I just couldn't get this foundation to work for me. I have normal skin, leading more to dry then oily. I found the only way to get this foundation to blend was by using a damp sponge, then I found it was too lighter coverage (and I'm not a fan of full coverage) it says the best way to apply is with your fingers but this didn't work for me, nor did a brush. It would look streaky and not sink into my skin. It was far too frustrating to get it too look right so I gave up on it.
When I wore it I didn't find my skin looked glowy. It was more of a satin finish which wasn't what I was looking for.
The packaging is a nice glass bottle but I think it's annoying having to buy a pump seperately. And once you have a pump the lid isn't able to be used.
They have a good selection of shades.
After hearing a lot of hype about this foundation, I finally decided to ignore the threats from my bank account and purchase it. This was something I really wanted to try because my skin is dry and often foundations end up looking either dull or patchy on me.
The bottle is small and made out of glass. It feels heavy and expensive and really well made. However - this DOES NOT come with a pump. For the price I was a bit annoyed that I had to purchase a pump separately - but I love the product so much that this is an annoyance rather than a serious detriment. Also worth noting is that once you do have a pump, the lid won't fit on the foundation - although the pump itself has a lock to prevent spillage.
I am in the shade Gobi which is rather light with yellow undertones. This is a great match for me and I used findation to match my colour.
The product itself is quite liquidy and not at all thick. True to its name it is sheer - but only in consistency. The coverage it provides is medium and definitely not sheer, although you can still see your skin through one application. My favourite things about this foundation are that - it actually looks like skin, you can build it up and the coverage is great but it still looks like skin (it doesn't make you look cakey at all), and that this is great on my dry skin.
So far I haven't had any issues with this clinging to dry patches or enhancing the dryness of my skin. As the name of the product suggests, it does have a glowy finish but this isn't super dewy. However if you prefer a matte finish then I wouldn't recommend this for you - unless you plan on applying powder over the top.
Yes this is a pricey product. However, you only need a small amount of this to completely cover your face (one pump), so this is going to last a while. This foundation lasts all day on me (12 hours), without patching up or looking weird. I do set this with a setting spray so that possibly helps prolong the wear.
I have tried both a beauty blender and a brush to apply this and have found that - for my skin, a beauty blender is far more natural and flawless looking. In saying that though a brush usually tends to micro exfoliate my skin and I prefer a BB in general.
Overall I am so, so glad I decided to splurge on this. I will absolutely repurchase it even though the cost makes me cringe. It feels lightweight on the skin, gives me a subtle, healthy looking glow and looks natural. I love this!
Tips: Get a sample of this from Mecca or a NARS counter if you want to purchase it to make sure you like it :)
