Previously a Mabelline supermarket bb cream obsessive I really wanted to try something natural and less mass produced but it is hard to try something new that is a daily staple. First tried a sample of this product and then purchased a full sized product. This is now a daily use product - after 3 weeks though I not sure I 100% love the matt finish? Makes me look a little pale and seems to have a drier finish, not ideal for under a powder. Foundation. But it is great just on its own. Might try this in another colour or type. I do absolutely love the natural ingredients and to support locally made products .

Tips: Definitely try before you buy. Use with the blending sponge.
The thick, creamy consistancy of "The Monroe" glides on smoothly and blends easily, leaving a matte finish which is great for my oily skin. I tried applying the BB cream with my fingers, a foundation brush and a sponge and the sponge definitely works the best, leaving an almost airbrushed look and can be built up easily from sheer coverage to full coverage using the sponge.
The pump action bottle makes it easy to dispense a small amount at a time, making it perfect to get sheer coverage while reducing wastage and eliminating exposure to air and bacteria. The BB cream lasts all day and washes off easily with a regular cleanser.
I have a very oily skin, so even though "The Monroe" has a matte finish, I prefer to add a light dusting of translucent powder over the top to set the BB cream and give me a longer lasting matte finish.
The colour of Monroe suited my skin tone perfectly! The foundation I'd been using before I switched to a BB cream was Revlon Colorstay in Natural Beige (#004), just to give you an idea of a similar colour and my skin tone.
I would definitely recommend and use this product again. I've since purchased their "Jackpot" goodie bag, so that I can try more of their wonderful products.
The only downside to this product is the cost ... it is expensive and might be something that I end up adding to my Christmas or birthday wish list.
Tips: Try before you buy! Oasis Beauty are happy to send you 3 sample products of your choice before you purchase full sized items. Choose wisely though, as you only get 3 free ones. After that, it's one free sample with full sized purchases.
I'm currently using The Monroe Oasis BB Cream, which I received from them as a very generous free sample, which comes in a small purple pottle with a great, tight fitting flip-lid.
This is a very thick BB cream that looks almost greasy in the pottle. It also looks quite dark, but when you smooth it onto your face a little goes a long way, and it doesn't feel at all greasy. The finish is a lot lighter than I was expecting, and when I'm tanned I need to warm it up a little sometimes with a bit of bronzer.
The powder finish is epic. It leaves a matte, settled look to skin without a heavy 'made up' appearance - literally the perfect finish for in between bare faced and foundation. It's marketed as a 'full coverage' BB cream and that's exactly what it is.
My skin is oily and this cream doesn't aggravate it or cause oily patches - it's pretty agreeable actually. It washes cleanly off my face with Micellar Water or cleanser - though interestingly is harder to wash from my fingers than it's counterparts from other brands. I have applied it over a couple of primers - and even over light foundation for a more 'made up' look with that powder finish when I was away and had forgotten my powder. Both yield good results.
The one big downside is the cost. Definitely try it as a free sample first to see if you like it, as it's on the expensive side - but given how long the sample has lasted I'm confident that the full size would last ages.
I am always trying to find a product that is made of mostly natural ingredients and if it's organic even better.
I received this as a sample pot to try. I really wanted to like this product because I really liked some of the other Oasis products, however, it just didn't work for me.
I find the texture to be really difficult to spread (I used my fingers to apply it as if it were a moisturizer), it feels really waxy on. The finish is very shiny, I don't find that it dries to a power finish at all. As for it being full coverage as it says in the product description, I would have to say its more of a sheer coverage. It could not cover up my pimple and discoloration from recent healing pimple scars and doesn't really help with covering my very light sun spots on my cheek bones.
The only thing great about it for me is that it is moisturizing and that it is a natural product.
Tips: I find it spreads a little bit better if you dab the product as dots all over the face, then blend it.
I have rather a miss and rarely hit relationship with BB Creams. Having such a light complexion means that most BB creams are just too dark and do not work on my skin. I have one BB cream in my stash which I occasionally use, but it is more like a full coverage foundation, so it's just not for everyday use.
I had heard good things about Oasis BB creams and their other products, so I purchased the $50 sample bag that contains a sample of all the Oasis products. This way I got to try all three BB creams and was able to establish that The Bardot suited my skin tone best. It sates that it is for light warm skin tones and gives a mid coverage dewy finish and I would definitely agree that it does exactly that.
I used the sample pot first and then purchased the full sized product after one application use of the sample pot. I was sold! Now that is pretty impulsive, even for me, but I really liked the product and could see that it just really suited my skin tone, gave a nice coverage (not too full on, not too sheer) and it lasted all day.
