I love the packaging of this product, the tube is nice and eye catching and easy to hold. The brush has short rubber bristles which usually I dont like however this one is a little different, the bristles aren't as densely packed so it's easier to coat lashes. The formula is nice and very opaque black and coats lashes throughly with one swipe, also very easily coats lower lashes and really lengthens them. The formula does not run, I have cried, sweated and rubbed my eyes and it does not budge. Is easily removed with a makeup cloth and water. I will use this mascarra again.

Tips: Dont rush application, formula is quite liquid so can get messy in a hurry!
I’ve been using more expensive mascaras for years now and this mascara didn’t make me change my mind. I know a lot of people swear by Maybelline mascaras, but I’ve tried a lot of types and they’re just not working for me. This one promised so much volume, yet it doesn’t voluminise my lashes at all, all it does is coating them nice and black, but it doesn’t lengthen them or make them look fuller. I really love how black it is though, it might sounds stupid, but there’s a difference between black and black and this mascara is very very black! I like my lashes separated and this clumps a tiny bit, so need to make sure to separate the lashes that stick together. It doesn’t smudge throughout the day though, which is fantastic, since I work around ovens a lot, so melting my makeup off wouldn’t be too surprising. It’s not a bad mascara for the price, although the prices are climbing higher and higher for Maybelline mascaras, but definitely get them on special if you can!
I've used a lot of different budget mascaras but Colossal Mascara always seems to be my base when judging how other mascaras go onto my eyelashes. It's been in a market for years now yet nothing can really compare to it, i'd recommend it for people who want that visible mascara look to add more depth, a bit clumpy- not really for a someone who wants a natural eyelash look. The wand and the formula is a great combination for that nightout look.
Goes on nice and creates a lovely lash. Good texture and easy to apply, doesn’t look to glunky as some do. My only thing about this is it’s very hard to remove at the end of the day, it stays quite stuck on even with makeup remover. So I probably wouldn’t use it again because of this unless I didn’t have anything else.
I usually love Maybelline mascaras and i was thinking yay for this one but its just ok. I got the blackest black to trial and i was disappointed it wasn't a waterproof one as i tend to get itchy eyes towards the end of the day which has happened and yep its smudges quite easily. The brush is pretty full on and coats your lashes well if you take your time to do it and wiggle from the bottom out. Its not a one coat wonder like it claims to be. I find it a good size to hold and easy to use just not a fan of not waterproof ones so if i can find it in the waterproof option then it may come home with me.
It was probably going to be a tough ask for this mascara to compete with my current HG (Too Faced Better than Sex mascara, FYI!), however this didn't do too bad a job. I didn't find this formula too clumpy, and it didn't flake or smudge on me even in the Auckland December humidity, which is pretty good going for any mascara. This mascara didn't quite live up to my high hopes on volume or length (particularly given the name!) but it did an ok job on both. On the whole, quite a good (and easy to find, accessible brand) mascara, though I don't know that I'll be giving up my current fav any time soon!
Tips: Wait for the first coat to fully dry before going in for a second - this will help to avoid clumping!
I have been using this mascara for about the last 3 months or so and have finally got around to writing a review about it.I had big expectations on this and unfortunately it did not deliver for me.I found the formula was thick and made my lashes clump so most of the time I would have to wipe some of the mascara off on a tissue then apply to my lashes.I did find that my lashes had a bit more volume after two or three coats of this and it seemed to work better than any other mascaras in the maybelline range but colour wise, the black barely stood out on my lashes and it looked like I was not wearing any mascara so that was disappointing. This mascara tends to dry out quickly too but I did not notice any flaking or smudging and it was easy to remove at the end of the day and I just used my regular facial wash. For a day time mascara this works ok but it's not something I would use again for a night time look.
I purchased this from Countdown they are on special at the moment for $15 usually $25. The packaging caught my eye, it came in a nice black and gold tube cardboard box. Anyway, I found it gave my lashes good length but its very much just like any other mascara i have used. I would recommend scraping the wand on the sides of the mascara first otherwise will be clumpy. An ok mascara, not great, just like most other drug store mascaras.
I love how this product was packaged as well as the colouring. I love the length that it gives my lashes, how ever there is not alot of volume.
Tips: Scrape off excess mascara so that it does not clump you lashes together, also if your wanting to add the volume then I would suggest using a eyelash fiber.
My natural lashes are relatively straight and downward pointing, and not super long and full, and I always have a hard time finding a mascara that really holds a curl. I had been a Japanese mascara that was nice and black and able hold the curl in my lashes so I was excited try this one and hopefully find one that is easier to get a hold of.
This mascara comes with a cone-shaped brush that is slightly tapered at the end and wavy bristles which claims to "hold and load the collagen-infused formula". The bristles held on to a good-amount of mascara so that I didn't need to constantly scrape any excess off. The wand brushed through my lashes easily and they did a really good job at separating my lashes so they didn't stick and clump together. However, I do wish that the wand was just a bit smaller because although the end of the brush was tapered, I found that it was still a tad too big for me to get into and coat the inner corner lashes really well and I had to be super careful to not get mascara on the eyelid.
The formula of the mascara was not too wet and dried down relatively quickly after application. My lashes were darker and thicker after one coat and there was minimal clumping. But I didn't see any noticeable effect on lash length. I wore this for at least 8 hours a day, and did not experience any flaking or smudging, and the mascara still came off relatively easily when I used an oil cleanser.
This mascara was able to hold my curl, however if I did not wait for it to dry before using a make-up setting spray, then the curl did fall quite a bit - not all the way back down to their natural state, but enough to be noticeable.
Overall, I am pleasantly surprised and would definitely use it again.
Tips: One coat gives decent coverage, but definitely use a second coat if you are after a more intense effect.
