I purchased this from Countdown they are on special at the moment for $15 usually $25. The packaging caught my eye, it came in a nice black and gold tube cardboard box. Anyway, I found it gave my lashes good length but its very much just like any other mascara i have used. I would recommend scraping the wand on the sides of the mascara first otherwise will be clumpy. An ok mascara, not great, just like most other drug store mascaras.

I love how this product was packaged as well as the colouring. I love the length that it gives my lashes, how ever there is not alot of volume.
Tips: Scrape off excess mascara so that it does not clump you lashes together, also if your wanting to add the volume then I would suggest using a eyelash fiber.
Thankyou BR for allowing me to trial this range.
The packaging is sleek and trendy. It has no scent. I personally do not like the "big shot" brush, mine doesn't look like the picture, my bristles are extremely short which make for a horrible application on my lashes. It applied too much Mascara and left my lashes looking lumpy and stuck together.
So I tried an old favorite mascara brush of mine and found the application alot smoother and non clumpy....
The Mascara itself was jet black and left my lashes looking more bolder. I like the end result.
To wash this mascara off however was a mess, I used makeup remover wipes and a foam cleanser but it smudged around my eyes and left them black. I also had a slight panic attack when it looked like my lashes were coming off but then I realized that it was what the Mascara looked like when you rubbed it off....like fibres...
I would recommend but will not purchase as it needs a better bristle brush unless mine was faulty because like I said....my brush looked nothing like the one in the picture.
Tips: Hard to remove off skin so use a good cleanser. You also only need a small amount
Thanks Beauty Review for this trial. I was excited to trial a new mascara, I am still searching for my holy grail. After this trial, I am still searching. I am not saying there is anything wrong with this one, however I felt it didnt live up to its promise of fully loaded volume in one coat.
I did enjoy the brush, it was a bit different to my usual brush, this was wavy. I felt I got length but not the volume.
I am not currently using a lash serum so my lashes need some help with looking thicker.
The formula was quite nice, the colour was awesome and it didnt flake off throughout the day. It removed really well with my usual eye makeup remover. Overall, not too bad but not my favourite mascara.
I’m normally a fan of Maybelline mascara, believing that generally for the price point you can’t go wrong. However, while I don’t dislike this particular mascara it’s not going to be my go to and here’s why. While I love the gold packaging, the shape of the tube annoys me as it’s unnecessarily colossal, doesn’t fit into my acrylic makeup tray compartments and takes up too much room in my makeup purse. Maybelline isn’t the only brand that packages mascara in unwieldy shapes, I just don’t understand the need! The mascara itself is okay. Okay as in, I like the wand shape and size, not too big, not too small, nice and straight, not curvy, therefore, makes the mascara easy to apply and less like to land on places other than your actual eyelashes. But, the bristles on the wand are stubby which I found to make the mascara quite clumpy on application. It certainly didn’t volumise as the name suggests, although it did enhance the length. If you have the patience to apply coats of mascara and brush through to separate your lashes then you might be happy with this product. If you are a more of a slap dash, one coat girl like myself, it might not be the mascara for you!
Tips: Use another brush to separate your lashes and layer for volume.
I have long, thick and straight lashes teamed with hooded eyelids. I wanted a product that would: - be easy to apply - be affordable - be waterproof - make my lashes appear bigger, fuller and appealing This product gave me all of the above.
Tips: I like to heat my eyelash curler up with a hairdryer before curling my lashes before applying product.
I also like to sit my mascara in a bowl of hotwater to help with easy clump free application.
Goes on nice and creates a lovely lash. Good texture and easy to apply, doesn’t look to glunky as some do. My only thing about this is it’s very hard to remove at the end of the day, it stays quite stuck on even with makeup remover. So I probably wouldn’t use it again because of this unless I didn’t have anything else.
I usually love Maybelline mascaras and i was thinking yay for this one but its just ok. I got the blackest black to trial and i was disappointed it wasn't a waterproof one as i tend to get itchy eyes towards the end of the day which has happened and yep its smudges quite easily. The brush is pretty full on and coats your lashes well if you take your time to do it and wiggle from the bottom out. Its not a one coat wonder like it claims to be. I find it a good size to hold and easy to use just not a fan of not waterproof ones so if i can find it in the waterproof option then it may come home with me.
It was probably going to be a tough ask for this mascara to compete with my current HG (Too Faced Better than Sex mascara, FYI!), however this didn't do too bad a job. I didn't find this formula too clumpy, and it didn't flake or smudge on me even in the Auckland December humidity, which is pretty good going for any mascara. This mascara didn't quite live up to my high hopes on volume or length (particularly given the name!) but it did an ok job on both. On the whole, quite a good (and easy to find, accessible brand) mascara, though I don't know that I'll be giving up my current fav any time soon!
Tips: Wait for the first coat to fully dry before going in for a second - this will help to avoid clumping!
I love mascara, i mean who wouldnt to be honest when it does so many things for your lashes. So this was going to be an interesting review considering im used to certain brands of mascara. Packaging: Love the shiny tube im like a magpie and drawn to it immediately. It is the same usual maybelline tube that we all know so no change there. Brush: Thankfully the bristles are not as large as i thought they would be, which makes for easy brushing on the lashes, the wavy wand however made me wonder what that was for? Formula: Very black which i love, easy to wipe off immediately when you make those pesky errors, clumps quite quickly if you apply too much and you get spider lashes. It comes off well with both facewash with makeup remover as well as with Micellar Water. A Little bit fibery when removing so just be careful where that goes, especially for contact lens wearers. Durability: lasts pretty well, but not as much as the old benefit mascaras would. Volume: Definite Volume increase, however im a length kind of gal so it took a few goes before i could get it how i wanted. Overall: Good cheap mascara for everyday use! Probably would buy in a hurry if needed but not a preferred choice.
