These eyeshadows are so pigmented and so affordable. i absolutely love them. However one of mine has shattered slightly, just some of the product has broken out of the pan, but im not too worried as I doubt I will ever go through the whole eyeshadow anyway

I bought Epic (forest green), Center Stage (deep ocean blue) Luna (champagne) and Jester (yellow olive green). They add an amazing pop of colour to any eyeshadow combination. They're an affordable and less messy alternative to loose pigments. They come packaged in cardboard slots so you can easily add them into a customised palette.
The wear of the shadows tends to vary with some lasting slightly longer (Epic and Jester 6 hours) than the others (Luna and Center Stage 4 hours or less). All the shadows except Luna have a smooth consistency and glides easily across the lid. Luna tends to pile up and crumble when I swipe my brush in the pan. Note that this shade is from a makeup palette (MUG x Manny MUA collaboration) so I'm wondering if the formula is different.
My only issue with this product is the inconsistency in the lasting power. I have oily lids so this could contribute to the average wear. Even if I pack on the base in the hope the shadow will adhere to it, it doesn't seem to prolong the wear. They perform below average in hot weather possibly the heat warming the cream component of the shadow and breaking it down more easily. Despite this I would happily repurchase other foiled shadows from MUG because I can still make them work for me - they're easy to use, they have stunning pigmentation and are affordable.
Tips: Add primer to intensify the colour and to prolong the wear - even though it's an intense foil if I add the shadow directly onto my lids it's not as vibrant as the pan and tends to fade faster.
I have been a huge fan of MUG for a longtime now. When they released the foiled shaow range I was super excited to get my hands on a couple to try out. I have the shades "In The Spotlight" & "Houdini". They are absolutely beautiful, the pigmentation is out of this a world. And feel like butter they are so super smooth. I have been using them more during the winter months as my lids are slightly drier and with a eye primer it holds the shadows on the lids but during the hot summer months I tend to have oily lids and these shadows even with a primer just dissappear, not completely but the pigmentation is not as intense as it is when my lids are slightly drier. I did alot of research and many others suggested using something like "Too Face Shadow Glitter Glue". So before NZ next summer I will be getting this primer to try with the foiled shadows. Pros: Affordable Highly, Intensely Pigmented Smooth Easy To Apply Great Colour Range Cons: Not too great on oily lids
Tips: A great eye primer needed.
Hands down, holy grail of super pigmented, super versatile and easy to use single eyeshadows currently on the market, the only downside is you can't just have 1 or 2 you must collect them all!
Design: These cute single pan shadows come packaged for their journey from warehouse to their new home with you in a sleeved cardboard outer with the Makeupgeek logo and colours. The design of the outer packaging is done in a way to be most secure whilst travelling, even though the amount of bubble wrap they also wrap around them when they send is amazing!
Formula: The makeupgeek formula for eyeshadows is superb, they are intensly pigmented and highly blendable, this is the same for the foiled set only that these ones bling like they are full of little diamonds. Even though they are designed to look like highly metallic shiny shadows they haven't resorted to dumping a load of glitter in there and rather have a beautiful formula for that metallic look. All the colours I own are stunning and I get complimented daily on them. I personally love to use them as an accent on the lid or an inner corner. These shadows also are long lasting, don't smudge which is why I love them for inner corner application and are just creamy enough to blend over the lid without being smudgy or being too powdery.
Colours owned: Whimsical Starry Eyed Fortune Teller High Wire Day Dreamer Fantasy Magic Act Mesmerized In The Spotlight Showtime
My favourite is magic act it has the most intense true gold that looks great against any eye colour.
Looooove looooove looooove oh did I mention I love these?!?? I have a few friends that keep telling me how amazing makeup geek shadows are so I finally took the plunge!
Buying them on their website is basic and straightforward. They arrive extremely well packaged and even have a personalised handwritten note.
They come in cardboard slips. The pan is a really good size. The formula is very creamy for a powder. The metallic is stunning. The colours stay put and don't come off during the day. You really don't need anything underneath them as the pigment is stunning.
