MUG foiled eyeshadow are unbelievable.
They take eyeshadows to a whole never level. I know that sounds dramatic but it is true. They are such a unique eyeshadow, with a unique formula. These eyeshadows are incredible. Pigmented does not even begin to describe the colour pay off, the vibrancy or the richness these eyeshadows have. They are creamy, buttery and silky smooth. One light swatch gives great coverage, but they can also be packed onto the eyelid for a more intense look.
They are sold separately, for around 10usd each, which I have to admit, is expensive. But I like being able to buy the colours I actually want. Plus, it also means I can build up my palette at my own pace, when I can afford it.
I have it in the following colours
In the Spotlight- This colour is a gorgeous all over lid shade, which is a peachy-pink colour.
Grandstand- A beautiful warm brown, which I would consider the most neutral shade from the foiled collection
Mesmerized- A taupe eyeshadow with a soft hint of purple .
Showtime- A brown mixed with a burgundy hue. Absolutely stunning, and one of my favourites.
Flame Thrower- Technically this colour can be called a copper eyeshadow, but when I look at this I just see a gorgeous flame orange, and this is a eyeshadow that makes a statement.
Houdini- A cool toned emerald hue, with a blue undertone. This is a colour that is a little bit outside of my comfort zone, but it is so unique, I could not resist.
There are a few slight negatives with this product. The first is these eyeshadows are not as long-lasting as the original MUG eyeshadows, but that could be because of my slightly oily lids. Also, blending these eye shadows takes some technique because otherwise the colour just disappears. However, the more I use these eyeshadows, the better I get at making them look good. Practice makes perfect right.
I have been a huge fan of MUG for a longtime now. When they released the foiled shaow range I was super excited to get my hands on a couple to try out. I have the shades "In The Spotlight" & "Houdini". They are absolutely beautiful, the pigmentation is out of this a world. And feel like butter they are so super smooth. I have been using them more during the winter months as my lids are slightly drier and with a eye primer it holds the shadows on the lids but during the hot summer months I tend to have oily lids and these shadows even with a primer just dissappear, not completely but the pigmentation is not as intense as it is when my lids are slightly drier. I did alot of research and many others suggested using something like "Too Face Shadow Glitter Glue". So before NZ next summer I will be getting this primer to try with the foiled shadows. Pros: Affordable Highly, Intensely Pigmented Smooth Easy To Apply Great Colour Range Cons: Not too great on oily lids
Tips: A great eye primer needed.
