After heard lots of reviews regarding of this nars sheer glow foundation I thought I should try this baby. I love to hear and say "it's nars sheer glow". I bought from Mecca Nz website. That customers service is freaking awesome I must say. I gave her my current foundation colour and she came with conclusion via mail and also sent me some my close foundation shade to try on my face. I use that sample for one week so I get idea " should I purchase or not?"
I did purchased and it's cost me 79$ for 30ml bottle which is pretty standard. Bottles has not pump so I don't like it but I survived without and I learned how to talk out foundation without pump....lol. It foundation is literally awesome. I bought shade called Barcelona for winter ( just for reference I Mac nc42)
Nars brand claim that it's buildable, lightweight, flawless, natural glow ( glow doesn't mean like highlighter glow), immediately hydration and skin looks brighter that claim is absulately true. Thi foundation is for Normal to dry skin so who has oily skin I don't recommend. My skin get dry in winter time so it perfect but personally I wouldn't use it in summer because my skin get oily in summer.
Two things I really don't like it first one bottle has no pump because I prefer pump. However if I minuse that point then other thing is foundation has no lasting power. Literally after 6 hour foundation get disappear. If foundation provides long lasting power that I would put this foundation on top my favourite foundation. Oh sorry I forgot to tell you that this foundation has really liquidy consistently so works good underneath eyes which is unusual. I found this foundation work really well with buffing brush instead of sponge this totally my personal preference. Hope I cover everything here. I would repurchase again because there has feather light on skin.
I got this bad boy as part of my Superhero mystery shop from the Mecca website. It was $74. At first I scoffed at the price, kinda hoping that I wouldn't love it because of the price but this was not the case.
I went through the painful process of getting my colour match perfectly right. In the end I came to the colour of Sante Fe which is a warm neutral beige colour with a pink undertone. For $74 I kind of expected the bottle to be bigger.
The foundation itself is quite a runny consistency but it isn't too runny that it will run off the brush or sponge. The shade is actually quite light compared to that pictured on the site which is annoying. I could have gone for a slightly darker shade because this colour washes me out a tad.
Despite the mess up in the colour, I needed to see what the huge hype up about it was. The foundation blends in well with a sponge and with a brush but I prefer to use a sponge to have the flawless look. The coverage is quite amazing really. I can go all day and not have to worry about it running off my face, even in the heat!
There is one complaint I have with this. It tends to cling to any tiny dry patch I have on my face. Instead of hiding it like it should, it puts it on show for all to see. Lucky for me I manage to cover it up with concealer over top and a finishing powder.
My skin looks flawless after use. It doesn't make my skin oily or appear like I have caked on makeup. It evens my tone out and hides any redness on my cheeks that I have. It makes a perfect canvas for any other makeup I may put on over top with the exception of the dry patches.
In summary, my skin looks fab (on the most part), it covers most imperfections, it lasts all day long. What more could I want out of a foundation? I am hooked and that $74 doesn't seem so outlandish now considering how much I love it.
Tips: Use a setting or finishing powder.
