I have these in 3 shades - cocoa bear; a deep red toned brown matte, gorgeous in the crease and on the lower lash line. Awesome pigmentation and easy to blend. Chickadee; a warm yellow orange matte, one of my favourites for blending/transition shade in the crease. It's so buttery and nicely pigmented. Peach Smoothie; A light peachy cream matte, my least favourite of the three. It's powdery and doesn't give off the greatest amount of pigmentation. For less than $10 NZD a pan these are a complete steal - they're cruelty free with some shades being vegan, they are high quality and there's a great range of shades available. There are a few more shades I want to pick up (mainly Shimma Shimma and Cupcake) but these won't be a "collect them all" type product for me as I much prefer Coastal Scents Hot Pots as they're cheaper and the quality is the same if not better on some shades. These are definitely a bargain for those trying to dupe MAC eyeshadows though as Marlena created these with MAC in mind and wanting to create a more affordable option.

Makeup Geek Eyeshadow Pans Review
Makeup Geek Eyeshadow Pans Review
Named after the velvety, warm skin of a peach, and the soft subtle sands on a beach, this addition to our collection is sure to be one you will love. This soft, delicate, matte peach color is perfect for summer. Use alone for a soft wash of color that is perfect for a day in the sun, or team it up with a dark shade for a dramatic look that is sure to turn heads. It also happens to be a great blending color to soften any harsh lines.

I currently own three of these and have plans to purchase more. There is a huge colour selection available, so I am eyeing up what to get next. So far I have cocoa bear (warm toned brown), cupcake (dusky pink shade) and creme brulee (light warm brown). I think these are very comparable to mac eyeshadows but at a fraction of the price. The shipping to NZ is reasonable too. The shadows themselves are really bendable and pigmented, which in turn makes them easy to use. I can't wait to get more!
I am such a huge MUG fan, first they are super affordable and second the quality is absolutely amazing, so buttery, smooth and non chalky. They wear superbly and are easy to blend. I have so many of these babies it is hard to pick a favourite, but I do really love my cocoa bear which is a warm matte brown tone. shipping from the makeup geek website is really reasonable, and they use pay pal which makes it even easier. I got a 10 pan empty palette to store mine in from ebay for $7.00 so makes building custom palettes really easy. Def recommend checking these out!
I am a massive fan of anything MUG!! They have a huge range of shades and formula's to suit everyone. What I also like about the shades are thier names e.g. Cocoa Bear, Simply Marlena . . . they have meaning/ personal touch and were well thought out. The shadows are so pigmented and super easy to apply and blend out. I was so impressed with these shadows that I ended up selling my naked palettes as I found myself not reaching for them as much as I was for my MUG shadows. I also love how you can purchase the shades in pan form to create your own palette unlike say an urban decay palette were most of the time there is 1 or 2 shades you never reach for in there because a shade just aint your thing and I find that a waste. The price point for these is also very good. Shipping to NZ is reasonable and takes on average 2 weeks. And they have the BEST customer service to date. If you haven't tried these yet you need to!!
I 100% purchased these due to Cat's review on here!! So my addicted can be blamed on someone I guess (yeah like I need to blame anyone)
I purchased 4 of the foiled eye shadows and 3 of the matte eye shadows to fill up the remaining space in my Z-Palette. They turned up pretty darn quickly from the states so the whole purchase to your door was smooth sailing. Packaged in little sleeves of cardboard with their logo and signature black, pink and white design. The little pan of colour pops through the clear view panel so you can see what you have purchased. Once ripped out of its container then solid pan which must be steel or some form of metal as it has that cool touch to it, is rather a generous size in depth and width. Easily attaches itself into the Z-Palette without the need for additional magnets to be attached to the underside which is a bonus so you can still see what the shade is when you lift it out of the palette.
Formula wise, the mattes are solid, pressed colours that have a soft creamy texture to them which means they aren't crumbly and transfer from pan to eyelid by finger or brush without falling off mid transit and making a mess. The foiled are similar to the mattes in texture but slightly more creamy, press to hard and you'll leave an indent in the pan, but not too creamy that they need to be sealed tightly with a lid. The shimmer and glitz powers in the foils are out of this world!
