Firstly I would like to thank Beauty Review for trusting me with this product to trial.
I am almost convinced that this is the ONE. I really enjoy using this foundation and I will definately purchase this once I have finished this trial bottle.
$33.99 for 30mls is great value in the world of foundations. This comes in a square clear glass bottle with a very convieniant plastic pump lid in white.
The shade I chose was sand, it was an amazing match considering I only had online swatches to look at.
I firstly used this foundation without a primer to see how it worked. I applied with my finger tiops as I usually do and it went on evenly and smoothly. I really liked the coverage it gave me, I do need a full cover foundation as I have quite an uneven skin tone. I am always concerned about getting a shiny look as the day goes on, however not one bit of a glow was present all day, thats a real plus for me! It is one of those foundations that while you are wearing it you actually dont realise it is on, it is very light weight. I was super happy with the staying power, it really stayed all day, until I cleaned it off that evening. I used my usual make up remover and it came off easily.
The following day I used a primer and had the same satisfying result. No shiny face or make up moving throughout the day.
Overall I am super happy with this foundation and will repurchase it when next I require a new foundation.
So, I was really really excited, like kid in a candy store level excitement..to be chosen to trial the new Maybelline lip ink and this foundation! Let's get to it!
I really love the sleek modern square glass bottle and that it has a pump that measures the perfect amount and doesn't go everywhere when I put it on the back of my hand or my mixing palette.. Unlike my normal Estée Lauder double wear foundation does. They have an amazing range of shades but the shade I chose was #16P and the formula is a perfect liquid, not too thick not to thin but just right.. I thought I would try both with a slightly wet beauty blender and with my ChiChi mixed mediums #106 buffing brush.. It actually worked fantastically with both and I can't say I have a clear fav for application. I found the look of the foundation really lovely and it kind of reminded me of my double wear in coverage as it was med/heavy but easy to build up if more coverage was wanted. I found the 24hr claim for me was actually more of a 16hr time frame, not to be scoffed at as no touch ups were required through the super humidity we are having and I loved how matte the look was too! Teamed with a setting spray and matte powder, It really did stay put and my combination but verging on the dry side more, skin type really liked the formula. It did feel like I was wearing a full face of foundation so I also tried thinning it out with my normal Sukin face moisturizer and that worked really well for a less makeup look and feel too. To summarize I feel like if and when I run out of my double wear, I will definitely repurchase this!
Tips: Use with a slightly damp beauty blender. Thin it out and make a tinted moisturizer with your favorite moisturizer.. :)
