Manicare Flawless Complexion Sponge Review

I used this sponge wet and dry on different days.

first lets start out with using it wet, like my current beauty blender it creates a more dewy finish and a bit less coverage but still does an awesome job with applying foundation. I also used the fact side for baking, this was effect because it is wet the powder stayed on the sponge nicely and i could really get the product on my skin. it blended out my cream contour nicely. The one thing I don’t really like about this pro cut is the shape, there are ups and downs about the shape, I like it because of the flat side it is easy for baking and also smoothing out foundation but there is no pointy end on the sponge to get into small spaces like the corner of your nose or right under your eye, this is a small minor problem, nothing to stop you from getting this cheap version of a beauty blender.

the next day I used the sponge dry. personally I liked the way the sponge performed when it was wet more then dry, I felt like the sponge was softer and the outcome was a lot more less harsh and intense, it’s completely up to if you like loads of coverage or just medium coverage. baking was a little harder as the powder wouldn’t really stick to the sponge because it was dry, it blended cream contour fine.

Overall I really liked this product and for the price it is definitely worth a try :)

The sponge does feel much harder and more solid than other makeup sponges but once its wet its more soft and easier to use. I think that because its that bit more solid it doesn't tend to soak up and waste more product than the competitors and I prefer using it wet but dry also works well. It blends out my concealer perfectly and with the flat edge that makes it easier to get around my eyes and nose. I put foundation directly on my face and then blended by pouncing it into the skin and didn't leave any streaks or uneven patches and works as well with thick and thinner foundations equally. I will definitely continue to use this product.

The product name says it all 'Flawless complexion sponge.' It really does give me an amazing flawless finish on my foundation. I love the instructions of using a pushing technique to get better coverage, using less foundation. A great way to save time and money (on foundation.) It is also very handy that it is double sided - the flat side for applying foundation and the rounded edge to apply concealer. The flat side works awesome to really get in around the eyes, nose and right up to the hair line. The sponge is silky soft and i will definitely be my new makeup applicator!

Well; other than using thin, flat, cheap synthetic sponges years ago I am new to trying these foundation/concealer sponges - I know! where have I been hiding? So, I am also a new user to applying foundation with brushes having just been bought a lovely new set from a friend. I did like applying my foundation with a brush but this sponge has taken it to a new level. In short, I love it! It really does do what is says on the packet & then some. I read the tips on how to use it & tried every option. The flat side applies the foundation easily & I had no problem using it for concealer under my eyes. It was soft enough so that it did not tug the skin but firm enough to do the job properly. The blurb says to use a pushing technique to get more coverage & a push & roll technique to blend & these worked too. For a dewy coverage it says to dampen the sponge & use dry for more coverage. I actually prefer a matte finish in addition to looking like I am not wearing makeup & although this is mostly due to the foundation I choose, the sponge helped with this outcome too. As I said, I am new to sponges so cannot compare with other ones on the market other than price, as this seems a very reasonably price compared to the others. If you are new to this tool, then I would definitely recommend trying this one first or if you are unhappy with what you are using - give it a go. Would I use it again - as long as it doesn't disintegrate after a few weeks then definitely; it really has been an improvement to my make-up bag. I was super excited to trial this sponge. The main thing I love about this sponge is the shape as it allows you to get into hard to reach areas. The sponge worked best for me when damp by blending make up out perfectly leaving my skin looking flawless and dewy. For the price I think this sponge is great and I will most likely purchase it in the future.

Comparing this sponge to others I've used, I love it! The main difference is it's nice and firm, I feel like you don't lose as much product in it compared to less dense sponges. Also being super soft is ideal and so nice on the skin.

I was pretty excited to try this because my well-worn Kmart blending sponge definitely is past its prime.

When used properly (damp) it is very dense and springy, and I found that it didn't soak up much product at all, which is a plus. I used this sponge to both apply and blend my liquid foundations - normally I have to apply it with my fingers as my other sponges and foundation brushes soak up too much of it - and to blend out my cream concealer and contour.

It expands to about double the original size, and retains its soft bounciness whist damp. I didn't really follow the instructions on the packaging for application, but the angled side was perfect for applying product around my nose and under the eyes. I think the shape overall makes the sponge useful for the entire face.

I used this for my dance competition on the weekend and it definitely helped the makeup process go smoothly.

This sponge comes with the classic rounded end and the new addition of a flat side. They recommend using the sponge wet for a lighter coverage and dry for a fuller coverage.

Now, before anything else - the beauty sponge, no matter what brand will absorb your product so the overall outcome will always be a slightly more sheer coverage. However, because of the flat side of this sponge, allowing you to apply your foundation and concealer in a pressing motion against your skin, this truly does improve the coverage - I found that although some product was being absorbed, my foundation was still giving me the coverage I needed, whilst blending seamlessly so it looked natural yet it still hid any cheeky blemishes.

I also really enjoyed the flat side for precision blending of my concealer, I was able to get in close to my eye (without feeling like I was going to squash or poke it!).

Using the sponge wet, does as it says it will - gives a slightly more sheer coverage but it also creates a really beautiful dewy complexion - so if you're having a great skin day and/or want a natural, glowing look - the wet sponge is definitely your go-to.

As with any beauty tool - it's important to wash this regularly and I would encourage after every use. Bacteria does build quickly on these sponges and that can create breakouts. The sponge cleaned easily enough (with warm, soapy water) but there was still some foundation/concealer residue/staining left afterward that I couldn't get completely rid off.

Overall, this product genuinely does what it says it's supposed to. It's fantastic value for money and I will definitely use it again. It's great to know that you don't have to shell out a silly amount of money, (especially when you're just paying for the 'brand') and get a good quality product.

I got this sponge as a GWP with a BBBE. I'm always up for something new, so I couldn't wait to try it. I usually use sea sponges or brushes so I was interested in making a comparison.

It is a pretty pink and egg shaped with a flat side for applying the product. Since I've tried and fallen in love with Za CC cream, that goes on first, applied with the flat end of the sponge, (after moisturiser and some Elizabeth Arden oil) then Dove tinted moisturiser (which is quite thick) also with the application end of the sponge. Then I roll the sponge over it, as per the instructions, to smooth and blend it.

I have to say, I'm very happy with the results. My skin looks smooth and even afterwards.

I've only been using it dry so far as I've had no reason to change, but will try it wet also eventually just to see what it does.

I tried washing it but the tinted moisturiser stain stays on it. That doesn't bother me too much, but if anyone has a way to get it perfectly clean, then I'd be happy to try that.

I'd certainly recommend it to friends to try.