Colours owned (at the moment, I know I will be buying more if not all of the remaining)
Mattes:
Homecoming (light brown with a slight gold hue to it)
Mocha (deep brown)
Hipster (sandy beige with slight shimmer)
Foiled:
Magic Act (my fave!! intense gold)
In the Spotlight (pink to peachy corals)
Showtime (dirty brick red, rusty colour)
These eye shadows are also long living even the foiled shades keep there metallic effect throughout the day, they are blendable, smudgeable but once compacted into an area and settled won't be budged. Simply wash off at the end of the day as you normally would any other eye shadow they come off with a makeup remover wipe super easily. Highly recommended to those who want to create their own palette of colours.
Quality - amazing ! Pigment - amazing ! I have fallen in love with these products ! Everyday I find myself using Crème brulee Cocoa bear and mocha for a nice warm eye look and I will fir sure be adding some of these to my makeup artistry kit !!
Tips: Get a Z palette for them :)
I have been wanting MUG shadows since I first started becoming truly obsessed with makeup. Thanks to Jaclyn Hill and her tutorials, I knew I needed to get my hands on these. You simply cannot go wrong! price wise, they are amazing. Its MAC quality, for drugstore price tag. The pigmentation is out of this world, they are so soft and buttery and blend beautifully. Just truly stunning.
I bought 7 shadows for a wedding I was doing the makeup for. You can only get them from the official MUG website, but that was fine by me. I gave myself plenty of time to allow for shipping (which was also reasonably priced) and when there was a slight hiccup with the delivery, MUG customer service was absolutely fantastic.
I have big plans for future MUG purchases, I cannot get enough of them.
Tips: Follow some of Jaclyn Hills tutorials, you can't go wrong. blend blend blend, these shadows are perfect for it
Ive been looking around for affordable eyeshadow pans to make my own custom pallet. I was tossing up between M.A.C and Makeup Geek and eventually went with Makeup geek as it was a cheaper option.
I found that these shadows are super pigmented and glide on to your lids like butter. There little fall out on most of the shades. I find darker shades have more fall out.
These shadows are great for any mua starting out as they work just as well as M.A.C shadows and some shades do a better job as they blend nicely into each other.
Tips: Buy a Zee pallet as its a great way to store them.
Makeup Geek shadows are really really lovely. The website is easy to navigate and the shadows have very clear swatch photos, including comparisons with other shades in the same family. There's also lots of reviews on Temptalia, so it's easy to get an accurate idea of the true colours of each shade.
The shadows are lovely, soft, non-powdery and blend easily.
Each shadow is about USD6 and shipping for about 15 shadows was USD8. I placed two orders and each one took less than a week to arrive.
Tips: Get a LARGE Z-palette for these, you'll want more than 9 shades!
I splurged on 24 eyeshadow pans from MUG and have not regretted it at all. The quality is phenomenon. They are creamy and apply like a dream. They're long lasting, in the past I've always needed eye primer but with these I've found I can skip the primer and they still last the day. The shimmery shades are so so so pretty. No chunky glitter or fall out all over your cheeks. The shimmer is like a beautiful sheen that makes your lids shine... So hard to explain but I love it! The mattes are nicely pigmented too but I have found a couple to be not as great as the rest but in saying that, they are still good.
I have shades: Shimmers: Ice Queen, Bling, Shimma Shimma, Cinderella, Cosmopolitan, Bleached Blonde, Gold Digger, Taupe Notch, Hipster, Twilight, Homecoming, Burlesque, Appletini, Sensuous, Last Dance.
Mattes: White Lies, Beaches & Cream, Vanilla Bean, Preppy, Latte, Mocha, Wisteria, Unexpected and Corrupt.
My favourites are Bling, great highlighter shade. Latte, Taupe Notch, Homecoming, Cosmopolitan, Vanilla Bean, Burlesque and Corrupt.
I am disappointed in Wisteria, it's a matte purple shade which looks gorgeous in the pan but doesn't really pack the punch I was expecting. I also think the white shades Ice Queen and White Lies could be improved.
These shadows have been compared to MAC and some have been designed to be dupes. The site has swatches of all the shades which is great. I can't say how they compare to MAC as I haven't tried MAC but I must admit I haven't touched my Naked palette since these arrived.
If you would like me to elaborate on any particular shade listed just leave a comment.
Tips: Corrupt is the blackest shadow I've ever seen. It's long lasting too so is great to line your lash line with.
If you don't have a palette to store the shadows in you can turn them around in their packaging they come in for easy access without having them loose (the packet has a round opening in the back that shows the name on the bottom of pan by turning them around the shadow will be accessible without removing from packet) but I highly recommend a palette to keep them safe.
