Maybelline The Colossal Cat's Eyes

I was very pleasantly surprised when i bought this cheap mascara on sale and discovered that it was not so bad for a simple, quick everyday look. I like the curved brush and I think it helps to lift and curl the eyelashes. Also I find this mascara defines and gives an extra length to my lashes and opens up my eyes more. I'm really happy with this product nit to mention the price and its very good for a subtle everyday look for a mum who is always a rush :)

I use this mascara a lot, it comes in a very similar bottle to the original colossal. The bottle has a cool leopard print on it. The brush of this mascara is very nice and easy to coat each lash as it is curved. It does have some nice volume but I wouldn't say 8x the volume for my lashes. The formula lasts all day and doesn't crumble off at all. A good everyday mascara.

I hate this mascara. When I first applied it my lashes looked pretty. They were full and separated. But later in the day I look in the mirror and my lashes were all clumped together. And if you buy the non waterproof it smudges

I really like this mascara. I bought it as id seen so many adverts and liked the idea of 'cats eyes' and it didn't disappoint. It made my lashes look fuller and really separated them. I didn't find that it came off throughout the day or clumped them together. It also looks really good on my bottom lashes. The mascara really makes a difference to my makeup look, my eyes look bigger and more dramatic. I will stick with this for a while!

I had been wanting this mascara for ages and when I finally purchased it was just as good as what I thought, with a curved brush/wand it give something different to every other mascara out there and I find it fits to the curve of my eye perfectly to coat every lash. It does make your lashes look long especially on the outer corner but I wouldn't say wild, if it made them thicker this would be my holy grail but for me I find I need to use another mascara on top for thicker bolder lashes. The packaging I love with the orangey feline pattern which sets it apart from the original the colossal volum' express mascara. The smell is what you would expect it remind me of new shoe smell and not chemically which is a plus. I bought this at a make up sale so didn't pay full retail but I really do think this is a must have to try.

Great mascara to top off your perfect smokey cat eye. It gives your lashes a nice fanned out look completely the perfect cat eye. It is also great for everyday lashes as it does't clump and gives and equal amount of length and volume - although not too much of either one.

I love this mascara! It is a little hard to take off after the day as it is waterproof. I wear this to school and I love how I don't have to worry about it dripping down into my face on rainy days! I had it on a rainy day quite few times but it never dropped off! The wand is a little difficult to use for the inner corner of the eye but it's great for the rest of your eye haha and since its curved, it lifts up your lashes a little bit in my opinion! Overall, I think this is a great product to use!

Truth be told a mainly bought this product because of its pretty packaging. This mascara worked well at giving my lashes lots of volume but not so much length. I mainly use this mascara on my lower lashes as the slimmer brush make it easier to cover smaller lashes without smudging. The waterproof one worked well at keeping my lashes in place and voluminised all day long. Would be nice if the had a black brown option as the black was a little too dark for me when I wanted a more natural look.

I love maybeline but this particular brush I am not a big fan off. I bought this mascara and ended up swapping the brush. It was just a bit too award for me to use...

I've tried a lot of mascaras and the original colossal mascara is one I go back to. So I thought I'd give the cat eye version a go.

Using the wand at first can be a bit intimidating as it's not quite the shape of the conventional mascara wand. But with a little practice you'll get the hang of it.

In terms of length and volume, just like pretty much every mascara I found it took more than one stroke to add length and volume to my lashes. I usually build it up over several root to tip strokes. This does then add volume and length but of course never as much as they advertise.

In comparison to colossal I think they have fairly similar outcomes. I think cat eyes may slightly better length and coverage, but without trying them side by side I didn't see any huge differences in the final look.

The packaging is bright and funky, perfect maybelline tie in packaging. And the wand is a slightly innovative point of difference. Though I feel like another mascara has a similar wand.

All in all, definitely worth trying.