My favourite colour is whimsical. I have used it as a highlight many times. I love these so much I went and brought the full foiled collection! It means I'll have quite a few double ups but I'm all good with that
Wowzers these are intense! The lightest touch to the surface of these foiled shadows yields the most intense pigmentation I have seen in my life. Whimsical looks in the pan like a shimmery pink, but swatches as a boom in your face shimmery silver with only a hint of pink (thank goodness as I don't love pink on my eyes). The formula is so buttery soft and smooth and this blends out like an absolute dream.
The only issue I have with this colour is its so intensse and dramatic I am not sure when I will get chance to wear it! This is perfect for nightime IMO and it would look amazing for a cocktail party or for clubbing.
Would love to get my hands on some more shades, a firm new MUG fan here!
I love the regular MUG shadows, they are holy grail to me. So when the foiled shadows were released I splurged on a few shades.
Magic Act: a beautiful soft gold
Mesmerized: a beautiful mid brown.
In The Spotlight: a peachy champagne (I'm sure the site has better descriptions btw!)
Centre Stage: a vibrant dark blue
Houdini: a vibrant dark green
Caitlin Rose: a gorgeous soft purple (not quite as pigmented as the others unfortunately)
Whimsical: pale pink
Starry Eyed: soft champagne.
Currently my favs would be the last 2, Whimsical is beautiful for an inner eye highlight.
These apply best when using your finger or a firm flat eye shadow brush. They feel very buttery and smooth.
While they cost more then the regular eyeshadows, you get the same amount of shadow. These definitely have more wow factor tho! Not for the faint hearted!
To me these seem like a pressed version of the L'Oreal infallible eye shadows. They're super pigmented and they have an amazing foiled finish and because they're pressed in a pan they're super easy to use and travel with. They also have a wide range of colours to choose from and a little goes a long way because of how pigmented they are. They have plenty of more neutral shades for those that want a pop of shimmer but don't want something super colourful. 100% recommend
My favourite eyeshadow choice is MUG and there isn't a release I haven't loved. Their foiled eyeshadows were released in a set or as singles, of course I grabbed the set containing all the shades.
Decent amount of product packed into each pan, the foil effect is very intense but yet creamy enough to allow you to either pack it on as an accent or blend for a softer wow. Pigmentation is spot on, and the price isn't bad considering the quality and amount you get.
Have had MUG eyeshadows for over 2 years and they still perform as well as the day I brought them.
MUG foiled eyeshadow are unbelievable.
They take eyeshadows to a whole never level. I know that sounds dramatic but it is true. They are such a unique eyeshadow, with a unique formula. These eyeshadows are incredible. Pigmented does not even begin to describe the colour pay off, the vibrancy or the richness these eyeshadows have. They are creamy, buttery and silky smooth. One light swatch gives great coverage, but they can also be packed onto the eyelid for a more intense look.
They are sold separately, for around 10usd each, which I have to admit, is expensive. But I like being able to buy the colours I actually want. Plus, it also means I can build up my palette at my own pace, when I can afford it.
I have it in the following colours
In the Spotlight- This colour is a gorgeous all over lid shade, which is a peachy-pink colour.
Grandstand- A beautiful warm brown, which I would consider the most neutral shade from the foiled collection
Mesmerized- A taupe eyeshadow with a soft hint of purple .
Showtime- A brown mixed with a burgundy hue. Absolutely stunning, and one of my favourites.
Flame Thrower- Technically this colour can be called a copper eyeshadow, but when I look at this I just see a gorgeous flame orange, and this is a eyeshadow that makes a statement.
Houdini- A cool toned emerald hue, with a blue undertone. This is a colour that is a little bit outside of my comfort zone, but it is so unique, I could not resist.
There are a few slight negatives with this product. The first is these eyeshadows are not as long-lasting as the original MUG eyeshadows, but that could be because of my slightly oily lids. Also, blending these eye shadows takes some technique because otherwise the colour just disappears. However, the more I use these eyeshadows, the better I get at making them look good. Practice makes perfect right.
