Maybelline Volum' Express the Colossal Review

I received this as a gift from a friend of mine. I like the bright yellow bottle, it's easy to find in my handbag because of that. The brush seems cheap, but the product in the bottle makes up for that. The point of the brush has smaller bristles than the base, and they're more closer together, yet the rest of the brush has multiple bristles placed not in a line but randomized. When i put the mascara on, It makes my eyes more bold, and I don't have to wear eyeliner on my top lids anymore, because this mascara somehow makes it look like i've got a thin line around my top lid, which i love! The brush covers most of my eyelashes, but the point of the brush doesn't do to well getting the little eyelashes in the corners of my eyes! I looked online, at the warehouse for the price, and it's only $23.99 which isn't too bad price wise. But would definitely use again and recommend to friends!

It definitely does justice to its name! I find that one swipe gives me longer lashes. The product is pretty good and the packaging is cute. If you want length - GO FOR IT - however if you're looking for natural volume, then...meh. It gives you length, yes, but if you want volume - your going to end up with spiderly lashes that totally look like your wearing mascara (which frankly isn't my intention). Mixed opinion on this really. I personally like two swipes into each lash at the most - nothing more. But if you prefer the spidery look (which some do of course) then swipe your eyelashes all you please!

This mascara left me with black bits all around my eyes! The mascara just wouldn't stay on my lashes for more than 2hours. I must admit it did make my eyelashes look long in those two hours tho!!

Colossal reminds me of High School! That's when it first came out and when I first tried it. It definitely does what it says it does - Big, big lashes, as though you're wearing Kardashian extensions or Katy Perry Falsies!

The only thing is that the hold isn't amazing - I would often find black specs had fallen from my lashes! And it does take a while to dry so I've had mishaps before where dark smudges have ended up all over my face but maybe I'm just super clumsy! Haha.

For a cheap mascara, however, it has a lot of POP! I wouldn't say no to using it again. :)

After a bad reaction to another mascara from maybelline i got this one and i actually really love how it makes my eye lashes look. i have long lashes but they are blonde so the brush actually catches the whole lot and makes it look like i have falsies in!

I love love love this Mascara!!!! It give my lashes so much volume and the formula is a really good consistency. I find that it drys really fast and i never really have any smudging. It doesnt make my eyes water like i find with a lot of other mascaras. The wand is really easy for me to use and it also give my lashes a bit of curl as well. I'm am over all impressed with this mascara!

This is definitely my favourite product of mascra of all time!!!! this is so fantastic in making your lashes look double the length without making them too clumpy. I live off this product its so amazing! adds a nice black shade onto your lashes as well without making them look to thick

I have tried other mascaras when they are on special or this one is not available but I always regret it! This is my favorite by far and always come back to using this one. Love how it makes my eyelashes look fuller and longer. :)

I've tried a couple of other mascaras since finding this one but, I keep coming back to Colossal. Although it can clump when applying extra coats, it definitely gives lashes more length and volume. When it gets older you can create a natural look with one coat or build it up for a false lash look. I will probably continue to use this mascara for years to come.

I have now had this mascara for approx 18 months. I did give it a rest for many months but have recently gone back to it & am very happy I did. First I found the smell off putting - to me it smells like the hayfever medicine of my child hood (aka torture). However, getting over my child hood scars was important, as the application is great, easy & only rarely do I have issues of it going AWOL. I mostly apply only one coat, as seldom is a second coat required.
