Maybelline The Colossal Cat's Eyes

I’ve had some great experiences with Maybelline mascaras in the past, and so my expectations of this product were quite high but unfortunately it didn’t quite make the cut for me. The consistency of this mascara was just right – not too thick, not too runny, but I found the application of it a bit messy. The instructions are to brush in one long sweep from the roots of the lashes, but I found every time I have done this, I have gotten the mascara all over my eyelids. I’ve tried not going as close to the roots, but then it doesn’t seem to work as well. I did see it lengthen my lashes, but separated them too much for my personal liking. Overall, I don’t mind this mascara, but it’s not my favourite. I won’t be purchasing this one again unfortunately.

I was really in two minds about this product, it gave good volume, which is what I look for in a mascara but it smudged around my eyes. I really liked the curved brush, I found it easy to coat all my lashes. If mascaras often smudge on you this product isn't for you, if not definitely give it a go!

I loved this mascara at first but then using the brush without creating a mess became a challenge.I would have to put it down to beginner's luck. If you have the time and skills to master the brush it's an awesome product and your eye lashes will look feline-fabulous. Unfortunately, I have limited skills and time and ended up with eyelashes clumping together. I also felt really challenged using the brush to create symmetry between my left and right outer eye lashes. There are only so many angles my arm can maneuver into to.

Great lashes are important for any look, I loved that this product was able to cut down the time I usually spend on multiple layers of mascara.

I do love that the product creates big lashes in one sweep, however it is not buildable and tends to clump lashes together. I prefer more wispy lashes and the brush coats the lashes together to become long rather than to have volume. The product also leaves fallout under the eyes by the end of the day, not that it is hard to clean and correct.

I would recommend this product to anyone who enjoys long lashes in little time, but be prepared to spend that saved time removing it later!

I was recommended this mascara recently. I heard a lot of good things about it so I decided to go out buy it. I find it works pretty good if you put it on layer upon layer. It did end up making my lashes look voluminous after a while. But overall, it's one of my favorite mascaras!

I was super excited to try this as I am forever trying to make my eyes look more cat like.

The first thing that struck me upon using this was how small and thin the brush is. I'm not sure why but I thought it may have been larger.

The formula of the mascara is nice - it's super pigmented and it goes on fairly easily although I found it takes a little while to dry.

The brush is easy to use and I like that it separates my lashes. However, I found it didn't really live up to its claims of making your eyes more cat like...

Even when I applied three coats to the outer lashes it made them look nice but not really any different to any other mascara I use.

I do enjoy the packaging of this, I think it's cute and it is really easy to spot in my collection as the yellow is so vibrant.

In my opinion the price is too high for something that I feel performs the same as other (lesser priced) mascaras. I got this at a bucket sale so I am not miffed as it was cheap but if I were going to spend $32.95 I would rather buy Benefit's 'They're Real' (my fave mascara ever).

I won't be repurchasing this but I still have a lot left so I will finish the tube. I would recommend this if it were a lot cheaper and you wanted something that is a decent mascara. However, I don't feel it lives up to its claims and the price - in my opinion - is ridiculous when the performance is so average.

I've used this mascara both in the waterproof and non waterproof versions. I feel like the water proof version is a little more clumpy, but sometimes I like that particular look.

overall I got some added length, but nothing amazing. I found that this took a little too long to dry, and was always a little sticky even hours after application.

It's wand allows for maximum coverage of all lashes, but in saying this it doesn't seperate and define each one, it clumps three or four together and after a few coats lashes can look spidery.

It is very black which I liked a lot, but it's nothing overly special.

I was really disappointed by this mascara compared with maybelline's range it isn't very good. It promises these big voluminous eyes but what you end up with is just tinted eye lashes. Colossal cat eyes brush is curved so you think that it helps with curving your lashes, it doesn't. Does it improve your volume? Barely. Whenever I use this, I am reminded of the money I wasted in buying this mascara. Don't waste your time and money buying this. It's not clumpy, that's the only thing it has going for it.

I'm not 100% sold, seems very watery and is a lil messy. I don't feel it coats my lashes as well as other mascaras.

I had been waiting to get this mascara for a long time, having heard AMAZING things about it. Finally I took the plunge and sadly I have to say I was disappointed.

The whole design was just difficult. You have to hold the wand at some obtuse angle to get it in the right place and even then I missed the edges so had to do it again to reach the outer edges of my eyes.

I also found it quite smudgey - this may be due to uncoordination however.

This mascara is okay. Not amazing but not bad either. Definitely prefer a straighter brush that's for sure!
