Maybelline Superstay Matte Lip Ink Review

I am glad to be part of trial team for this fabulous Lip Ink. I received Voyager and it is an amazingly sexy and bold shade. I applied a thin layer and pressed my lips to spread it and it settled so well. It stayed on my lips for the whole day till I woke up next morning to see its still there without fading. The best think I liked about it is that my lips were not sticky (which I don't like) as I experienced with other superstay lipsticks. The other reason I liked about Maybelline Superstay Matt Lip Ink is that it won't leave a stain on your glass/cup (again which I don't like) and it won't smudge after you eat. As I hate to look like a Dracula after eating my food and to see my lipstick ruin before even the party is finished. Thanks Maybelline for maintaining the high quality as always.

I absolutely love this lippy. I got the colour Lover to review and the colour was spot on to what I normally wear. The product is true to what it says. I put it on before work and is still on when im about to go to bed. Highly recommend.

My 'Pioneer' drenched lips defended themselves very well against cheesecake, copious coffee, and salty fries. The ink formula, with its nifty arrow applicator, is like a dye for your lips but entirely non-drying. It felt very light for a highly-pigmented product. 'Pioneer' is a bold pinkish-red. What set this apart from other red lippies is its definition, it is a loyal comrade and won't pass enemy lines (ie. messy bleeding outside lip line). The ink allows a more controlled application, unlike more creamy/thick lipsticks. Once it is set, you can trust it to stay in line (no awkward mid-street touch-ups necessary). Like the punk ethos of safety pins and d.i.y patches, using this is like colouring-in with a felt tip in detention. Very sleek packaging. It looks very high-end with its simple rectangular tube and contrasting white cap. The colours are easy to determine, in a line-up, as they saturate two-thirds of the exterior tube. I love the crimson colour as wearing it makes me feel strong, confident, and sexy. Red lipstick symbolises uncompromising femininity and sisterhood. The suffragettes wore red lipstick to marches, women in World War Two craved it, and this has carried on into feminist protest lately too. To have a lipstick, like Maybelline Superstay Matte Ink, which will not budge, only adds to this spirit of resilience and visability. The name of this shade, 'Pioneer" is particularly fitting to this spirit- long may it reign!

This is amazing! I love a matte liquid lip that makes applying super easy - so easy to get clean lines. The colour is gorgeous and it definitely stays all day! I applied in the morning. It survived multiple hot beverages and meals and maybe a cheeky kiss or two as well! Highly highly recommend. Only downfall is the applicator - its a weird shape for getting super precise lines so requires extra attention and time.

I chose the colour 'lover'. It was super pigmented and the colour was great. Really easy to apply and lives the shape of the brush which allowed me to shape my lips and avoid applying product to skin around my lips. It dried super fast and the colour stayed put all day! Eating and drinking did not appear to affect it . It was slightly drying and died try out my lips throughout the day

what great colours i tryed romantic this was a lovely shade not a colour i would wear but is still very nice and would love to try the other colours

I chose the colour "Voyager" to review. It is a dark red with berry undertones. The packaging is true to colour and looks very chic.

The wand applicator is shaped in a point with a hole in the middle to hold product. It is firm and not too fluffy, which helps give a clean application. The tip also gives precision and I did not need to use a lip liner.

It has a sweet, fruity-caramel scent which is not overpowering. The colour was very opaque and covered my lips in one swipe.

It took a while to dry down and was sticky for a few minutes, but eventually dried down to a matte finish. It is not crumbly and stays on very well with no transferring. It did not remove with micellar water, but came off easily with an oil cleanser.

I would like to try other shades in this range.

I was super excited to try this - a matte lippy in such a fab red shade. First application was tough - you need to be super precise and I felt a little like a kid raiding her Mumma’s make up. It took me a fair while to apply and I think I ended up putting too much on because it dried a bit weird. Very matte, which I loved, but a little sticky at the same time, and heavy towards the inside of my lip. It did last for ages though - most of the day and through eating. It did cling to dry bits on my lips though. But staying power is definitely up there. Second time I used a lip scrub before hand and it went on a little easier. Used less this time and went more smoothly. Still didn’t really like the feel on my lips so I added a smidge if creamier lipstick on top which gave me a really nice finish and it lasted all night. Overall, I’ll definitely persist with trying it because it’s a great colour and stayed put, but I wasn’t in love straight away.

Okay so I have been a big lover of this whole matte lip game for awhile so I was super excited to try this one out. The formula is so great and the colour is super pigmented and it wasn't patchy and lasted the whole day no issues. So that part was a win, unfortunately I found the applicator super hard to use. It's straight, thin and not very flexible and I could not for the life of me get it on perfect. After several attempts and a pile of cotton pads I ditched the applicator all together and used my lip brush which was fine. I tried it again with the applicator another day which only led to more frustration and some self doubt. However I wear lipstick everyday and don't have this problem with my usual brand so I assume I can't be the only one. it's a shame because the formula is really great but all the fussing about with the brush is a deterrent and I haven't used it since. I think with all the competition for liquid matte lipstick out there the whole package has to be bang on for me to pay it any attention.
