Perfect for beginners (and everyone else!)

I was so excited to trial this product thanks to BR. My first impressions of the case were good. The palette seemed smaller than I had imagined it to be, but it was nice and sleek looking. I liked that you could see all the colours through the clear window, but I do wish it came with a mirror. It was helpful that the packaging came with detailed instructions showing which colour combinations would work best together, and where each shade should be applied. This makes it perfect for first time eyeshadow users.

The palette comes with a sponge applicator, but I suggest you chuck it and use proper eyeshadow brushes. There are 12 shades ranging from shimmery to matte. It is easy to get both day and night looks out of these shades. For the most part they were well-pigmented and they blended easily. Some of the lighter shades required a few layers, but aside from that they worked well. I also found that the darker colours applied a lot smoother and felt more velvety, while the lighter shades were a bit powdery. The colours definitely lasted longer and were more pigmented when paired with an eyelid primer. However if you don’t use a primer it’s not a big deal, as it should still last all day.

My favourite thing about this palette is that it has more than one purpose. I used it to fill in my eyebrows and found that it worked just as well as other eyebrow fillers. It can also be used as a contour and highlight.

Overall I really enjoyed this eyeshadow palette. I would definitely repurchase this again. This was my first time trying nude eyeshadows and now it is part of my daily makeup routine. If you are just getting into makeup or eyeshadow, I seriously recommend this product for you. It is affordable and great for experimenting with.

Awesome

I love a good nude eye and I love a bargain so this is my ideal product. All the colors go well together and there is a handy guide on the back for newbies like me on suggestions to mix and match. There is a mix of shimmer and satin shades. I was not a fan of the applicator and that got thrown out pretty much straight away. I tried the powders on my eyes, eyebrows, cheeks and even lips. This palette is my new all in one and I would buy this again for sure.

Tips: For a newbie follow the guide on the back the "quads" is a great chance to get a more dramatic nude look.

I dab on the powder and finish off with a clear gloss. Great way to have an all over nude look.

Maybelline the Nudes

I wasn't fast enough to answer my invite so I missed out. I waited two weeks and couldn't resist buying this after reading some reviews. So I purchased this from the Warehouse for $30 I was expecting to pay more so was happy with that. So it comes in a nice compact case that is black and fits in my makeup bag perfectly. It has 6 shimmer colours and 6 matte with a great how to guide on the back. I have tried some of these looks and they are great so many awesome combinations in one palette. The only thing I was disappointed with was the sponge applicator and it had no mirror both of those things are easily fixed. I am happy I brought this it is so versitile. Thanks for the heads up BR

Tips: Use your own brush to apply the sponge applicator is not that flash :)

Maybelline The Nudes

I was very excited when this palette came out and couldn't wait to get my hands on it. I am all about nude eye shadow and have been wanting to learn to how contour my face for ages now.

The palette is a lot smaller in size than I initially thought it would be with each colour in the palette only being about 1cmx2cm. However, for $30 I was happy to purchase it because I was still getting 12 shades of nude.

The shades in this palette wear beautifully and all mix and match well depending on how light or dark you want your eye shadow to be. Some of the lighter shades are very light and some of the darker browns can come on very strong in comparison.

I'm still looking forward to getting a friend to help teach me how to contour when I find the time and will be using this palette to do so. (I'm just not sure a utube video will cut the mustard when I have so many shades to work work and don't have a clue where to begin)

Highly recommend this palette - surprising results

While travelling, I picked up this palette. As a fan of nudes and other palettes, I thought this would be a great product to try - and I was right!

This palette is so versatile with 12 shades (variety of bronze, browns, champagnes, and taupes). It ended up being the only eyeshadow I used for three weeks, and I never tired of the looks I could create.

While I tend to use more expensive palettes, I was curious if these eyeshadows could stand up to them, and they did surprisingly well.

The palette is shorter than others I have, but wider, with smaller square pans, however, after three weeks of continuous use, they still look full.

The shadows are soft, and there's a mix of matte and shimmer. And surprisingly, the darker shades were quite pigmented. The lighter ones not so much, and I really had to work them to get coverage, but the light shades are beautiful colours so it was worth it.

Highly recommend giving this a try, I think you'll be surprised by the quality.

I dared to go nude!

