Tips: Get a really good primer, as this foundation doesn't have the same staying power as some others. A decent primer solves this problem.
I believe this will be my go to foundation for a loooooong time! First of the colour matches me perfectly, and it provides a nice coverage that isn't too full. You can apply it with fingers, sponge and brush what ever you rather (I like a beauty blender) but all give a natural look even look! Love!
I have this foundation, I quite like it because it's not cakey like the Mac foundation. It was either trying this foundation or the Estée Lauder one but I ended up trying this one. When I put it on I don't actually feel it sitting on my skin (which is really good) and my skin isn't itchy when I use it.
This has to be my go to foundation! I love the fact all i need is a primer and moisturizer to base my face before applying. It is definitely worth the money spent.
Tips: Invest in a good primer!
After seeing so many good reviews about NARS Sheer Glow I decided to try out as I wasn’t super happy with the foundation I was using at the time, wanted to try something different etc. I went to Mecca Cosmetics in Christchurch the lovely lady matched me to my colour (which I am happy with) got a primer to try and also purchased the powder. I also purchased a pump for an extra $5 (which I hate doing!) I just think all foundations should come with pumps, it makes sense to me! I went home, with my lovely little bag of goodies having spent $130 I really couldn’t wait to try it out so I took my face of makeup off when I got home and mixed the a little of the primer together with the foundation as recommended, applied with my slightly damp beauty sponge (as recommended) and it was reasonably good coverage and gave my skin a nice glow, afterwards I applied the powder (also in a nice wee black compact, quite thin so was a little disappointed as I knew it probably wouldn’t last me too long). And after applying I did like the look my skin had a nice glow and blemishes were covered just enough. But it didn’t last long.. I’ve applied several different times, with different techniques, primers too and I really just don’t get what the fuss is about? I find although the foundation, you would think to be more suited to normal/dry skin (my skin is probably more combination/oily at the moment but hoped with the powder it’d last me through the day. The foundation seems to make any dry patches I do have more noticeable and sinks into my pores even though wearing primer. After only a few hours I feel like I need to reapply powder. After using Revlon Colourstay for months which does last a whole day I am disappointed with the staying power of this foundation. The only thing I like about it is the colour, the fact it is washed off easily, the packaging and the lovely lady who served me at Mecca. This foundation would be a disaster for me in Summer. Sadly, I won’t be purchasing again as I need something that is going to last me most of the day, and a product that won’t shift around leaving my face looking like an oily mess. Personally wouldn’t recommend for combination/oily or dry.
This foundation comes in a classic looking glass bottle with the standard black Nars logo and black lid. It doesn't come with a pump but one can be purchased separately if required.
This sets reasonably fast, and I find is applied best with a brush then finished off with a beauty sponge. It gives a solid medium coverage, which I boost the coverage with in my blemish prone areas with a little powder foundation. The name Sheer Glow made me think that this would be a super dewy foundation; not the case. It feels set to touch but has a bit of luminosity to it- it really does give the impression of healthy glowy skin. I also like the way this sits on my skin throughout the day, it lasts well, and doesn't settle into my pores (although it can settle a little into fine lines). I also don't find that this gets cakey at all, it just looks very 'skin' like.
I really do think that this lives up to the hype, it is one of the nicer foundations I have tried (although I wouldn't quite give it HG status). It is one of the few foundations that I would repurchase when I run out.
I was a bit cautious about buying this Nars foundation, considering the hefty price tag but I is definitely worth the hype. It looks simply stunning on the skin, and creates a wonderful, natural looking luminosity. I would definitely recommend this product to friends and/or family.
I love this foundation, this makes me look flawless.. But with my oily skin, it doesn't last as long as mattifying foundations. It's medium coverage, satin finish, which then turns dewy after natural oils come through. I have it in the shade Gobi, (NC15)
Tips: Set with powder if you are oily for sure
This foundation is the best by far, not only does it stay on, the colors match perfectly especially for someone as fair as me. Highly recommend, you get your money's worth for sure.
Tips: Moisturize and prime before use for better full coverage. Less important if you only want a light coverage.
I have very oily skin and am always keen to try new foundations and this had been on my list for a while even though its not specifically formulated for oily skin types. Sheer glow has quite a runny formula but is very easy to build up to a full coverage which I prefer. Even if you're heavy handed like me you really do look like you have lovely dewey looking skin which has a very natural look to it. They have quite a good colour range and if you're pale like me its easy to get a perfect match whether you have pink or yellow undertones. The only downside to this is that it is quite expensive for a 30ml bottle and I'm going through it quickly as I love it as a daily wear product! I team this with Napolean Auto Pilot primer and set (if I can be bothered setting) with the Ben Nye Cameo powder which still lets the foundation look dewy and not powdery.
