For years I have been searching for a foundation that works with my combination skin type and skin tone but have never had luck finding the perfect one! My friend bought it first and when I tried it on for a night out I fell in love, it lasted all night and my skin looked amazing and it didn't stick to my dry skin which was so nice! It took me a while to buy it as it is quite expensive but I couldn't go any longer using crappy foundations that made me break out. So I got it in the shade Santa Fe and I'm never looking back! I 100% recommend this product :)
I have pretty dry skin and I found this to be the only foundation that didn't cling to my dry patches and could be built up to full coverage. It covered my redness and acne scars perfectly while still having a nice finish. The only downside to this foundation is it's pretty expensive in New Zealand and it doesn't come with a pump, but for how great it is I honestly don't mind paying the extra money.
Tips: Best applied with beauty blender/sponge
This was the first every luxury foundation I bought and I am so happy I did. This gives the best coverage and Mont Blanc is the perfect colour match for my skin tone. It gives a medium to high coverage and it very buildable. Perfect for an everyday make-up look or a going out on the town look. If you are interested in branching out into more luxury foundations, then look no further - this in the one for you!
Tips: Collections Lasting Perfection concealer works very well with this foundation!
This was my first high end foundation. I had bought a few Nars products beforehand and I loved all of them so I was a bit biased when I first used it. When I first put it on, I used a defined buffer Zoeva brush. It didn't look very nice at all. It looked quite cakey and it didn't sit well on dry skin. Also, it looked very matte which I found quite interesting because it was called 'Nars Sheer Glow'. I wore it for a few more times because I didn't want to admit that I had spent a lot of money on a dud product.
One day, I decided to use a beauty blender to apply it and it was SO much better. It looked soo smooth and nice on my skin. The beauty blender made it so that the name actually fit the product. My skin looked so healthy and glowy and natural. Now it is one of my favourite products in my makeup collection.
One thing I found quite annoying was that you have to pay extra for the pump, (which I would definitely recommend) as it means you waste a lot less product. Once you put the pump on, however, you cant put the lid on, so you have to have the pump without the lid. This let the product down for me because I am so big on packaging and because I am paying a lot for this product, couldn't they add the pump for free and make it so the lid can fit on?
Overall, I would recommend this product as it has a beautiful finish with the beauty blender, it is easy to blend and doesn't oxidise.
Tips: I find that using a beauty blender instead of a brush gives a better finish with this foundation.
I have dry skin and nars sheer glow works perfectly for me! It always looks super natural and people are always complementing my skin when I wear it which is a lovely confidence booster, haha!
I hate the feeling of thick makeup on my skin and sheer glow always feels so light and natural while giving me the coverage I need.
Have been using it for over two years and it is definitely my favourite foundation.
Tips: I like to put a primer underneath it because I do get really dry skin. I find with a primer it lasts a lot longer and feels more natural.
I have combination skin, oily t zone but dry ever where else. I find that this foundation is very moisturising and due to it being a sheer build able coverage it doesn’t flake on my skin.
Tips: If your in a hurry this is great to apply just to tone out the skin.
I have Indian skin and my skin is the fairer side of tan. I used this product in shade Barcelona for one entire year, leaving my Mac Studio Sculpt NC40 aside to try something new. (My assumption was that its more expensive so should be better right?)
This is a pricey product, but definitely a good quality foundation. However, after using it for a year I decided to switch back to MAC.
This was because of the ashy color my skin seemed to look in all my photos during my time using that foundation. In person, it looked natural (only slightly ashy). The thing I have found with the nars range is that it is not as bright as the shades you can find from mac or fenty beauty. If I were to consider all my friends which have used the same shade I would say that this product oxidizes over the day to a grey on most Indian skin types. This is because brown/tan skin (even when you are on the fairer side of the spectrum) tends to need a more yellow/bright base.
Overall my thoughts on the sheer glow is that is would be great, but seems to look ashy on Indian skin tones in comparison to the colours that can be found at MAC.
Tips: This product is typically not a stand-alone product (due to the limited color range). It is important to color correct and give your skin a bright base to stop it from looking too dull in images.
This foundation is one in a million for me, I'm on my fourth bottle in the past 4-5 years! I have normal/combination skin but I suffer with with quite bad redness. With most foundations I find that they all look quire cakey on my skin due to my redness but with this one it doesn't. I only need to use a little bit to cover up my redness, it is light weight and goes on the skin smoothly. I use this with the Laura Mercier Radiance Foundation Primer as I like a dewy finish and this works great with it.
This foundation lasts on my skin for up to 5-8 hours without smudging, I used it for both of my school balls and it worked amazing!! I would recommend this foundation for anyone who wants a light-medium coverage and a natural look. Although this foundation is quite buildable.
Tips: Works best with a primer, application is done nicely with a beauty sponge.
This is one of my holy grail foundations. I wish there was one or 2 shades lighter though as it does oxodise a little throughout the day which makes the colour too dark for me. This doesn't stop me from repurchasing though. I'm almost due to buy another one as I'm nearly out.
Tips: It doesn't come with a pump but you can purchase one separately and the pump honestly makes it so much easier to use.