It was all the talk on BR which enabled me to try this shadow palette and Im not disappointed. I managed to nab my one on sale half price at Farmers. (woo-hoo)

After only wearing eyeshadow on special occasions due to all others irritating my lids (think eczema like) this one has been amazing at building my confidence back up with eyeshadows again.

This shadow is easy to apply and most are not super pigmented which means you can build up to the look you want - natural look to nighttime no worries!

I don't use an eye primer and find it still lasts me the whole day, although I have been prone to getting a small crease sometimes so I just do a quick check half way through the day when applying my lippy.

This would be a good beginners palette or for those wanting a good all-rounder, matte and shimmer - Id feel naked without it now!

Tips: Use different brushes for blending. (my Bossy ones work well)

The perfect palette.

The perfect palette. Wether I want a smoky eye or a natural looking eye this is my go to. I rarely stray from these tones so it's very handy to have this in my makeup bag to grab and go or for getting glam at home. My only wish was that I could get slightly more coverage with the wands provided but I have better luck using my fingers and then using the wands to blend. I love I can mix and match and usually stick to three colours - one all over, one in the crease and one to line. Sometimes the lightest colour to highlight. Great value for money.

Perfect colours for an effortless look

This palette is perfect for an easy but great look with added depth from the darker shades. Love the gold especially!

Tips: This palette doesn't include a mirror.

Nude-ilicious

I was so excited to try this out as I didn't have a full nude pallet yet so always had to use colours from different pallets! This product I would definitely recommend to others, especially beginners it's awesome. It's a pallet where all your basic colours are there that you need and it's compact enough so you can fit it in your bag for travel use as well.

Tips: Blend, blend and more blend like with any eye shadow

Not THAT kinda nude!

For me, the term 'nude' conjured up the image of wearing nothing at all, and that may be why I have avoided nudes until now...boooooo-ring! But when BR emailed me with the superhero task force offer to trial this palette (from a company I've often had good results from!), I had to say yes. This product has been hyped, and so I figured it would be a good place to start! Plus, I was on my way back from a dream trip to Japan and needed a new focus...perfect! (Thanks, BR xx)

The Maybelline The Nudes Palette comes packaged in a sleek black case with a clear window through which you can easily see the 12 shades. There is a plastic sleeve around this when you first pick it up, which has info on Quads, Trios and Duos from the product which go together. Interestingly this same information is on the back of the actual case - but it's different there, and the one on the plastic sleeve makes more sense. Typo? Confused packager? Not sure, but don't throw out the sleeve!

The palette tends towards shimmers in the lightest shades, with a couple of matte bone/taupe shades thrown in, and more matte darker colours from a mid brown through to a black.

I used all three quads, then went back to a couple of the colours that suited me better to trial this for brows, lips, and as an under-cheekbone contour. I found that using the guides helped, but instinct also helps, and if you like two colours together then they are worth a go! There is a golden shimmery shade 3 in on the bottom row that I love for inner eye and upper central lid as it really pops the gold flecks in my hazel eyes.

This is a multi-use palette, but it can't do everything – I still used base, liner, mascara etc as normal.

I haven't tested this on a full work day yet... my workdays can get up to 13 hours though :S However, I've worn the shades 4 days in a row and I'm happy with how they've lasted through a chill holiday time where I've put my makeup on closer to lunchtime than breakfast! They've also helped make me look less jetlagged and more myself!

When I applied the shadows as lip colour (over a clear gloss) they adhered exceptionally well and I was really impressed. When applied as a contour you need to blend them out with your face powder to avoid a line. On the eyes, they blend nicely. I've heard people complain about the pigmentation but I feel it's adequate for a nude palette, especially as the colour is buildable and easy to work with.

In short, I'm really impressed with this palette. I'm a 'brights and darks' girl and this was my first real foray into nudes, and I like that you can go softer or more dramatic with this palette depending on your mood. I think the shades are really well thought out and complement each other (and me!) well. I would recommend this to most people but feel that it might be too much of a range for a beginner, especially as the instructions are a little confusing with being non matching.

Tips: Use the right brushes. I used a blending brush for the 'entire eye area' and 'lid' shades, then a thinner, stiffer brush for the crease and edge of lid, and an angled brush for eyeliner and brows. It makes a huge difference.
