Ok, so I love my husband and kids but I think I have found something to love just as much! I have been using Max Factor Lasting Performance foundation for one year now, but since becoming a student again I found I was unable to afford it as much. So a friend of mine introduced me to Oasis Beauty and there I found the BB Creams. I've tried a few in the past but none that gave me coverage like my Max Factor foundation. So anyways, I ordered some free samples, one of which being The Monroe BB Cream. And I LOVE IT! It smells so divine! It's the perfect summer shade for me. Would have to opt for a lighter shade in the winter months but that's ok. But the coverage is what really did it for me. I have hormonal acne scarring on my chin and it covered it completely! After one week of using it I also noticed my acne wasn't as aggressive. The BB Cream went on my skin so smoothly also, it didn't cake or go blotchy, didn't turn orange as others have either. Definitely one HAPPY lady!!

Tips: I apply mine with a sanitized stippling brush for a smoother, buffed look and then set with blush and VERY light brush of bronzer, mascara, eyebrows and lippy and I'm good to go!
I picked up one of the little sample sets from the Oasis website, and with it I got two of the different BB creams, one in Bardot and one in Monroe. Before starting on the products themselves, I just want to say that I already wanted to love them just by their names alone, unfortunately for me, I cannot wear these BB creams.
For starters, the two shades that I received are both really pink based, and are also really dark compared to my skintone (NARS Siberia). I would estimate the shade Bardot to be close to MAC NW20 and Monroe perhaps NW25-30. However, the consistency and the finish of these BB creams are gorgeous. They have a matte/demi-matte finish, but are not drying at all on the skin.
All and all, I do really love these BB creams, but I think that the shade selection needs to be a lot larger before I will be able to use these products on myself.
Tips: You can pick up samples of the BB creams and their other product lines on their website!
I got a sample of this product in the hydrating shade Bardot. I find this product to be very lovely on my skin, it makes it very soft and I like the fact it has all natural products in it.
One let down is that the 2 other BB creams in the range are full coverage, something that I would like due to scarring and discolouration on my face, but I can't use either due to the fact they are for oily skin meaning they have a powder finish.
I can generally get this product to look nice if I add bronzer and a small amount of powder for a bit of coverage.
It has an odd smell, something I've never found with other BB creams, but it is easy to get past it.
Tips: Bardot is light coverage so use powder if that is a problem for you
The Bardot BB cream give a very sheer light coverage. So, it's perfect for all you ladies who like to go for a very fresh no-makeup look. However, if like me you need a bit more coverage to hide skin imperfections like breakouts, pores, scarring etc. this isn't for you. I started off applying a small/medium amount of the BB cream to my face and couldn't even see it. Even when I put on more the coverage was still very light.
The finish is dewy (something I didn't realise prior to ordering, I got this based on shade) so it doesn't work for oily/combination skin like mine,as it will sweat and go shiny throughout the day. I think it would be really hydrating with a nice finish on normal/dry skinned ladies, though.
There really isn't a big shade range, there are only three shades, and the three shades are all pretty similar. But because they're so sheer they blend with your skin tone really well. Bardot looked too dark for me but when I put it on it matched my skin tone nicely.
I love that Oasis Beauty is a New Zealand brand that uses natural ingredients in their products.
Tips: Request a free sample from their website to make sure the product is right for you before purchasing :)
I picked the BB cream in Monroe as one of my 3 free samples, and I'm absolutely in LOVE! At first I thought it was going to be too dark but once applied to my skin, it looked like I wasn't even wearing anything! It is totally breathable, looks naturally flawless and I love the fact that it's matte. I have oily/combo skin and not once did my skin feel oily wearing this product, even after an entire day of wearing it. It is quite expensive, but totally worth the price in my opinion. I will definitely be purchasing it in full size. Not only did it leave my skin feeling and looking amazing, but I also noticed that my skin was looking clearer after a week of wearing it.
Tips: A little goes a long way! I put two dots on the back of my hand and using a brush am able to cover my entire face. Definitely looks a lot more flawless using a brush than fingers.
The first thing I noticed about this BB cream is that it has a slightly odd smell, similar to playdoh. It's pretty faint so once I got past that and applied it I found it went on smoothly and absorbed into my skin quite quickly. It has a sheer coverage, even though it looks quite dark it blends into your skin well and enhances your natural complexion without covering it up too much. This would be an ideal product if your skin was already clear, and you just wanted a natural product to give you a more airbrushed finish. I wouldn't recommend it if you have problems wit breakouts or uneven skintone as it doesn't cover as well as other BB creams. I also found it can have a slightly sticky feel until it sets, or you put finishing powder on. Overall I love the look of the cream, but my skin isn't good enough to flaunt with this product alone.
Tips: Apply with a brush or sponge - Oasis have great tips on their website for getting the perfect application.
It's been really interesting reading these reviews after the Oasis freebee samples and then their sale. I have been using a sample of Oasis BB Monroe which is a really nice colour for me. I liked it as a really light coverage that could still cover blemishes. I found it looked great when I applied it, with little dabs on problem areas and then lightly swept over the rest of my face - definitely good for light coverage and daily wear. The only thing I didn't like is that if I had blemishes that were a little bit dried out it went kind of flaky around those areas after a few hours. So potentially best to wear when you're having a good skin day!
I was considering buying it as my next foundation but haven't fully decided yet. I need to keep using it consistently to know if it lives up to it's name with improving my skin - it has been clearing up but that could be due to other factors too.
I do love that it is NZ made and that is definitely a factor towards me wanting to buy a full size one to continue with.
Tips: You can request a sample from the company's website and they'll send a little mini of the product to try in the post!
So I have a really hard time getting any sort of liquid foundations to work on my patchy, combo, sensitive skin but I've found that my little sample of "The Bardot" is not only perfect for my skin type but also my skin tone. I personally like to pair it with my loose mineral foundation for my preferred coverage and finish. I don't like using my flat foundation brush for it, but with a sponge or even a stipple brush or something similar could really help out. Doesn't cling to dry patches, doesn't melt off of my face and gives me a nice finish. Light coverage but very buildable. I have also noticed that it makes the pores on my nose and cheeks look drastically smaller.
Tips: Apply with sponge or stippling brush. Fingers work too, so don't be afraid if you haven't got any good face brushes.
Packaging is lovely a nice plastic pump bottle, simple but very appealing. This does help cover some of my many imperfections and is nice over a moisturiser much easier to spread around otherwise it does catch onto the skin and make smearing it around quite difficult, without moisturising first it went a bit tacky and was hard to do an even application and went a bit patchy but I do have dry skin. I find its a light cover and love the fact it contains sunscreen so I put it right down my neck as well. I do like the natural fresh face look it gives and the dewy finish gives my skin a nice glow. My skin does like this product it feels nice with this on, not drying at all. It is quite a light colour and fragrance wise it faintly has a sweet scent. I do like the fact that it's also good for your skin.
Tips: I apply moisturiser on first
I was a BB Virgin - when I initially tried this product and since trying other BB's I realise that this one wasn't the one for me - even though I wanted to love it.
My initial impression was of slight disappointment due to the fact that it was very runny and difficult to apply. However, as I'd heard so much wonder surrounding the 'BB' and I usually love Oasis products, I was determined not to give up on it.
On the plus side, the coverage is very natural and lasts well but I just can't get used to (or like) the dewy finish, it just feels greasy maybe I the one with the powder finish is better.
Tips: I experimented and found the best way to apply was to warm it up in my hand a little and dot around my face and then blend.