The Bardot BB cream comes in typical Oasis packaging with an inky abstract colour down one side of a white box with an information panel on the rear if the box. I love that the Oasis products are cruelty free, contains organic ingredients and is a New Zealand product. The generous 50 mL sized pump bottle is a great design and easy to use. The fact that it stands upright and isn't a tube is a big plus. I find the smell pleasant and certainly can pick out the calendula and Shea butter notes. The cream also contains hyaluronic acid which is perfect as so does my morning moisturiser and I can use the BB cream immediately after applying my Hydro Boost gel - something I cannot do with any other foundation type product. It is probably why the BB cream feels cold to the touch and has that initial clammy feeling when first applied.
I find that this cream applies easily and gives a nice even coverage that hides just enough, but still looks really natural. It is a dewy finish, and I use my favourite face powder over the top because that's what I like to do. I love the finish and find that with the application of face powder over the top, the finish looks just as great 8 hours later. I have tried finger application, sponge application, foundation brush application and beauty blender application and all are great, so it's whatever I have time for on the day.
It's not a cheap BB Cream with a price tag of $49.90, but it sure does last a long time, so I think it is great value for money.
The added bonus is that the BB Bardot (as do the other Oasis BB creams) contains a sunscreen. I didn't even realise this at first and it did surprise me when I found out as I usually react to foundation type sunscreens in products. However, this hasn't happened with this product, so it's a winner all round for me.
Tips: Play around with layers of coverage and then setting with different kinds of face powders. You can get some stunning effects, the BB Cream grabs hold of certain powders diff entry than standard foundations.
I tried a sample of the Munroe BB Cream from Oasis last year (yay for samples!) and was an immediate convert and purchased a bottle. Unlike another BB Cream I had tried and disliked for many reasons, the Oasis Cream was truely creamy and suited my skin perfectly. The pump bottle dispenses a good amount, the fragrance is pleasant. You need to move quickly while applying as it does start to thicken and dry. The finish is a lovely powder/matt which I love as I'm not a fan of shiny skin, with a medium to full cover. The tone is good for my pink based skin, and it really does make my complexion look amazing. I've given up on foundation! I rave about this product to friends whenever they say they are looking for a bb cream or a foundation. Bonus: Made in NZ, the team are great when it comes to contact.
Tips: If you want thicker coverage, just pat on a little extra over the area you need to 'layer' it. Apply moisturise first and let it dry for about a minute before applying the Oasis BB Cream to avoid that wet-run look.
I got both the Bardot and Monroe as test pots in the oasis beauty website as I was unsure which shade I would be better suited to and I was amazed at how well they both worked ! I have such awkward skin... some days it's lighter than others, so it was good to have both shades to work with.
I am more suited to the Monroe - and you only need the tiniest amount to get full coverage. It is quite thick, so if you're going full on face for a night out, or a photoshoot, make sure you only use a light foundation over it - but I can guarantee you won't even need foundation after!!
Tips: Use extremely sparingly!
I have been using this for just over a month now. This is hands down my fave!! The cost...a little pricy but honestly I havent ever liked a product so much where I can justify spending that much money! But what the heck!!
I love the texture of this BB Cream, its thick enough to give good coverage but still light enough to leave my face feeling like it can breathe & not feel like its caked with product. It doesnt rub off during the day which I love.
Its easy to blend, its buildable, smells like ...cant actually pin point the smell but its instantly gone after a few minutes of applying it I forget that Im wearing it. I love how little you need of this product to cover your face!! Best BB cream!!
I really love this product. I got a free sample from Oasis and it has definitely put this BB cream on my wishlist. When I apply it, I use a makeup brush (just something I tend to do with anything coloured) and it spreads evenly and easily. Just a small touch really covers blemishes and makes a noticeable but natural difference. It isn't greasy; the powder finish is a nice description. I have sensitive skin and this is absolutely fine for me. I definitely recommend you pick up a tester from Hardys and give it a go. It'll be on your Christmas wishlist!
Simply the best BB cream I have ever tried. I have always been a full coverage girl, always feel naked without foundation on but this BB cream is just like wearing foundation but only lighter & quicker to apply. I use a kabuki brush to apply, it's creamy, soft & rich on application and goes on easily with very little blending needed. I have had trouble finding the right shade for me in BB creams but The Monroe is perfect for me, it's not orange or pale, very natural and I love how it sets matte, even on the hottest days it still has staying power with no shine or oiliness. I will be purchasing a full size product, it's won me over!!
