Maybelline Volum' Express the Colossal Review

The first time I tried this mascara was when I got it as a present. i didn't expect a big difference to any other mascara. but man was I surprised when it volumised my lashes to the MAX

the only other thing that gives me lashes like these, are eyelash extentions. I used this mascara for many years. I would even recommend it for people with sensitive eyes. I think a couple of dollars ought to be knocked off the price of this product, because I have used much better mascaras in this price range though.

it does tend to get a little clumpy a few hours after application, and it can feel a bit heavy. But it washes off very easily and doesn't dry out your lashes.

I bought this mascara when I wanted to try something new with a bit more volume than my ol'faithful.

The price point was good, a lot less than I would usually pay for mascara and the packaging looked great- loved the yellow, fun and nice and easy to spot in the bottom of my makeup bag.

The first time I used it it was ok, it was a quick makeup application that day so I just whipped it over my lashes as I hurried to be out the door by 9am! It seemed a bit thick and slightly clumpy I put that down to it being new and the brush being 'overloaded' . I didn't feel it was really anymore volumising that what I usually used which was a bit disaapointing as I had expected to notice a difference.

The next time I used was for a full makeup application as I was going out for the evening, I always take particular care doing my eyes at night. I found this mascara particularly hard to work with as I didn't get the first coat on perfectly and applying a second coat was very tricky because it dried so quickly- as soon as I tried to go over it it clumped together and I couldn't get any seperation or definition between lashes.

I continued to use it as I didn't have another one to use yet and kept having the same problem. I also noticed as time went by (not much time either- only a few weeks!) the liquid became increasingly thick and seemed to be somewhat drying out, like I would expect from a mascara towards the end of its shelf life.

I gave up on this after about 3 or 4 weeks of using it most days, I found it uncomfortable to wear (not flexible enough) and quite heavy on my lashes. Getting it on evenly was also a bit challenging at times. It was however easy to remove, coming off effortlessly with my cream cleanser ( I didnt need to use eye makeup remover ) .

I wouldn't purchase again because my ol'faithful is streaks ahead IMO.

The colossal mascara did exactly what it said, It gave me great volume lashes with just one coat. With a second coat it can get clumpy but I was happy with the volume just one coat gave that I didn't really need a second coat.

Im really not sure about this one! Brought this a while back and really torn with the results. First time I got this out and put it on first coat was okay, nothing special. Second coat was also okay, nothing special again. At thins point I was left a bit disappointed, how many layers does a girl have to apply to get some colossal effects around here?? Next time I used this I found it to be clumpy on the second layer which was less than ideal and had to run a clean mascara brush through it to try get some out! Also still noting colossal going on maybe a bit of length but nothing remarkable. This product didn't do it for me. I don't know if it was all the hype about the product that raised my expectations but I've personally used better mascaras in this price range that have given me the length and volume that I like without the clumps.

I absolutely love this mascara and believe that it does everything which it says it does.

Naturally I have long eyelashes and the thing I struggle with the most is getting the added volume to my lashes so when I first seen this product several years ago I was very interested!!

It adds a lot of volume to my lashes and really sits nicely. I find that it doesn't go clumpy unless you want that effect and it is a nice consistency.

This will continue to be a staple product of my makeup collection

The first time I used this mascara it did wonders. My lashes were long, had great volume and spread evenly without clumps. After time - even on the second or third application actually it started to become a nightmare for me to get both of my lashes looking the same the application brush was really sticky and gave my eyelashes huge lumps of mascara on the end - not ideal. I'm not very picky when it comes to mascara but if I wouldn't use it again I would not recommend it to any of my friends.

I nearly finished my first tube of this mascara and I'm still not sure if I like it or not. First of all, it can get very clumpy, so I have to be very careful not to apply more than one coats, I still need to separate my lashes sometimes, it isn't how I imagined "colossal". I purchased it because of all the good raves about it and maybe I set my expectations too high!? However I purchased the waterproof one and it really is waterproof. I have to bike to work and sometimes I'm lucky enough to bike in pissing down rain and I always check my mascara upon arrival and there is no one crease or black stain on my face at all, amazing!!

This product does everything it say it does Love love love it never leave home without it on and take it with me ..... Never know when you made need to touch up :)

Ive been using this mascara for so long now, gives nice length to your lashes and doesn't clump them up, can apply several coats for a fuller look or fewer for a more natural one

Was looking forward to trying this one when I saw it on sale at Countdown as part of the beauty sale. I wish I had read the reviews before I did.

I applied the first coat...nothing colossal went on. Tried another coat, still nothing....after about 6 coats later I did see that my lashes had some improvement with them, but definitely not what the product claimed to offer.

Not a fan!
