I had the colour range of these and was very excited initially as I thought I would be able to have a multitude of different nail designs for ages. However, one of the colours I first tried didn't even work. The product didn't come out. The second one I tried came out really fast so it was a mess. It was too much hassle for me and I ended up giving them away I didn't want them.

I'm going to pull the hipster card, because I tried these yonks before they arrived in lil ol NZ. I bought mine in the great US of A, but I did regret it upon first application. The design seems to have changed since I bought them last, as when I bought them they had a brush, rather than the new fandangly pen tip they have now.
When I opened mine, and it stated clearly "Sally Hansen nail art" I was confused, as it was a brush and you can't do very good nail art with a brush. I found it messy, very sheer (and it was black polish!) and it took forever to dry.
I wouldn't buy these again, not even with the new designed tip. They were terrible and Sally should be ashamed.
The concept of these pens is brilliant. A thin line of colour perfect for nail art looks, from a respected brand - what isn't to love? Unfortunately, they got it wrong.
I have a black, a pink, and a white one of these Sally Hansen Nail Art Pens.... not that you'd know as I can never show off the work done with them as it simply doesn't last.
I've done some amazing looks with these - my favourite being a mehndi/henna inspired white on burgundy. I finish, I carefully seal and top coat, and once they are dry I go about my life...and by the next day, the nail art pen work is pretty much gone.
I can normally get any nail product to cooperate but I prefer not to waste time and money on a good concept that hasn't worked in reality.
Tips: Do yourself a favour and spend the money on good nail art brushes instead
These actually worked like a dream. They didn't take forever to dry nor were they weird and gloopy. However, I will say that the silver one did dry matte, which I thought was weird for a metallic colour and you HAVE to seal with a top coal of the matte-metallic will scrape off. Don't think I would repurchase but this wasn't half bad!
They said it would be fun..... They said it would be easy.... They said I too could create amazing nail art with just a flick of pen..... They Lied....
I am sure you have read all the reviews on here already but in case you decided to give it a go - STOP. Stop right now.
The packaging screamed fun, funky and look at those pretty nails - surely I can do that too? But alas what I got was a pen that was so hard to get the flow of polish going but with some force and some serious bad language finally I got it going...... and then it leaked, it went everywhere and I could barely create a blob of what I wanted..... I looked like a mess.....
What I did get on my nails (I refuse to be beaten... so I kept trying) didn't seem to dry? It was quite tacky? I am not sure if this is because I of what I had on underneath the product (maybe they didn't get along?) or if this is just another special skill of this nail pen?
Luckily I only brought 2 colours (Ahhhhhh!!! WHY?>?!?!?!) but at the price they are you can imagine how I felt......
I have decided I am no longer angry I am just disappointed.
I have these pens in black and white. I find they are ok for tiny details in nail art but are quite tricky to use and get a good flow of product out of. I used the black for detail lines in a manicure and had to go over it a couple of times to get a good black, as the formula is a bit watery. I like the white for tiny cute polkadots! I wouldn't buy these again though unfortunately.
I was given one of these to try, I got Navy blue. The packaging reminds me of highschool when you had twink pens, I used to always twink my fingernails in school so I can see how this concept was made! It is very easy to use and you can get a good grip when using it, the formula comes out smooth and doesn't clump. After a day the colour comes off which is a disappointment, even when I apply a top coat it will still come off. After my trialled and failed attempts I have given this to my daughter to use, its an awesome nail pen for her, shes nearly 5 years old and she likes that she can doodle on her fingernails.
I was lucky I was gifted this pen because in my opinion I wouldn't buy this pen, not even for $10, its not worth it, the concept and thought is there but it was a fail. Their nail polishes are amazing, but the pens are a NO
Yeah, pretty much what other reviewers have said goes for me too. I do find they are okay for really basic things like adding polka dots though... but that's about it. I have the black and white pens and find I only really use the white one as found the black to be too messy. The nib does clog a bit but I must be lucky as I don't think i've had as much problem with that as others seem to. Still not what I would call a smooth flow though. I waited AGES before putting the top coat over as it will smudge otherwise.
Useless for intricate work but okay for super basic stuff.
Tips: Save your dollars - I actually find the nail pens and brushes you can buy in the $3.50 Japan store much better.
I have brought I number of different colors to try out as I love nail art and these looked simple and easy to use but are far from twas highly disappointed with these product was hard to use and poor coverage.
What a mess an over priced silly mess! I was so excited to try these. And I just remembered the disappointment and dissatisfaction of using ,or TRYING to use these. Argh. Be gone.
