long-wearing foundation with buildable coverage, this is it!

Tips: MAX Studio Fix comes in a range of shades, and it's likely necessary to get a different one for Summer and Winter if you're anything like me and have fair skin that does tan.
I used to use this all the time. However I found I was very thick and would start to wear off throughout the day. I would use it again but only if prolongwear didn't exist
After watching a number of video reviews about Mac cosmetics I decided to try some out for myself. I was wanting a foundation that would make my skin look flawless and had staying power.
After getting a colour match I purchased the studio fix fluid foundation in NW20. While in the shop this foundation looked great. After a hour I noticed that It started to change colour, and in fact the foundation was oxidising on my skin. This turned me from looking like I had flawless photo ready skin to a scary looking orange clown. After getting some advice some the girls working at the Mac counter they gave me a primer to try. From the point on I have been in love with this foundation! The staying power is fantastic!
Tips: Use a primer, it stops the dreaded Oompa Loompa face appearing!
I I really do love this foundation. I have used several in the past, but keep coming back to this one. I really like the texture and the coverage that it gives. I apply with a flat top brush, and make sure I buff it in. I usually use it when I need to wear my make up all day, or on a night out, as its full coverage, and I don't like that everyday. I always use a little bit of setting powder over the top.
Tips: Use thin layers to build up coverage. Either a foundation, then a buffing brush, or just a flat top brush to apply.
Always take a sample before you buy, so you can take home and apply yourself and make sure you like the colour.
After over 10 years using a cake foundation, I was a bit daunted at the prospect of using a liquid foundation. Once I got the basics right though, I was away.
MAC Studio Fix was sold to me on the basis of being the best foundation on the market for my oily T-zone 'situation'. I've found that it hasn't helped with my oil problem (it hasn't changed), but it does stay a lot better than anything else I've tried through the day, so it gets my seal approval on that basis.
Tips: When using a liquid foundation, I recommend using a brush to ensure even coverage. Just make sure you wash your brush (using your normal face cleanser) regularly.
I adore this foundation. Ive been using it for months now. It is medium - full coverage but you can share it down or build it up in areas you need it
MAC is the best foundation, with the SPF 15 its all you need to keep your skin safe from the sun whilst giving you a full coverage. Well worth the price!
Tips: Use a fine tip brush to apply, ensures an all over coverage
Mac always has great products and this one is one is great! Gives full coverage that lasts, defiantly my favourite and worth the money. Don't buy cheap because it most always is crappy.
Tips: Don't use to much and apply evenly or you will look caked on
I have been wearing this foundation for a few months now. I found it gave very good coverage and it was easy to apply, whether I used my fingers or a foundation brush. I do feel like it is slightly too heavy to use as an everyday foundation going into summer, but I still use it going out at night time and it is great.
Tips: Using a brush to apply this foundation is best and don't use too much - it goes a long way and you don't need as much as you think!
One night, after finding out that I was going to graduate, I was kicking around Riccarton Mall, wondering, How am I going to treat myself for this huge achievement. Again. Because I'll use any excuse multiple times.
I ended up at MAC, wanting some of that mysterious Rose pigment that money just can't buy, and decided when I couldn't get that, I'd get a new foundation. After a discussion with the wonderful store manager, she put me onto studio fix and then colour matched me there and then.
Applied with a beauty blender, the finish is medium, and flawless and stays that way all work day. I do find it a little on the drying side but with oily skin, that sometimes isn't a bad thing. The first few times, it broke me out, but now I don't have any problems!
Tips: Use a beauty blender and get the pump! Its way easier to get the product out of the bottle :) A few extra dollars for a little bit less mess.
