I found that this made any slight curl in my lash drop, this is a very black pigmented mascara but does to and any length or volume to the lash

It gets the job done, I used to use this allot. For the price it is defiantly worth it. But it doesn’t extend your lashes to their full potential like some other mascaras do. It lasts a long time and doesn’t dry out when not used regularly like some do.
I came back to this a couple years ago after it being my absolute go to in my younger years. I'm sure it's still great, but I've moved on.
I now find the packaging a little dated and the wand too thin. The formula is okay - darkens lashes and makes them stand out, but no real lengthening, volumising or curling properties.
Basically, this is an entry level mascara that is affordable, wears well, isn't too dramatic and will last you throughout your day, but it's no longer what I like to wear on my eyes.
Tips: cheap enough to try - and great as a spare, starter, or if you're not a huge mascara fan.
I love Maybelline mascaras and this was my favourite back in the 90s. I even remember my mum using it back in the 1970s. I did try it again recently just because it is such a classic, and for those retro vibes, but I was actually pretty disappointed.
As far as what I would have expected of a mascara back in the day, its fine. Back then I would have just expected something that coloured my lashes but nowadays I expect (and need) more! It doesn't really lengthen, thicken or curl, all of which my puny lashes need. So sadly, I'll be leaving this one in the past where it belongs.
I’ve been using this recently as I’m on a tighter budget, and it’s not bad for the price. Not amazing, but does the job.
Tips: A decent enough mascara if you are on a budget.
I purchased this mascara when I was in Whangarei for a wedding. It worked amazing for 1 day and then the heat and humidity ruined the texture of the mascara. It became runny and applied clumpily.
Tips: Keep in a cool area or it'll become runny
I mean, this used to be the holy grail when I was younger. Unfortunately when using it now, it is not as good when comparing to other mascaras. I always am up for trying new mascaras. This one does as it should and is a cheaper option for some people. I do find that it comes off and you can be left with panda eyes. Used to be great for my emo days but now? Not a look.
Tips: Definitely do two coats.
This is a good average mascara for everyday wear, but it didn't cover as good as I would have liked. The brush is average. Maybe ok for a Teens first mascara.
Love how it goes on my lashes, but it smudges! I end up with smudges on the top of my eyes, under brow bone and also under my lower lash line, Super annoying!!
Tips: Maybe don't use oil based skincare? Perhaps a powder around your eyes might help. To be honest, not for me.
I think the selling point of this mascara is the price and how long it's been around. It's fairly inexpensive as mascara goes and been around since the 70s or something like that.
It didn't do much for my lashes. I found the spoolie very easy to use but it left my lashes as straight as ever. Mine are very short so I have to use mascara to make it look like I have lashes in the first place and this one just didn't do the job as well as previous mascaras I have used from Maybelline. I did get the waterproof one and that held up very well since my eyelids are supremely oily so if that's what you're looking for and nothing else, this mascara will do the job!
I doubt I'd get this again. There's mascaras out there that are cheaper and could potentially be better than this one.
